GiGaBaNE's 4th - HydroGanics 600w HiD + Flouro

im one of these types that likes to smoke from sun up to sun down or im just not the same person and when i cant get any it hits me hard.
Ah, a man after my own heart :laughtwo: You sound like the male version of me. :laughtwo:

Just got caught up friend. Lots of information here as per normal. Glad to here this experiment is going well. :thumb:

Woooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

Finally, a break for Giga!

:cheer: :circle-of-love: :theband: :yahoo:  :tokin:

ok guys and gals.

appologies for derailing my own thread, but ive already done that with my moaning about lack of smoke ;)

firstly....ive got some =D i called my old work mate, the one i got noodles (my dog for those who are new to me) from.

Its funny how life works. just had a major shift in my fortunes.

basically he just spent the last 2 hours traveling (on a push bike in the dead of winter) to get me sorted...i bought 3 gramms and gave him 1 of them for his troubles.

long story short...ive just been offered a whole bunch of bagseed and a 4week vegged Mr Nice Critical mass.
I get half of whatever comes out of it for free, using lights that are already running for my own small crop =D

this should massively boost the acceleration of my 'life plan'. and its a no strings one off.. their main problem is lack of grow equip...so im going to complete this agreement and then end it with a suprise gift of a fully equiped grow tent (and an appology that an end has come to 'side deals')

i will post pics of the mass as soon as i get it! i have told him to take some clones before hand as they apparently have 'mad skills' in cloning oO

i do believe critical mass is a high cbd strain ,and known for big yield
Named for its heavy production, this plant literally produces the critical mass yield - the most you could hope to get before the plant's own branches snap from inability to support its growth.

Critical Mass is a remastering of Big Bud for Mr. Nice Seed Bank. It has a genetic pedigree originating from a particularly heavy Afghani combined with the original
Skunk #1. This is a seriously indica-like plant with thick-shaped leaves. In height and structure, it is medium-sized with a very high flower-to-leaf ratio.

Critical Mass gives a massive yield with an equally high stone. With a little luck, the ecperienced grower should be able to yield up to 750 grams per square meter indoors. Due to its heavy flower construction, it can be susceptible to mold in humid growing conditions. This risk is reduced by paying attention to humidity in indoor grows, and harvesting on timw indoors or out.

While Critical Mass is low on resin production and lacks an especially distinctive taste taste, you'll be impressed with this heavy product whose colas border on the obscene in their size and heft
and from mr nice
[h=1]Mr Nice Seedbank - Critical Mass
[/h] A reworked excellent version of an old breed once known as Big Bud. This is an absolute must for the cultivator who demands a high yield with an equally high stone. It is the heaviest plant currently in production for commercial farmers and outdoor crops, resembling the male genital protrusion of a giant donkey. Due to its heavy flower construction it can be susceptible to mould if the growing area is too high with humidity. So be warned, harvest on time!!! It has a genetic pedigree originating from a particularly heavy Afghani combined with the original Skunk#1. An expected yield indoors would be realistic at 650-750 grams per square meter…possibly more for the experienced cultivators? If you cultivate outdoors then expect to harvest in September for the northern hemisphere and by March for those in the southern hemisphere. Breed by the original breeder and founder of the original Seed Bank.

Family of breed: Afghan x Skunk #1
Breeder: Nevil and Shantibaba's
Preferred medium: Bio and Hydro, Indoors and outdoors/greenhouse
Expected yield: Indoor 650/750 g/m2 G/h & outdoor 500-600 g/plant
Flowering period: Expect flowering time in an indoor room of 45/55 days. In the North/hemisphere late September and in the South/hemisphere March to early April…
Recommendations: For the inexperienced growers to the most advanced cultivator.
Special Notes: Winner of multiple awards in various countries since the early days. Exceptional heavy flower, but be warned of problems in high humidity area!

Thanks bid =)

im all excited. plant gets here tonight after dark.

wish i had some superthrive already. this plant has been grown for 4 weeks on a single cfl blue afaik.
i have no idea what kinda pot its in, what soil or whether its been fed organically or chemically.

so im expecting a thin and spindly little beast atm.

if im right and this little baby is a scrawny runt, its getting the full treatment.
repotting into one of my silver air pots (like 15-20 litres) in my organic soil with any root bound issues addressed with scissors.
if the main stem is super thin its getting super cropped.
with such a tall pot compared to the rest of my grow, i suspect much topping and lst too...hell i will even defoliate. poor bitch has no idea whats about to hit her, and neither does the previous grower

god yeah thanks Bid, last thing i need is spider mites...my fatty acid organic bug free stuff is keeping the fungus gnats under control if not totally wiping them out, another bug or fungus would seriously ruin my day, lol.

i wish i could get myko's, this close to xmas its already required some serious paperwork shuffle just to get an unplanned bag of perlite =(

ah well, as long as it produces bud for now...few more grows and i can start getting really kitted out.

13-dec-12
(20 days from seeds going into water)

Wow only 20 days, it feels like its been months, lol

Ok lets get my new addition out of the way..
Please let me introduce a very badly treat Mr Nice Critical Mass

This thing has been grown under a 20w 2700k cfl from seed
Its core roots are trapped in a solid ball of clay that was from someones garden, then its been repotted in god knows what compost, but its lumpy and not amended or even crumbled properly.

Ill state now that knowing what i know about our plant, this thing looks unbelievably healthy for its conditions.

that being said. the stretch is unacceptable to me, i dont feel like completely remaking my grow area ahead of schedule for just 1 plant, so this thing has been tortured to my will.

And now it looks like this! I tried to save the roots but the crap they were in just wouldnt seperate properly and i wasnt willing to risk unsterilised soil in my room. i have defoliated to make sure it goes into shock, i want it to have plenty of time to get a feel for its new enviroment before it starts planning its grow blueprint....i want it to forget it was needing to stretch.

I have sacrificed the bottom 2 nodes and scarrified the entire stem below this. when i repotted, i repotted the roots as normal and watered it in, then i added all the extra compost WITHOUT watering. Im hoping this will give etiolation a chance without causing any damp/rot issues on the stem.

this lady is going to take a while before it makes the headlines again...its currently detoxing from chemical feed and discovering the taste of mild organics =D

And now back to the Hydroganics.

Im sure even my strongest critics (in regards to this type of growing) will have to concede that these look healthy =D

Notice the complete lack of algae! amazing what a decent transition layer and a bubbler can do.
Look carefully and you can see the soil is damp all the way up until the top CM of soil which is bone dry, if i do future grows the same way i potted up the mr nice...ill become pretty immune to fungus gnats =)

Air pruning in action (Mk2 pots have many many many more holes aprx 2mm big.)

21 days ago, these plants below were still seeds in a bag =)

GEDC00047.JPG

I like the pale green compared to the chemical fed critical mass. i know this will do me less harm, especially if i end up smoking un flushed leaves when short of stash. they are not pushed to their limits and thats fine, they will get where they need to be ;)
GEDC00068.JPG

2 week old water...quite obviously not green at all. the debris is mostly left over dust from the gravel. and some is soil that has fallen in from disturbances and bug hunts, lol

And Finally some seed shots, my next batch in progress =D

lookin good in the box GiG:thumb:

thanks =)

i now have 3 fem plants as well as my auto's
i think i will take my big bud 2 and dela haze out of the proto ganic pots (they are crap, barely an inch of soil.). i have topped them both to give a fresh start, im going to put them in identical pots to the critical, veg all 3 for 2 months, then put all 3 to flower.

my grow is blowing up now, i need to get any variables out of the way so i grow all the same with all the same diets and schedules...this is the plan for the near future.
