GG7's Indoor/Outdoor Grows!

Hey GG7,

LOL let me know if find that solution to suspended animation!

Love the grinder, ive been eye ballin one of those as well.

The cuttings look really good too - you should be very proud :)
Keep it up!

:peace:

Hey MS!

Thanks! I couldn't be more pleased with how well rooted all the clones out of the Turbo Klone have developed! I was very pleased to see such thick root development in those GDP clones for example!

Regarding the Sharp Stone grinder… I have heard good things about this brand, and figured I would give it a try. I was surprised at how few CRANK style grinders there actually are on the market! Only a handful and this one looked like the best made of the bunch.

he online price was "considerably" cheaper than the same grinder from the local smoke shop I checked! Do they really need to charge $20.00 more before sales tax than what I can get the same thing for online without leaving the comfort of my house? I like to support our local businesses, but I'm not going to get ripped off for the privilege! :icon_roll:

Test nug included?

Hee hee.. Wouldn't that be nice? ;)

If I had a problem grinding my herb, I'd get a little "cranky", too! :)

OK! Where's the "Rim Shot" icon?? :laughtwo:

This will have to do in a pinch! ... :tommy:

Hey, Goose, where's the dislike button?;) There was a song in the 60s by Tommy James & the Shondells called "My Baby does the Cranky Panky."

MK you're not the only one who can make bad puns.:goodjob:

Mr. Goose Sir, The Wise and Powerful Krip has a link in his sig called the Bonsai Sultan method or something like that. It's long but you need to read this, take your thyme because not only does he go into how to keep your mamas small and your genetic library large, he goes into breeding in detail and to me, it sounds like you are on the yellow brick [pollen] road to the breeding land of OZ. [or 1/2 OZ] I don't keep my mamas in airpots [yet] because I do slow them down a little, but I'm going to get some of the small ones and bonsai them. Root pruning will be easy with these pots.

Grow Room #1 is in an 8' X 8' storage shed, 1/2 is a flowering room [floratorium] with 2 400W phillips cmh mastercolour lamps, 1/4 a vegatorium with an 8 bulb 4' T5, and 1/4 a turboklonatorium with a 4 bulb T5 for the mothers, and a Haight Solid State [HSS] 190w LED for the kloner itself.

In the Ministry Of Genetic Information [since I'm the minister, I'm M.O.G.I. also] we currently have the following genetics: Sharksbreath, Mazar, Mr. Nice, The diethylamide of lysergic acid [EL ES DEE], a landrace colombian [pure red sativa], and my two proprietary lines [#1 a true alpine afghan kush X the colombian, and #2, a SLH/OG kush X the colombian, also a breeding male from line #2]. This is a lot packed into a small space, so storage efficiency is mandatory.

It would appear that you have the room to establish your own library over thyme, and you will love breeding. My collective is the only place on earth where my genetics can b found, and I LIKE IT! You will be able to breed plants that grow like weeds where you live, finish on thyme, and bend your head, just like they're supposed to, and you will be able tocustom-taylor your strain to your needs.

Hey Ganja man! ;)

I hear ya! I am subscribed to the thread of which you speak and I have read through it once already but I need to read it again now that I actually need to put the Bonsai thing into practice on these NL clones. The mother is in the 6 foot range outside and her three daughters are definitely following in her footsteps! ;). Can't have that in a grow closet with a 56" height limit! ;)

I have been wondering if I should check on those bagged up pollen buds? I haven't touched them since Sunday. What do you think? Or should I just wait the full 7 days before I peek?

My second order of Air Pots shipped! :yahoo: should have them tomorrow noon and then I can transplant these last two NLs into some. I think I am going to use 2.4 gals for these last two. Since I want them to stay small I figure a smaller pot would probably be a better choice than a 3.4.

Yep... Bonsai is definitely in my future! I wish I could come over to Mr. K's for a crash course! Are there any good U-tube videos out there on doing this with Cannabis? I would much prefer watching how the Bonsai technique is done with Cannabis than reading about it!

Thanks for the kind words, GG7! :thanks:

You'd be welcome ANY time, but, truth-be-told, Ganja is MUCH better and more experienced with Bonsai than I. :adore:

Also, I'm not sure if you saw this link in my journal, but this is a good re-post of an old OG article on maintaining bonsai moms:

Really?

I had no idea since he was always referring me back to you and your Bonsai related links! :hmmmm:

Well thats totally awesome then! I have two major players in the Cannabis Bonsai movement both involved in my humble grow journal! :thumb:

So, I'm still curious... Are there any Cannabis/Bonsai instructional videos out there on YouTube or elsewhere on the web?

Thanks in advance! :)

That's just because I have the information documented. He has it mastered!

I haven't seen any bonsai instructional videos related to cannabis. I have watched some non-related bonsai videos, but they use copper wire to bend & train the plants and small, shallow, pots. The concept is the same as far as pruning the roots, but I just use topping/fimming to train the branches. If you did use bonsai wire, you could have a plant that looked like it was SCROG'd!

Thats it for now! We will be back soon with more photo updates! :thanks:

Damn Goose, that is one healthy plant.. Kind of makes ya just want to reach out and put your arms around it and give it a big hug... :laughtwo:

With a plant like that you won't need a Christmas Tree. You can just put lights around it and top it with an angel and your ready to go .....:thumb:

Those airpots I have to say again are pretty awsome .. They are definitely a conversation piece.. If I walked in for the first time and seen them I would be like.... What the #$^+)!!!!! Where in the hell did you get those...haha

Hey Old Man!

I was hoping that you were still following my exploits over here! :)

Yeah! The 5.2s are monsters! I got your PM after I had already ordered the first batch, and might have changed that to the 4.6 had I known how big they actually were! No worries though, since I can definitely use pots that size for my outdoor growing next season, and it was a good choice for BBK #4. :)

As for slicing up the root balls on transplants... I use to do that years ago, but I slowly got away from it with my peppers since I found that the plants actually recovered better overall say two weeks down the line if I just left the root balls alone, soaked the ball with Liquinox START transplant solution and simply dropped the uncut root ball straight into the larger pot and finished with another round of START.

Liquinox START is my B1 solution of choice. In addition to the B1 it also contains Chelated Iron/Phosphate, Yucca Extract and a few other things in it. Been using it now for... WOW! Going on 15 years! I never see any transplant shock or stunting, and as a rule, the transplants start back to adding new growth within 36 hours, sometimes sooner. The best part is that it is dirt cheap! Even up here I pay less than $4.00 for the bottle you see in the photo. :thumb:

Here are some photos I just took to show how fast the plants have responded to being transplanted.

I've never done a side by side comparison using two identical clones to confirm which method works best, but that might be an interesting little experiment?

As for the color of the bottoms of the Air Pots... CalGrowers where I bought mine is the authorized dealer in California for the original Air Pot product made in the UK by a company called "Superoots" distributed by TerraHydro. I got Calgrower's URL from the UK website and also was referred to them when I emailed the UK factory on pricing and shipping costs. The size chart that came with my first order looks to be current, so the colors listed should be correct for any Air Pots ordered today. :)

:thanks::welldone:

Well My friend, I can't argue with success.....those girls look great!
I still say the Superoots are not the original Airpots, that's why the confusion for me. Either way I love them.! :thumb:

Hey OMM!

Huh? Now why would you say that? :hmmmm:

I'm afraid you couldn't be more wrong about that my friend. I believe that "Superoots" is the parent company and "Air-Pot" is the name of the product itself. ;)

Watch the "How the Air-Pot Works" video off the UK site you buy your pots from and look in the bottom right corner. You will see "Copyright 2005 Superoots" right there on the video about 2 seconds in.

As I said in my previous post, the UK factory rep said in an email that they would not sell direct to me because I had a local authorized dealer less than 150 miles from my house! They copied my CalGrower sales rep in that reply and that is how the ball got rolling towards my first order. :)

I would guess that the reason they allow you to buy direct from the UK factory is because you don't have a local dealer over there. In the end this arrangement worked out much better for me because I was able to buy them for a lot less than the MSRP along with a break on shipping which turned out to be NEXT DAY delivery! I saved just under $60.00 by buying mine from CalGrowers even with the sales tax included! :)

So... You can put that notion about Superoots to bed. Air-Pot Garden, Superoots, CalGrowers, and TerraHydro Company are all part of the same organization and are all selling/distributing the genuine Air-Pot product. :thumb:

Hey Budman!

Thanks! She is a beauty! The Blueberry Kush strain has a very impressive dark green color to the super lush foilage which I really like. All this girl has gotten so far in terms of food is my trusty GrowMore Organic Kelp Extract once a week. Other than that, just our plain old unadjusted tap water. :thumb:

Heee Heeeh! ;)

Well... We do live in the Sierra and our tap water was Sierra snow just a few months earlier. It truly doesn't get much better than that! :thumb:

In fact, the water out of our tap tastes better to me than the bottled water they sell in the store! It sure pHs better than most with a stable 7.0 most of the time! :)

Still maintain my position Buddy. In the picture you posted, that is not the original bottoms. The are going one way not circular and there is no nipple in the center. This why I never bought from airpotgardens. It's a moot point anyway....we both have our versions of the same design. Who cares any way...they both work. :thumb:

Mine were shipped from Scotland.

Well... I'm not going to get into an argument with you over something so ridiculous.

Mine were shipped from Scotland also! The inner cardboard they packed my order in was part of a master carton for the 5.2 gallon size and it had the UK address in Scotland and everything else stamped right on it.

For the sake of accuracy, as well as for the reputation of the good folks at CalGrowers.com, let me make it clear that product I ordered and received and later posted photos of in this journal are the GENUINE ORIGINAL AIR-POT product manufactured in:

Cowbraehill Tynehead Pathhead Midlothian Edinburgh, UK - Scotland Mainland

There IS NO OTHER COMPANY out there making a similar product under the same "trademarked" product name AIR-POT. Not only would that be illegal in the USA and the UK, no other company exists using the same product name... period. ;)

The website airpotgarden.com is the official UK based website for the Air-Pot brand product. You can buy the product from that site with confidence as well as from any of the authorized Air-Pot dealers this factory website can provide you with.

Thanks! :)

Agreed! Your right! :thanks: Sorry for the fuss!

Agreed! Your right! :thanks: Sorry for the fuss!

Its all good my friend! :Namaste::Love:

I pride myself on my market research skills and I definitely pulled out all the stops in making sure that I was buying the ORIGINAL and GENUINE Air-Pot product when I ordered mine. You had mentioned that there were knockoffs out there that looked similar but were not the same and didn't work as well, so I obviously didn't want to end up with a pile of those!

I actually made a comment to both the UK sales rep and my own rep over here at CalGrowers that they needed to do a better job of BRANDING their product on all the various web sites and such to avoid confusion for new customers. Seeing these referred to as "Superoots" on one site, "Air Pot" on another and so on confused the hell out of me in the beginning and took me a while to sort out.

Now after doing all the digging and emailing the various parties involved, I know that all of these various companies and web sites are part of the same dealer network and are all selling the same genuine original product. This was primarily why I made such a point here in this conversation to point out the clues to look for to prove without a doubt that what I bought and what you (OMM) bought are one in the same product! :thumb:

My second order will be here in a few hours, so I am eager to get them and transplant my two remaining Northern Lights clones into a couple of the smaller size!

The mission I have given myself for today concerns EVERYTHING BONSAI! If I don't start managing these NL clones soon, they are going to end up like the mother plant which is tall and willowy and has lately been showing a tendency to fall over due to the super tall and heavy top end, in a measly 5 gallon pot filled primarily with Cocoblend! You know how light that stuff gets when it dries out! Yesterday when I came out to the back hill to water, the NL plant was laying on its side propped up against a small cedar sapling.

HAPPY 12/12 EVERYONE!!
09/23/11 = First Day of Fall!

:party::theband:

Sheesh! Almost forgot!

Today is the first day of Fall and that means natural 12/12 for everyone in the northern hemisphere!

For all of us finishing our final grows outside, this begins the final countdown to a natural light harvest! Up here we just have to keep our fingers crossed that we can make it to the middle of October without a nasty freeze or Thunder-Storm or both! :laughtwo:

You guys have to see the Purple Urkles now! They are really bulking up nicely! I will grab some photos of the back hill tomorrow morning and post a second weekend update then! :thumb:

But before that...How about weekend update 1? Check it out below! :yahoo:

:thanks::cheertwo::Namaste:

Weekend Update I
More Air Pots for Final NL Transplants

I received the second order of Air Pots today and I was able to transplant the two remaining Northern Lights clones.

Here is a rundown on our entire Air Pot collection:

8 - 1.5 Gallon • 6 - 2.4 Gallon • 12 - 3.4 Gallon • 6 - 5.2 Gallon

I decided to put the fastest growing plant into the smallest pot to hopefully slow it down a bit. I also topped it after I moved the pot into the bedroom closet veg area.

NL #4 was moved into one of our new 2.4 gallon Air Pots

P1011976.JPG

P1011979.JPG

P1011985.JPG

All of the transplants are now complete! The 1.5 gallon just barely fits in between the two 3.4 gallon on each end.

Whats kind of funny about those three pots in the tray, is that I can turn the pot on the left and the other two turn right along with it like a set of pinion gears! LOL! :laughtwo:

Hey GG7 -

Transplants look good. I hear fake air-pots grow fake pot. Glad you were safe and got the right ones. You don't want to smoke herbal incense by mistake. ;) (Sorry I couldn't resist).

What's up with that shit anyway?!? Fake pot that's sometimes legal but dangerous, and the real stuff isn't? And those bath salts - what? I put bath salts in the tub when I wash my willy and other parts. You can get high off 'em too? I'm sticking with dank sticky, :yummy: weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed....

BTW - Awesome looking GDP nug in NOTM. B-E-A-U-tiful. Folks, give that strong consideration for NOTM, it's a beauty. :goodluck:

HeeeHaw!! :laughtwo:

Evenin XL! :)

I hear ya about that fake weed crap! All these kids are dying from that garbage simply because the safe stuff is still illegal! :icon_roll

As far as I know, there have been no deaths directly related to the ingestion of Cannabis! Hell! I don't think there is a single prescription drug or even over the counter that can make that claim!

Is there no one with some common sense, who more importantly CAN'T BE BOUGHT that can take charge of our drug laws? You guys all know what is really going on here right? Just do the usual "FOLLOW THE MONEY" trick!

Guess what industry spends the most money trying to defeat ANY marijuana prohibition repeal efforts? The BEER & WINE INDUSTRY!, closely followed by THE HARD SPIRIT INDUSTRY!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through that agenda! They know that legal Cannabis would seriously cut into their profits, since right now they have a monopoly on LEGAL HIGHS! Personally, I don't think people are going to stop drinking if they can buy pot at 7/11, but these are the people behind keeping Marijuana a Schedule 1 drug! And with this country offering the best laws that money can buy, it is going to be VERY difficult for any grassroots (no pun intended) movement to be able to out spend those two gargantuan lobbies who are trying to protect the hundreds of billions of dollars they take in worldwide!

I say worldwide because they are not only trying to obstruct lifting prohibition of Cannabis here, they are just as active if not more active in the UK and other countries that are still outlawing pot! Think about that the next time you pop open a can or pull a cork! ;) Personally, I never touch the stuff! Bad for the liver!

RANT OFF! :laughtwo:

_____________________________________________________

Thanks for the props on my GDP bud entry in the NOTM contest XL! I have to admit that I am more than a little disappointed that it is doing so poorly in the voting! Perhaps people assume that I photographed it under colored LEDs or something like that? Well.. I DIDN'T!

I held a regular pocket flashlight on the bud to take the photo just to pull more detail out of it and get the colors to pop for the camera like they do in person, but thats it! :thumb:

No special effects used in those photos! That is what the bud looks like in person! Hands down the coolest looking nug I have ever had the pleasure of growing and its really too bad that we couldn't line up all of the entries side by side and take a photo of that!! I'm pretty sure it would win hands down! I really expected it to be a shoe in for 1st place, but I guess not?

Great looking nugs, GG7!!! :yummy:

<RANT BACK ON>
BTW...next to the alcohol industry, next largest contributor to the "Partnership for a Drug Free America" is the pharmaceutical industry! After all, why would they want us all to be able to grow our own free meds instead of having to pay them for things like aspirin, sleep aids, and MANY more big money-makers for them!

Combine that with politicians who get BIG donations and government officials who get lots of power and BIG funding for their anti-drug programs, and we have the perfect storm for continued prohibition.

This is why sites like :420: are so important, as they help spread the word of cannabis awareness. And, this is why it's so important for each of us to help educate others as to the truth behind this wonderful plant we all enjoy! :peace:
