GDB: A Sponsored Grow

Thank you Justin!

Am I correct in recalling that the only supplement you used in your GSC grow was epsom salts?
I actually added 1 dose (5ml) of Purpinator to a feeding a few weeks ago as well to make sure my yellowing wasn't potassium def, and I added real growers recharge around the same time or right before.
But yes other than that, only GF nutes.

Hello growers.

I woke up to a droopy looking bunch of plants today. They were letting me know in no uncertain terms that the days of being able to skip a day between watering have passed!

This is a transition I go through at some point in all my grows. My lazy butt tries to extend the every-other-day watering period for as long as I can before finally conceding that yes, you will need to start schlepping more buckets of water. :laughtwo:

I didn't water them yesterday and this morning they were saying, "Don't do that again."

So all of the MC-fed plants took a gallon, or nearly a gallon, of water today @5g of MC. The Geoflora-fed CB got only 1 liter of plain water so that she'll be ready to drink plenty when she gets her top-feed tomorrow.

So here's a bunch of droopy solo pics:

@Weed Seeds Express C Banana (height = 34 inches)
There were some gnats frolicking in her soil today so I sprayed the soil surface with Neem oil and hung a sticky trap on her.

I've started to call the GF-CB Anita, in memory of the cutest girl in my High School.

We got along really well. Only problem was I was about 6'3" in height and she might have been 4 feet tall with heels on! :laughtwo:

I think the GF-CB is a cutie too, even without heels.

Peace.

It doesn't seem to matter if they droop a little or not GDB, they still look great. You got them fed and I'm sure they are happy as can be now. Good job sir!

How's it going with your new space for the metrosexuals?

Not too bad I suppose. Still seeing nanners popping out on the skunk, all the sudden banana cookies are in there and I see pollen sacs galore if I really get looking. I haven't taken them out of the jail yet to give them water, could likely use some tomorrow.

It's hella hot in there on warm days and I won't always be able open the door before lights on. So they will have a fan inside and high Temps, but they don't seem to be minding it.

Plants are all looking exceptionally happy and healthy, GDB!

I tried the same thing- I finally had to admit, she's got a drinking problem, and I'm her "enabler" ;)

I had a crush on a girl when I was a 5'2" freshman in HS- Loretta liked me too, but she was 6'1", and we just looked silly together....

Thanks Carcass.

You and Loretta could have made a go of it. You only had to fill in 11 inches. :laughtwo:

From Manhattan To Staten" is the name of the jazz CD you're referring to. Made by the group Down To The Bone in 1997.

Check out a song from the CD here.
I’m catching up and many pages behind but had to jump forward in time to say :high-five:

I have this vinyl - a double LP. :tommy: I dj’d in a former life and bought it the week it landed in Sydney. I still remember hearing the title trackStaten Island Groove” for the first time on headphones in the record store listening booth.

Awesome release :bravo: Thanks for the reminder. I hadn’t thought of it in ages.

...back i go to page 4 :surf:

Glad to bring back some memories, Amy! :Rasta:

Good day growers.

I had to post a more upbeat pic today after yesterday's droopy display.

Day 64 + 7. It seems to me that it's getting a tad crowded in there. But that could be my mind playing tricks on me, and I'll tell you why in a minute.

It's funny how one can get so into growing these lovely plants.

You may remember that I was quite late to this hobby, not starting until my early 60s. When I did, I started trying to convince some of my peers to get into it too. I figured the more the merrier.

Well the one guy who bit and bit hard about a year ago now has gone from having zero gear to having a 4x4 and a 3x3 tent, with all the required fans, lights, and timers, as well as numerous other growing aids too numerous (and some too comical) to mention.

Then when I paid him a visit the other day, he took me to his backyard and showed me this!

A 6x6x6 outdoor tent!

I was floored.

And now my plants look confined and constricted. But I didn't see them in that way until I saw his damn tent! :laughtwo:

Peace.

Well I'm so glad I didn't stop by to visit until today, so I can see the new and improved version! It's going to be mighty crowded in there soon...kinda like an @Heavenly Hybrid flower tent. :cheesygrinsmiley:
“changing water frequency in flower” dance
The way I change watering in veg vs flower is that I water in flower a day earlier than I would have if the plant was in veg (based on picking up the pot). In other words, don't let flowering plants dry out like you do in veg. In veg you want root growth, so having them seeking water is a good thing. In flower you want bud growth, and that means you would water more often.

Hello growers.

I'm in a quandary!

I'll try to get through this post without typing any curse words. Here we go...

I got up early this morning, a rarity for me due to my sleep issues. But today I got up around 7am.

I went into the room where my tent is and was shocked to see light coming from where the intake fan is located. The damn grow light was on (oops)!

When I flipped these plants 8 days ago I set the timer for the light to turn on at 8:01am and go off at 8:01pm. What the hell?

I took out the timer and confirmed that it was set for 8:01am to 8:01pm on, and the local time was properly set. My first thought was you piece of shit timer (oops again). Now my question is: what time has the light been coming on? And what friggin' light schedule have my plants been under? (I did better that time.) I can confirm that it's been going out at 8:01pm.

I had another timer handy and used it to replace the one in the tent.

I'll take the shitty (oops) one and, without changing anything on it, connect it to a lamp on my nightstand so I can see what time the lamp comes on in the morning. (I hope it wakes me up when it comes on!)

I'm really hoping it comes on at 7:01am, meaning my plants would have been on 13/11 for the past 8 days. Of course I won't know the answer until tomorrow morning.

I'm thinking of changing the cycle to 11 on and 13 off for the rest of this grow.

Any thoughts?

Peace.

Hey @Grand Daddy Black hope you are well my friend.
I'd just make sure they get at least 12 darkness and keep going forward.
Seeing as your just starting flower I don't think you have done any damage.
Or you could give them 24-36 hrs darkness and start flowering from there.
Either way you have to start over if they were only getting 11 hrs darkness, if I'm understanding correctly.
Bill

What is done is done. You have no choice but move forward and stick to your game plan. I would personally stay with the original plan of 12/12.

Im guessing your most pressing move is get in and get those dang mites deleted before they take down your entire home. They won’t go away unless you do a thorough cleaning of ever tent and room you have going. You will need to stay on top of the preventive maintenance for weeks after. The mites are a serious issue. I hope only the best for you and your plants. :goodluck:
