Gardenfaerie Outdoor Organic Summer 2014 Flux and LST in Ground

I think I have good news! My camera broke! YAY! It officially broke. I was zooming out and in and it broke. It went BANG and that was that. Let's see, I just ordered two LED panels, dare I get away with asking for a camera, also? I'm in a lot of trouble if I do .....I better be quiet.

That said, some of those colas are looking pretty nice and they feel very dense in my hand.

What are those spots on the leaf? Looks like leaf miner damage of some kind.

I know you aren't into defol, but do you think some of these plants would do well to get a little haircut? Some of the fan leaves are really covering up the colas.

your garden is looking great. sorry about your camera. I'm not sure what those spots are. fan leaves will fall off on their own in late bloom. for now your plants are using all their fan leaves. you should stop by my journal and say hi :)

You take great pics gf; good thing you have such a beautiful garden to take pics of; and I think you meant 'get your feet wet'. You really do have a very scenic, portrait worthy garden.

Thank you for such a nice compliment. The garden is getting a little wild, but with the rain last night it is all rejuvenated. In the photo you can see those red flowers; they are Bishop's Hat which are native and came up as volunteers. Birds must have planted them there. I love that.

What did I say? I can't find where you are talking about me meaning 'get my feet wet."

I will stop by your journal, for sure. Yeah, I think the plants are okay. They show no signs of stress or nutrient deficiency, so far. Leave well enough alone. What do you think of me buying a specific blooming nutrient? Is there anything of value to some of these special bud nutes? I know they are not organic, but...I'm willing to use something to get some trichomes going. Unless I'm just not being patient. These have flowered since May, so I am concerned.

they're going to "flower" till the end of the season. usually the nutrients are all derived from the same things, just watered down and sold in multiple containers so they can make more money. I use a fish fertilizer which has every nutrient in one. it also has a little added P because they use phosphoric acid so the fish doesn't go bad. the cheaper fish fertilizers use sulfuric or formic acid.

if you want bud sooner you should plant an autoflower seed, give her full sun, and you'll have some big buds in about 12 weeks. the sooner the better because the sun is the "strongest" now (at least where I'm located).

I actually have that fish emulsion, that brand too. I will never use that inside. PU.

I don't have any auto seeds. I should have ordered some a month ago, but why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?

I'd plant an auto today if I had one. I gave my left over auto seeds to a friend back in New York. He originally send me seeds for my first grow last year.

Okay, so the fertilizer question is what I thought. The "special" blooming devices are not so special. I really wanted it to be special. :)

Oh Granny, no expert here on anything. I know some stuff about some stuff and I forgot a lot of it over the years of a lot of sickness and junk. I'm a regular girl with a little information...could be dangerous!

Lester, I will take photos later today and give you a personal update! I can tell you the plants are very firm and producing now. Bracts are really plumping up now, but I still don't see a lot of trichome production. There are more trichs on the Money Maker than the WW x BB and LK.

Inside, the plants are still little babies, but the Money Maker is MUCH slower than the Strawberry Blue.

Photo update to come...

Now, I am ordering two of the Top LED 48x3 Reflector Panels. My reasoning is simple, they have the most output for the price and I like that we get to see the vendor on a regular basis, she never has a bad thing to say or a bad attitude and customer service goes a long way with me. I know these are from China, but I have not been able to narrow down an American manufacturer. I don't know enough about LEDs to buy a more expensive unit. Not yet. I'll get my hands wet with the Top LED and move from there.

One more thing here since this is an OT journal. I am trying to compile a list of wishes for my next and probably final home purchase. I think it should be inland, but near a body of water and definitely in the mountains. I need mountains or ocean and ocean is going to flood, so inland mountains. It must have four seasons, but not brutally cold, not ever brutally cold. Okay, two weeks of cold, but the rest moderate like it is in the PNW. One story. Property, but not that has to be manicured. Open space for growing food. Modern bathrooms and kitchen. Oh forget it. I'll never find this house so I'll just continue to enter the HGTV Smart House Sweepstakes.

I think you meant feet and not hands No big!

Haha, there it is! What was I thinking? That's the little kinds of things I say incorrectly which add to the neurological issues I've been having; just to give you an example.

It's very frustrating. I called my husband, Michael, the other day.

Be patient, still need to actually flower IMO, I know you think they've been "flowering" since May, but they haven't actually surged flowering hormones, they have been kind of idling the status quo. Balanced moreso. They did not really fully revegetate, but they have shown the effects of it. A little bushy, but still a nice place for dense colas to form.

Yeah, looks like some kind of leaf miner damage, doesn't add up to be caterpillars just yet. With the "crib" setup, it'll make it hard to get in there and inspect the colas, bending over, etc. You still have a lot of flowering to go. I'm guessing things will proceed quite nicely by September 15th.

About the defol, I'd say heck ya go for if it makes you feel better, your specimens are bushy and are a perfect place for caterpillars/bugs/mold to hide. And I'm sure it's been humid for you. I like to defoliate for airflow to the canopy. Often times focusing on the bottom most growth/popcorn areas that can be selectively pruned to help increase the air traveling underneath the bottom branches/canopy and UP throughout the top of the plants. I would say feel free to do some productive pruning, especially since often times with some kind of revegging event we usually need to do some maintenance pruning.

About the flowering nutrients, I'll PM you what I like just for reference.

:ciao:

There are homes in Oregon, with the weather, land and water you wrote of.
California water is a premium commodity.

Pennsylvania around Amish country can be beautiful. I don't know how harsh the winters.

Thank you, Lester and Peege and Rad.

I think I'll do a little experimenting. At least looking closer. The cage can easily come out of that position. Next spring there will have to be a different spot to grow.

Did I tell everybody I couldn't help myself the other day and I bought another 9x7 foot greenhouse at Big Lot. It comes with the shelves and it's a bit flimsy, but for what I do with it, perfect for my plants. I think I paid 55 dollars for it. Half off! And I've been waiting for this sale.

This is the one:

Good morning again. I'm up now. Slept after smoking a whole joint myself at 2am. That said, I woke up to a dying computer. I think they build this crap to last 4 years and explode. My LED screen is dimming and leaving the earth. I guess I'll be buying a computer. Sadly, Mark also needs one. Two for the price of two. Yay.

So if I disappear for a spell, it's my computer and there is no way I can use the phone. I barely know how to make a phone call and it rang the other day and I didn't know how to answer it! OMG, I'm that old woman now! OY VEY. I'm turning into my mother, but at least my VCR doesn't still blink. Yes, she still has a VCR. Yes, it still blinks 12:00!

Have a beautiful day...I hope I see you all.

If you are looking to increase trichome production I use 3 products that have worked very well for me in flowering.

I use Snow Storm Ultra as a foliar spray at 2.5-5 millilitres per litre in flower every 7-10 days and discontinue use 1 week before harvest.

I will only spray Snow Storm Ultra just before the lights go off for the darkness phase of flowering.

I also use General Hydroponics Liquid KoolBloom and KoolBloom Dry in flower.

I use General Hydroponics Liquid KoolBloom at 2.5-5 millilitres from the start of flower until 3 weeks prior to harvest then use General Hydroponics KoolBloom Dry for 2 weeks at 1/4 teaspoon or 1.25 millilitres per gallon and discontinue use 3-5 days prior to harvest.

You can see these products in use and the results in my KingJohnC's Lush Lighting LED Dominator 2x Soil Indoor Grow Journal and Review.

Thank you John. I've blogged your post so I can reference it. I like that you can spray nutrients on flowering plants. I think I remember you saying you spray before lights out due to a little burn from the LED and the fert? Is that why you did it at lights out?

Congratulations on getting some new LEDs..:thumb: OMG ,, my mind just went totally blank, I can't think of the word I need to use....I'll just word it the best I can.. Did you investigate or shop around at LEDs...curious if the Mars runs hotter than reflectors,,, I think I read that somewhere or wait, maybe that was something else... these days my memory is so bad most of the time I don't know if I dreamed it or it actually happened. :loopy:
