Gardenfaerie Auto Fem - CFL to Greenhouse

I think we're all older now and have learned skills to cope. Since starting MMJ, I've been reading a lot about strains. When I was growing up I remember it was either good weed or not! We had Acapulco Gold, Panama Red, Thai Sticks, Hash Oil, blonde or brown or black hash. That was your selection! And that was NY. NOW, holy shite. After reading about many strains, I now know that I should avoid the Sativa's and stick to heavy Indica or ONLY Indica strains. We're going to have a new governor in our state this year and the woman who is running against the idiot who is governor now is PRO MMJ. It's a matter of time. Then I'll remodel my house because then, I will stay living here in this place where it is 80 degrees today.

Or maybe I've been smoking it all along but just have gotten that good at handling it.

Ok, ok.....I'm very late so I'll just slide on in at the back and enjoy the future if that's ok with you G.F?.
Those pics on the earlier pages are great by the way. Lovely, well cared for girls :)

You're not that late. These are still in flower out in the ghouse. I saw some aphids on one of the plants and I washed it off with jets of water. I'm not overly concerned. It's just more of a nuisance than anything.

What do others do about aphids in the greenhouse on plants in flower? Veg, no problems, I can use insecticidal soap as a last resort, but not on the flowers or I'll melt off the trichs.

Good green morning to you G.F.
That's one I can't answer I'm afraid. We're all pretty much indoor secretive types here :)

A little update, but the plants are only this morning looking like they started to put out weight on the buds since moving outside. The temperature ranges between 88 and 55. NO MORE AUTOS. I don't think.

And inside the small greenhouse is my little germination shelves. I got those at Big Lot's at the end of last summer for ten dollars. They sell a lot of cool crap for growing, if you rig stuff up like I like to do.

I'm going up to the garden centers now to see if I can buy a bale of Promix somewhere. One of the local garden centers also grows their own plants and may be willing to sell me a bale if they use it. Have a great day everyone...talk to you in a while.

If there is a home depot around they stock pro mix hp. If they don't have it in stock you can use the ship to store option on the website for free shipping to the store. Personally, I'd rather give my money to a smaller local business but home depot is a viable option.

How are the zippers holding up on the flowerhouse, GF? I got mine for cheap. It was a demo model the company used at trade shows and whatnot. One of my zippers is starting to have some real problems now... It is always open on one side so I can walk through a sliding glass door right into it. I may have to spin it next year so the messed up zipper is on the side by the slider since the only way out onto the deck is through the messed up zipper at the moment. I hope it lasts until I can take the thing down for the year - around the last week in April.

For a hundred dollars, this little greenhouse is on its second season and so far so good. I do not open and close the zippers on mine more than one time a day because it is in the larger greenhouse. Now on the larger one I did have to order marine zippers and hand sew them onto the poly. They said this gh was only supposed to last 6 years, but it has been almost 14 with life left.

So, I like my little gh for what I paid. If I see that deal this summer when they do close out I will definitely buy another one.

I'm not really complaining, the bum zipper is aggravating is all. I paid 90 bucks I think with shipping and the optional shade cover was included. It has probably saved me that much in electricity not having to run lights when plants are out there already! I might have to invest in some marine zippers and borrow a sewing machine...

I got mine on eBay. 72 inch black marine zippers; six of them cost 10.00 free shipping.

Hi G.F :) Great update and lovely set up.....very impressed am I :) Have some special OZ to YOU Reps :)
I love improvisation and just cant resist "manufacturing" rather than buying purpose made. I built my tent frame from timber, covered it in Black and White, wrapped it again in heavy gauge DPM (Damp Proofing Membrane) and then covered it with old sheets, curtains etc. The result is zero heat loss and great sound suppression :). Cost MORE than purpose built but is infinitely better :)

I have not really looked locally for it. Last resort would be out of the area, but I do know enough industry people where I can probably get a few bales ordered for me through their purchase order. I can also always make my own "promix." I do like their surfactant which keeps the soil from ever drying out to the point of no return like most peat based mixes.

Like Ozzy said Brooklyn, lovely set-up.
