Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Duggan & OG could fix that for ya :)

Mornin you guys!!....Got a few min's. before Marilyn shows up. Rare op. to see each other before tomorrow night (works afternoons)....asked her if she wanted a pc. this aft. ....she said .."see you at 11"....:surf:
OK...OK..... hey Major....ya Budley, would like to put some power down there for Major....here's the quickest, cheapest (usually!) way Major. Basically cut a shallow trench about 6" dp., no more is necessary, and burry some underground wire, like some NMWU (black stuff), say ,....12/2, minimum, to a pressure treated lil post down to a central garden spot,...fasten a weatherproof PVC Receptacle box and hook up to a 15amp GFI rec. The oversized wire is needed to maintain voltage over the long distance. It's wouldn't be such a big job pal,....if only scratching in to 6" like that....gotta make sure you don't cross a vehicular pathway ,...you would have to go way deeper if that was the case.
Major , if only i was closer....i'de have it all done for ya....i would burry some PVC pipe and hook it up to a small sub-panel and build a lil hut for it. OH Ya! Cheers brothas!:circle-of-love:

Thanks for ^ that ^ duggan.

I really don't need power in the garden (it would be nice at times). A big obstacle is getting across the creek. Not only is the garden a 1/4 mile from our service panel, but I'd have to pull wire across the creek and some uneven terrain. I have conduit hung under our bridge, but it only carries phone wire (no longer used). Even if I did decide to put power down there, I'd need to go to full depth. With the tractor and my luck, I'd be sure to plow or till it up otherwise.

It's good to know you are an electrician! We are pipefitters. . May we come to you in the future if we have any electrical questions? We have 2 seperate breakers to the grow rooms, but will be adding more power using devices. I don't want to overload the breakers.

I can help you with that if you need to consult. Im not licensed but it's legal here to do your own wiring then have it inspected. I've done a lot.

Perhaps a small generator with enough juice to run a water pump? That would be on my xmas list :)

Water, I've got. I did pull a run of schedule 40 from our well, under the bridge, and out to the garden. That and a 100' hose gets me to the current grow. :thumb:

Hi Canna, yes , of course you can "pick my brains" (while i still have some..:tokin:.)...any time OK! Two circuits , if designated (by themselves to panel) is plenty of power for a reg. sized GR. That's what i have too. I run the lights on one and the exhaust and another fan on the other. Cheers eh!.....Pipe fitters eh....good to know:thumb:

We are also happy to help.you if you have any pipe related questions. Thanks for your help with the breaker paranoia I'm having. Lol

Don't worry, two circuits can easily handle any thing you would need. They can safely handle 1500 Watts each, that's about 13.5 Amps /circuit. Loads of stuff can be put on those two 120V circuits very safely. Have an awesome day you guys/gals.:high-five:

Thanks Duggan. We had a house fire as a teenager and it makes me a bit nervous with all those lights and things going down there. Thank you for easing my mind a bit.

Canna, I hope no one was hurt in the fire. That must have freaked you out, for sure, so i understand your paranoia. I used to feel 'un easy 'too, leaving very hot burning 1000W lights alone ....used to bother me. As long as the circuits have been wired properly and cords are left "uncovered" and off the floor, and COMMON sense is practiced all will be... just dandy!:thumb:

I would just break down and buy a small gas powered generator, hook up and extra fuel tank to it nothing fancy but enough to were it could run for say 4 days to a week without having to refuel then build a small doghouse around it down at the garden . Simple enough plus it would give you options for the future.

How do you think he got his name? :)
Have a great weekend Major.
Try n stay cool my friend.
:cool::surf:

His parents gave it to him at birth, well that is the way it works in most parts of the world.
to heck with major Pita staying cool, try and keep the girls cool something tells me the sheets will be a great benefit this weekend. I may be stealing your idea for my 200 gallon pot.

Enjoy the sun, it is going to be a scorcher the next few days

Great job...keep it up..I wanted to grow that much in the city,,lol,,HAPPY GROWING.

:thanks: Welcome ED! If Cali' goes recreational this year, hopefully you will be able to do it next summer.

A couple of small updates. First the good news:
The Epsoms on GASS does appear to have made a big improvement in newer growth. I think a mag deficit was the problem. Yay!
ZD(+) surprised the heck out of me. She is showing her Golden Tiger side, growing 11" this week. The others managed about half that much.
The semi-bad news:
Ace of Spades broke a large lower branch. I knew it needed some support because the lower branches were forced to grow out rather than up. She got a good watering yesterday morning and I had already driven stakes into the ground. I went to get some string since it was breezy. By the time I got back down to the garden, it had already broken from the water weight and wind. I was able to tape it up and the break appears to be healing OK. I hope the branches on all of them aren't going to be weak. More calcium needed maybe? Time will tell.
I also seriously 'F'd up my back splitting wood yesterday. No serious gardening or anything else for a couple of days.
Have an awesome weekend gang! :circle-of-love:

sounds like you need extra Calcium and Mg too for your spasms..:thumb:

Hey Major, weekend's busy eh? Hmm I guess you could start thinking about getting a cage but a solid one with chicken wire or bean one to support these branches. You kind of do an LST and really spread these branches apart. If you get a bush like that you have to stretch it out a bit if you want them get an even exposure. Otherwise you're risking mold, broken branches and whatnot. If you want a more manage'able one you could also prune all these lower branches, focus on getting upper ones as big as you can.
