I love a good experiment too, especially the kind that makes it to the finish line! I'll see what I can do newty! Next summer I hope to find a quick finishing photo strain to run outdoors planted directly in the veggie garden.Nice!! I love a good experiment
Yeah, but I've lived in Alberta, you can't fool me... what are the nights like?Lolololol every time I come here!!
Laurel is so beautiful @Smeegol
Welcome @Stupidface I’m super glad you made it, I’ll have a few autos growing in soil outside and will need you, now I don’t have to go get you
@425jesse WOOOOOOOOP! You got a different shirt then the others I’ve seen! I’ll be showcasing my vault autos in this Grow as they will be outdoors
I hope mine come soon, I’d love to drop them asap!
Happy day all +30 all week here in Edmonton, Alberta
You didn't use soil that was pre-enriched with nutes, did you? I did in a bunch pf plants like that.
Well three of the 4 are doing fine, and spent a few hours outside on the deck yesterday(too cold today) , the Critical Mass was apparently a dud. Still wasn't up today so I went digging and found an uncracked but pretty soggy seed. Not sure if it was no good or my soil was too wet but pretty sure it was the same as the others. Why did I only buy one seed of a strain anyways? Was looking forward to it! Ah well, the reserves have been called in and a Cream Mandarine XL has taken her place.. Which brings up the next issue of the Cream Mandarine I had running in the tent. I think it's safe to say I've murdered my first cannabis plant. Well other than at harvest time hehe. Here she be..
She is in a 11 mix of promix hp, promix organic veg and herb and another brand nature's care which is supposedly a decent "organic" potting mix. I had given her a light dose of the veg nutes from the go box and it was downhill from there. Must be over fed or locked out I guess due to not knowing the content of the soil(s). Being in such a small container is probably not the best thing either. I should have just let her go as she was doing fine before I poisoned her. So now these new girls are in the same mix in their solo cups and I am debating using it again when I up pot and no nutes unless it's very clearly needed OR switching to straight promix hp, picked up a couple more bags yesterday just in case. The replacement Cream Mandarine is in straight hp so I will have at least one running that way. Fun stuff, another experiment. Also I ordered up a new ph meter and calibration stuff since my old one is all over the place.. Should be here tomorrow.
Northern Lights or Hash Plant. And send me some when you harvest.I love a good experiment too, especially the kind that makes it to the finish line! I'll see what I can do newty! Next summer I hope to find a quick finishing photo strain to run outdoors planted directly in the veggie garden.
Carrots, is that what you call them? We call 'em tomatoes down this way. That would be pretty sweet! I wonder how many carrots I actually need this year

You need a degree in genetics to do that one..................I am going to have a bowl, it's really obvious isn't it.....???
I've gone back but for the life can't make 1 + 1 = tarratoes.....
Sure did, and all seemed to be good until I gave it extra nutes too.You didn't use soil that was pre-enriched with nutes, did you? I did in a bunch pf plants like that.
Yeah, been there, done that. Killed my first plants that way. Way way way too much nitrogen when they went into bud.Sure did, and all seemed to be good until I gave it extra nutes too.
Thanks! Ya the plant will be getting tossed as it's not worth the effort for the few grams it might produce.Give that poor plant some calcium, lol. Make sure your pH is at least 6.2 (assuming that's soil), because in soil, calcium is absorbed easiest with a pH between 6.2 and 7.0. Well, I'm assuming that you keep the pH in the neighborhood of 6.5 anyway (again, assuming that's soil), but just to make sure...
That might not be the issue, but it's my guess. And, from the looks of things, what do you have to lose?
It doesn't look to be especially low on magnesium, so I'd probably go with something like calcium nitrate instead of a product that has both ("Cal-Mg"). Although that might only be because the level of Ca is so low, because there's a proper ratio between the two elements - so watch for (newer) leaves that become pale but still have green veins. I'm probably describing that badly - so do a web-search on magnesium deficiencies for pictures illustrating that. As you raise the level of calcium, you might have to up the magnesium in order to keep a healthy ratio between the two. And, while you're at it, do one on calcium deficiency so you can check my opinion (as it's been years since I looked at a deficiency/toxicity chart). It could be potassium toxicity, because (if I remember correctly) that can somewhat mimic the symptoms of a calcium deficiency - but that seems unlikely here, IMHO.
If that is a calcium deficiency, and you successfully treat it, the currently damaged leaves probably won't recover - but new growth should be healthy.
While you're in there doctoring your sick plant, why not fill those cups the rest of the way up, lol?
BtW, when you get your new pH meter - and have calibrated it - you should do a "slurry test" on your soil mixture in order to determine its pH. Take a quantity of well-mixed soil, an equal quantity of distilled water, place them into a container with a lid, and shake the <BLEEP> out of it. Then let it sit for about five minutes and measure the pH of the resulting solution, which should now reflect your soil's pH.
Good luck with the sick plant!
Thanks TS. I'd love to mess with her some more for learning purposes but I am well stocked on bud and have a lot going on with other plants and garden stuff, so I will probably just try to get an idea of her soil ph after my pen arrives tomorrow and then take her for an long walk into the woods! Almost certain I simply overdosed her, if the ph is good I can be pretty sure I think.Keep in mind those were only my opinions.
Some times it's better to toss a sick plant than to expend resources (TIME!) dealing with it. Can be a tough decision, though.

Haha I remember when I started growing and my dad taught me the basics from afar. He gives me a supply list and says, go to a hydro store and make sure you don’t tell them what your doing, tell them it’s tomatoes!Carrots, is that what you call them? We call 'em tomatoes down this way.
Nice new sig PW!Hey we worry, it’s what we do!
