Day 27 of flower

The girls look fantastic! I’ll admit, I was a little worried when they took a nap after their hair cut yesterday.

Ok I think I’m getting somewhere with the burnt edges, maybe lol. Little Neville’s has responded great to Terpinator. So we’re definitely dealing with a K issue due to the 3 gal pots.
But here’s the thing, the Neville’s was showing a classic K deficiency, easy to read, the hybrids only have these burnt edges and only on parts of the plants and they’re also in 3 gal pots. Like @StoneOtter suggested, maybe the rare organic over feed? But in 3 gal pots? Plus the Neville’s doesn’t use as much K…it’s all very confusing lol. So, @Emilya Green will you please when you get a chance, take a look at these and tell me what you think? I’m stumped.

Check out the difference between the leaves on the same plant, right next to each other. The Zkittlez has a little of this too. Other than that, they’re very happy. I’m leaning toward banana peal water if needed. In the spirit of true organic, I don’t want to use Terpinator if I don’t have to.

I would concur, that you are looking at a slight K deficiency. Banana peel water, even boiled peels, releases very little K. It is in there, but not nearly as much as if you ferment the peels in that water for 20 days or so... boiling in water only releases the water soluble part of the whole. What I am saying is that it will help, marginally, but there are much better sources for your extra K. Terpinator is one of them. There is nothing not organic about Terpinator, and I suspect that it is actually fermented banana peels. They claim you can drink it with no harm. Even GeoFlora now advises Terpinator with every watering for their organic feed. It's good stuff and you shouldn't be afraid to use it... I do.

Thanks Em! I’m really glad to hear that. I’ve used the banana peel water before but it takes awhile to make, stinks up the house and like you said, because it’s weak, I have to do it every watering.

Just watch your leaves with terpinator and Rev soil. Mine burns tips if I use it.
Thanks Otter, I’ll start with 2.5ml for .75 gallon see what that does. Seems to work with the cal-mag. I used to over do everything, now I’ve gone entirely in the other direction with the same results.

Terp is potassium sulfate and it's the sulfur they consider the terpene booster part. The potassium is just along for the ride even though that's how a lot of folks use it as a supplement.

2.5ml of Terp in .75g of water is about 30ppm of K and 18ppm of sulfur, which seems like a pretty good boost!

Yeah I’ve been meaning to get some ppm meters. I was going to get a soil one first…

I don't believe that minor tip "burns" are actually indicating a problem. I get those on almost every grow I do. The adage is, "if you aren't at least burning the tips, you aren't trying hard enough."
That seems to be many growers opinion. I was moved to see a dose of Terpinator can have an effect like that!

Day 28 of flower

Today is the end of week 4 and I’m counting my blessings. Other than a mild K issue, I haven’t had any other problems.

Little Neville’s is giving her big sis a run for her money. Her buds are bigger at this point, I’m wondering if she’s the correct pheno. I’m guessing she is, because I don’t have a clone of her.

For those of you interested in exactly what I’m doing, here’s my water and nute schedule. I don’t necessarily plan one, I just let them find their own rhythm and so far this is it.

Day 1) Water day: Sativas, 2 gal plain water each. Hybrids, 1 gal plain water

Day 2) Skip day

Day 3) Water day: Sativas, 2 gal water, 2.5 ml cal-mag. Hybrids, 3/4 gal water, 2.5ml Terpinator, 2.5ml cal-mag.

Day 4) skip day

Repeat.

I used rather large spikes in all the bags. The girls in the 3 gal bags appear to want more. With this amount of veg time, I’ll be using 7’s exclusively from now on. The Sativas aren’t heavy feeders so I think I might be good there.

oh, and I water in 2 stages. Everyone gets half at a time in 2 laps.

And the Zkittlez smells just like Skittles.
Have a great day! :yummy:

I’m still undecided on super cropping. I could definitely get more uniform light if I did it, but the lights pretty good right now. I checked today and at net level in the weakest spot I measured 665 umols. That’s not too bad. The hot spots are at 1200. I could live with that.

Those are good numbers in my house!

Day 30 of flower

Cruising along. Just plain water today.
I’m thinking I’ll brew a tea for next time. The Sativas not getting anything is making me nervous, and I’m bored. I’ll probably upcan the clones tomorrow too.

Have a great day! :yummy:

I’m starting to think my plants all have completely different requirements. Let me explain. In the first pictures we have my M/P/B2. She has burned edges on the uppers but lessens to nothing as you go lower into the plant. There’s no discoloration anywhere in the middle of the leaves.

In the second pictures, we have my Zkittlez. She has burnt edges at the top, like her sister, but it progressively gets worse towards the bottom. Again, not on the entire plant, and the centers of the leaves look fine. Over fed, or deficient? I’m still not convinced of either. I’ll keep giving them low doses of Terpinator for awhile and see what happens, it ain’t hurtin the frost that’s for sure.

I’ve been going through pictures and I do believe the M/P/B2 is K deficient. The edges aren’t quite as burnt as a few days ago. Still not sure about Z. Probably the same. We’ll see what the tea does.

Got the clones upcanned. I built the pots slighting different. The soil only cooked for 20 days so I cut it with Happy Frog. I still put in the layers but skipped the blood meal top layer.

Day 32 of flower

Yeah I think the hybrids are getting greener. They certainly aren’t getting any worse and the buds are beautiful so I guess I’ll quit worrying about it.
They’re drinking more water so I left them in a deeper puddle. It might take them an hr to suck it up.
They all got watered cut 1/3 with tea. I added 2.5 ml Terpinator and 2.5 cal-mag to all of them. I doubt the Sativas will even notice.
