Just had a peek before lights on... I love going down there lookin at the trichs with a torch in the dark.. One of those bright LED ones. So much more sparkly than in the photos. Nothing better than seeing those little leaves curled up with frost. They are all frosty. The RD girls have a good thick coating of small trichs... Yummy!

SantB, congrats on a stupendous set of plants. Every time I see GTH in a grow I think "I should grow that strain" and yours look amazing. You are at that awesome feeling time where even if you had to chop the buds look nice enough to harvest. I always breathe a sigh of relief at that time.

On the subject of easy lazy growing I am going to tell you straight up that Doc's high brix is the easiest growing I have ever had. I fill a bucket with water and add a dollop of drench and a tiny splash of tea. I don't even measure anymore. And no pH adjustment. I no longer dread going to the room when tired on a non water day and finding that they need water. Easy peasy just make a bucket or two and water away. When that used to happen with my hydro grow it was mixing up Bloom,micro, grow, silica, boost, check ppm, then pH down, wait, check pH, adjust, wait, check and water. Then siphon off the runoff so salts don't build and flush every few weeks.

Oh yeah with Doc's Kit once or twice a week I foliar feed the plants. But it's a small price to pay! Give it a shot and if you don't like the results you can send all the buds to me!

I've been thinking hard about Docs kit for quite a while. Frankly, it seems a natural progression in "organic" MJ, and that's what interests me most.. Well, the massive, frosty buds you brixers all seem to produce every time are a good incentive too! I will get there. My style is more Coots, and it works.. I am finding, thanks to Grizzs observations, that I am over-feeding veg nutes. My compost may be too green, plus I have no self restraint... Non-MJ looks a bit sick, you chuck fert at it til it's green again. Done. So I gotta get out of that mind set.. But I will just add more perlite for now to increase air and dilute the mix a bit. And not add ANY nutes til flower from now on...
Hempy appeals for the simplicity, yes.. But I am scared of PPMs and EC etc. etc. Docs kit would be great. I will get a kit sooner rather than later. You do make it sound easier than hempy! But the HP Pro Mix is expensive here and hard to get, for example.. Any spagnum/peat product here is.. Some of the other soil ingredients may be difficult, too..
Would you be so kind as to quickly jot down a basic list of ingredients I need to start, mainly even substitutes for any of the less common stuff.. I'll look into it a bit more. I did PM Doc a while back re the price etc, so I know all that stuff.. I have a look at the first few pages of his thread... Funny you bring it up.. I know I've been talking about a change of grow style but I would like to keep it all as organic as possible... High Brix popped back in my head a couple days ago as an option... I need a worm farm, which is in the cards anyway when it starts to warm up.. Might be too late for next grow but one after...?

I'm a bit curious about how it goes with no aeration.. EWC and peat would be a bit muddy??
 
Pro mix is just basically peat and perlite so I have thought about just buying peat and adding perlite. Would chnge my pro mix cost from 50 to 15. What do your potting soil mixes use down there?
 
Standard bags are mostly pine bark. I make my own with coco, perlite and compost, and amendments. Why can't coco be used in hibrix.. Too salty? Too alkaline?
Peat and sphagnum are like 10-20$ for a tiny bag of 5lt or so.. Probably are better deals but I can't find them! 25 lt bags of Canna/ Fox Farms type stuff is around 50$ depending on source where I am.. Ebay is pretty much the same, and you gotta pay post on top! ProMix would be about the same as what you pay, which is crazy.. Thought you'd be paying half that at least..

Wonder if they'd post if I gave them a call? Haven't got much spending at the moment, just not working. Probably two weeks in two months almost three.. Money's almost ran out, thought I'd be back into it this week but it's looking like next, lol...
 
Worth a try... I'll dig up the other mobs number and pm it.. Try calling around your local shops(?), mite be illegal to post... I doubt it. I bought my iso mail order.. Lot of coin but 1 lt should go far if you're stingy..
