Fncg's Grow 0.5/1.0 Hempy 2L Perpetual Sea of Green

My girlfriend was kind enough to take care of feeding the babies while I was out of town for Christmas. She's the best. :circle-of-love:

They're going nuts on this BPN, I'm looking back at my pictures from just ten days ago when they transplanted into the 2l pots, and it's amazing how quick they grow.

:cheer:

Feels like it's going to be time again for some trimming soon, hopefully the clones start to take root and phase 1.0 of this project can really begin!

Speaking of clones...:helpsmilie: I think I may have pulled the humidity dome off of them too soon. They were kinda crowding their little plastic ceiling, so I removed it. Two days later, the rockwool cubes are bone dry, and everybody's getting really droopy. I hit them each with a dropper full of pure water, and put the dome back on in hopes of reviving them. Conditions in the cabinet are 66-79 degrees, and humidity in the 33-41% range. Thoughts? Seems kinda low to me, but I don't want to take dramatic action without hearing opinions first.

Yes yes please your baby's back in the dome and they will be fine. May take a few hours but they should pop right back up. Young clones need real high humidity, you need to ween them off slowly. I leave the lid on for the first 48 hours (this is important). Helps to keep 100% humidity. Then open the lid for 5-10 min 3 times a day. Slowly give them more time in open air. This will help you with wilting.

they look thirsty, i havent cloned any yet myself, but i think they like lots of humidity, temp seems ok to me, maybe a little warmer... they look healthy enough just need a drink.

:thanks:

I put the dome back on the clones that same day, and they've revived very nicely. And furthermore, one of them is showing the tip of a root out the bottom of the rockwool cube! :cheer:

Temperatures are stabilized quite a bit since shutting off the (overpowered) circulation fan, and there's still decent air movement in the enclosure with the intake fan down at the bottom. I think the cabinet is finally getting dialed in and stabilized, as far as environmental conditions are concerned.

The six main girls have gone wild again on their Blue Planet Nutrients mix, and have climbed back up into the lights again. Time for a trim, and another set of clones.

Everybody as of yesterday afternoon, before they get snipped again...

Some of the Lavenders have good lower branches going, and since they were taller than I wanted for bonsai moms anyway, their main stems get taken down one node. I think I'll be able to get them short and fat over a couple more iterations of this type of trimming. The Lavenders each produce 1-2 cuts that seem large enough to clone, the Trainwrecks (the two on the far left) are still too small, but they seem to have found their nutrient reserves and are filling in very quickly.

Six new clones go into the tray, and hopefully the six already there will all be showing roots and ready for transplant into 2l homes within a few more days. Once I get them planted, it's 12/12 time and then the real grow begins. :circle-of-love:

The six moms after their haircuts. I love these girls already, their main stems are getting fat, woody, and strong. Amazing watching how fast they're growing from little scraggly babies into mature plants.

Thanks, keep the great advice and suggestions coming, and man, I can't say enough for how awesome these Blue Planet Nutrients are. Wow.

:Namaste:

Clone update 1/4/2012

:cheer::circle-of-love:The babies have roots!!!!:circle-of-love::cheer:

17 days after they were initially placed in the RW cubes (12/18) and we've got roots on 3 of 6 clones. Hopefully the other three come through soon, and then *eek* I've gotta get some more 2l bottles going. I suspect I lost a couple days when they dried out with the dome removed, and these ones didn't get the angle cut/stem scraping that I now know about.

Everything else is going great, my Trainwrecks are reaching out with huge fan leaves, and will be ready to trim for clones in another week or so, and the Lavenders are already visibly filling back in after their trimming three days ago.

Time to pick up another bunch of bottles, dump out the purple drank (gross) and get them ready for transplant.

Oh, and some more lights...grr. I don't have my 12/12 area set up yet. Guess I didn't really expect this to all happen so quickly.

These babies amaze me over and over.

:cheer::cheer: Roots/clones are off to an excellent start! BPN doing its thing, it has my girl vegging healthy and quickly too. I think the results will be great:thumb:

Your plants look very healthy brother. Push them to the limit!

Thanks Corey. The stuff you sent is awesome. I'm a natural brown thumb, with an innate ability to kill off nearly any plant, and these babies are thriving with your nutes! I switched them to the "Growth" concentrations a couple days ago, watching for any signs of nute burn, but nothing yet. Grow 12.5 ml/gal, Micro 7.5 ml/gal, and Bloom 7.5 ml/gal.

And it seems, with that change, they're going absolutely crazy, sprouting huge leaves and putting on a couple inches a day, even under very modest fluorescent bulbs in the mom cabinet. Everything looks green and healthy. :cheer: Even my two Trainwrecks, the scraggly little discount clones, are putting out fans like this (and keep in mind I've got BIG hands)

Can't say enough for this perlite/vermiculite 2l hempy setup, fed with Blue Planet Nutrients. It's pretty much idiot proof, as I'm demonstrating every day.

Today I had roots showing on all six of the clones I pulled on 12/18, so total of 20 days to root from my poorly executed first set of cuttings. They just got transplanted into new 2l bottles, and are set up alongside the original 6 plants to veg under the 18/6 light in the mom cabinet for a week or so until I get the bloom "room" set up.

Growth on the main plants continues at a mind-boggling (to me) pace. They're gonna be back up in the lights for a third time within a few more days.

IMAG06892.jpg

Looking like a week to 10 days between sets of clones at this rate. Talk about perpetual, I can already barely keep up with these girls and they're still baby moms. I'm so stoked for what the next few months are gonna look like. Next round of clones, sometime next week, looks like I'll have 8-10 cuttings off the Lavender Wrecks and 4 off the Trainwrecks. Fingers crossed everything stays on track!

Thanks Twelve! :thanks:

One of these days I've gotta break out the big camera and get these girls some proper photos, instead of using the cell phone.

Whew. This is picking up pace faster than I anticipated. Pictures tomorrow, but for tonight, a brief update:

The 6 moms were up into the lights again, and really starting to crowd each other for space. Time for clone round 3. Round 1 was cut on 12/18, showed roots in 15-18 days, and were transplanted on day 20, Jan 7th. Clone round 2 (6 plants also, all Lavender) was cut on 1/1, and three of the six are now showing roots, only 10 days later! Angled cut, shaving the last 1/2" of stem, and some lemon juice in the water used for the rockwool cubes has cut my rooting time almost in half! :cheer:

And tonight, the third round.

Twenty eight clones.

Eight trainwrecks, and twenty Lavenders.

These little moms are already on pace for 20-30 clones every ten days.

I'm stunned.

:circle-of-love:

Thanks everybody, and goodnight. Pictures tomorrow! :thanks:
