You're getting the hang of this! See how things work?

Each product has an effect. You've seen how Tranpslant can get the roots going. No you see what GI does....green, green, green. And look at the vigor from a single foliar application!

I'll stick around this journal to the finish and make sure you have a plant that could win POTM.

Yes, It's actually "best" the stop spraying a minute before the lights come on, but it won't kill the plants doing it with the lights on.....perhaps a couple burned spots here and there if the sprayer doesn't put out a fine mist like it should.
I have a theory as to why...the stomata are optimal to take in foliars at the start and end of the light cycle....I read that they will close (or don't take in as much) at temps above 80F is there any truth to that? If so then the first 10 minutes would be due to feeding at the coolest time of the day when it will take in the most?

Wait...whhh...what! I've been doing it all wrong all these years!?!? Duggan is gonna get a spanking, ha! Doc can you administer said spanking!?

How does one spray foliars a in the dark and b when in flower (isn't that risky letting light in before scheduled lights on time?)

If it's ok, I'll continue to do as I have for years now which seems to work.

Ideally, the stomata open just before dawn and STAY OPEN all day until dusk. Temperatures outside of optimal and rH outside of optimal close stomata.

If your environment is dialed in, the stomata are always open from dawn to dusk. They close at night.

The reason we don't spray in the middle of the lights-on period is so things don't burn from a prismatic effect of the water droplets.

I wear an LED headlamp and am always walking around during the night of my blooming plants. Nearly every photo I've ever taken has been taken during the dark cycle.....

Outdoors we say to spray in the AM when the birds are singing loudest.

Thank You Doc I was wondering what is the best time to do Foliar sprays. When is the best time to water/feed

Ty, exactly what I needed to hear. I have a ton of stuff I do and having some success, but still not fully aware of why. Trying to fix that and have a better understanding how everything falls into place.

Wow! So many posts since this morning! Glad everyone is learning here! Thanks Doc for staying nearby and for your offer to coach me till the end.

So if I understand correctly the foliar I applied yesterday 1h after lights off was not optimal. Did it actually do something at all? Should I re-apply tomorrow? And since my light schedule is 3am to 7pm, the "best" time for foliar would be around 6:45pm which is a few minutes before lights off?

Yes, the foliar was quite effective! As long as your temps and rH are good, there's nothing wrong with spraying with the lights on.....just make sure you use a fine mist and not a rain shower. The "best" time would be 2:50 AM....lol. Good luck with that.

But anytime is fine as long as you're careful. The least effective time would be lights out, because the stomata close in the dark.

Maybe I wasn't clear but yesterday I applied foliar 1h aftet light OFF - ie. 1h after darkness started.
