First Grow!

i planted them 3 weeks ago today :-) i will go and check on the site i bought them from DP the ones on there look quite big but have been grown straight up and not lst'd,i have read they grow like wildfire in the right conditions and you can lst and top them loads i might just top the other one aswell :-) hmmmmmmm lol :peace:

That height is perfect, you probably can go another 2 weeks easily without nutes. Your plants must really love your dirt, they have really taken off. I wouldn't wait for a deficiency to add nutes, just watch for a slow down in growth & then start. I noticed that with my plants and then introduced them at first a quarter & then up. They are up to 1/2 right now and didn't get one burn.

Great Job! We'll both get there! :bravo:

yeah the little leaves that they feed off to start with are still green i checked them when i was taking pics earlier :-) they must like the soil and the mh bulb best advice i've had so far cheers SABO ;-)
I have seen the same soil i use on a journal on here somewhere its gold label special mix i read up on it and it has perlite and dolomite lime mixed in with it and it's holding a reasonable stable ph of about 6.3-.4 it drops to about 6.0 after a water but then climbs back up :-)

Hey VG, What's up? How are they babies doing? I'm sure that spurt of growth was due to the switch from HPS to MH. It's a totally different light spectrum. It appears that your little babies love that 600 watter MH beating down on them! You are going to get some real dense buds and a great yield! That is one mistake I made when setting my system up, I went with the 400 watter and 2 x 250 watt CFLs. Oh well, I'm sure that I'll upgrade sooner or later to a 600 watter.

Keep on Growing! :headbang:

hey SABO things are good here mate hope you are well :-)
my 3 lil ladies are doing great thanks the one i topped slowed growth for 2 days now she's back on the up ! the two little bits that become the two main colas have started to shoot up they grown about 5mm since yday. its a 400w mh bulb i picked up but i deffo think its to do with the bulb cheers for the advice on that ;-) top man !
what i have noticed is they love the temp around 80f they seem to perk up when it rises if that makes sense so i now try to keep the temp between 79-81f not that they were droopy before just look happier slightly hotter :-) (they were talking to me in my sleep) ha ha :-)
Hows your lil ladies SABO ? cheers harley gives me confidence when i hear that cheers :-) :peace:

Yeah, it's awesome when the leaves point up and they are "Praising the Sky"! I found that my Ladies like it right between 78 & 80 also. The Ladies are great and are all prepped for the flip tomorrow. They got their blossoming nutes this morning. Have the other bulbs ready for the switch. Am just going to tighten down a little and then leave them alone until I see some pre-flowers.

hey SABO :-)

sweet yeah they look awesome when "praising the sky" ;-) really cant wait to see your ladies swell with nugs ! bud porn ! ha ha do you keep the same temps during flowering then? i know the humidity needs to come down to around 40-45% and do you give a 24hr dark period before the flip ?
I'm going to have a little bondage session with my ladies later on today,i need to re-do the tie down as the stems are now too fat for the pipe cleaners and keep escaping its like the great escape ! lol ;-) will post some pics later on :-) the mazar is catching up with the power plants i thought it was going to be a dwarf ! ha ha :peace:

hey guys :-) i've been having a bondage session with my girls here are some pics :-)

Yeah, they're feeding off of the soil now, watch for growth slow down and then introduce some "Goodies".

I flipped last night, so they are officially in Flowering now.

I am keeping the Temps about the same and the humidity down to about 30%. I do increase air circulation though.

woo hoo p-a-r-t-y won't be long now SABO and you will be reaping the rewards.. i'm excited for you ! :-)
i tied my ladies down again earlier and already the leaves have turned to face the light i'll be watching them hour by hour now ! i still have to add the nutes at 1/4 strength to see what it does to the ph of the water before i feed :-) how often you think i should feed ? i was thinking every other watering and increasing the feed a little week by week until full strength . what you think about that mate ? cheers :peace:

The Nutes shouldn't mess with your Ph too much. I think your soil is self-buffering. I started mine out at 1/8th, because there were still a lot of nutrients in the soil. I then went to 1/4th and then up. I watered, watered & then fed. I never fed more than one time a week. Also, I only gave my plants a maximum of 2 cups of water at each watering.

you got a good point by there mate its easier to add more nutes than it is to remove them ;-) the nutes i have say to put 7ml in 1l of water so i spose i could start with 1ml per L of water :-) every bit of advice you have given me has worked a treat your the man ! :-)
you only feed yours two cups of water with feed in SABO ? is that to stop the nute lock out (i think) lol

Thanks for the compliment VG, a lot of people have helped me out, so I'm just passing on the sound advice I was given.

Before even starting this project, I did a lot of reading & I mean a lot. It appeared to me that most of the problems from other new growers were either coming from the wrong Ph levels, too much watering and way too many nutrients or adding nutrients at the wrong time.

The PH was easy to determine, and the trick to watering was not to water too much or too little. If you over water, it basically drowns the roots. If you under-water, it makes the roots work harder to search for the water, thus the roots extend & get bigger and when they get their water, they use it all up. Also, the root ball of the plant never gets water logged and the natural salt build up in the soil is kept to a minimum, thus basically eliminating the need for unnecessary flushing.

When it came to the nutes, I just held off as long as I could (slowed growth) before a deficiency occurred. Again, I always waited for the plant to signal me (Hey Buddy, It;s time to feed me) and I just introduced the nutrients slowly to see how they reacted.

Another member (PeeJay) told me if you go full blast with nutrients, it's almost like trying to feed a baby a T-Bone Steak, with a baked potato, vegetables and a salad. I don't think any of us would do that, so I guess my reasoning was, why try to even to that to a young plant?

So far it's been working & I am just trying to keep it as simple as possible and not overdue the basics.

cheers again SABO
when i was reading up the ph is what bothered me about getting right, i dont know why because i kept tropical fish for years and was used to messing with the ph in the tank to get it right.
As for the watering situation i was reading that under watering can be sorted in 30mins but overwatering alot longer to fix so i've gone for the quickest to correct, slightly on the dry side and its working so far,but as the plants are getting bigger obviously they are drinking more water but i'm going to keep it the way it is watering every 3 days just a bit more each time.
The nutes thing makes sense start with a little and work the dosage up thats a great way to put it the steak version ! ha ha
you are doing great with your girls SABO :bravo: :Namaste: :high-five:
