First Grow White Widow Auto Flower Feminized Soil

And auto flower has the same root system wouldn't you think? The only real difference is they flower immediately verses the veg period of a fem or reg seed. I know the seed companies say start them in the pot they will end in to avoid repot stress. Repot stress is very minimal if done properly. Just my thoughts to share. I hope your lil ones take off soon.
Definitely worth experimenting with next grow. I can do two plants directly into final pot, two into small then final and two into small, medium then final.

Hey guys,
Checked on the plants last night and they are doing well. I’m just wondering if I should be concerned that the pots are not drying out at the same time. Maybe because of the fan. I did grab an oscillating fan that I will install today. At the moment I only have one aimed above the pots. This is what they looked like 12 hours after watering.

of my 2 in soil the one will drink all her water at the snap of a finger and the other takes twice as long, I just feel the weight of the pot and water them different days. You got a triple leaf now :ganjamon:

Hey guys,
Been 22 days now. Sorry havent updated lately, been busy. Some significant growth happening. Humidity was at 59% temperature at 25.9 C ( 78.62 F). Anyone know when or if I should add Cal-Mag. My water PPM is 191. Should I try adding nutes yet or wait. I might have to raise the light for the first time. I will be watering them tomorrow. Soil kind of dry. I have seen spring tails in the wet part of the pots two days ago. Should I be concerned or Will they help the plants.

If the water is 191 ppm I assume that is a tap? if it is then it will have calcium/magnesium in it and you should only have to add cal-mag if you see rusty leaves. Happy frog is amended well I believe so maybe hold off on nutes for a little but someone else may say otherwise. Ladies are looking really nice

Hey,
Thanks for the advice. I been using filtered water for the plants since the beginning. I will probably have to start buying distilled water soon because filtering the water will become tedious. Don’t really want to use tap water because I don’t know what’s in it. I actually picked up the containers for the first time today. I added a couple of drip trays to catch run off. I raised the height of the light a bit as well. Gave them a watering session this morning.

well if the filter doesn't pull it out then just watch them for a def but you should be fine, the def will be a rusty look
I will have to change my watering habit soon. I have a faucet water filter that I’m using at the moment, but this will become tedious as the plants need more. I will have to just buy distilled water and add Cal-Mag. I could also experiment with adding just a bit of Cal-Mag to get my PPM to about 400.

I concur with @JimJonesJr & @r0am1ng st0ner on transplanting. I've done it with a couple of autos. Started in a 5" pot and just waited to see roots at the bottom and the leaves had reached the edge of the pot then put them in their final pots. If they're healthy and you're careful it won't cause any problems. At least it didn't for me. They barely noticed.

The two at the back were 9 days above ground here. Both autos. I transplanted them on day 10. Definitely worth a try on your next grow. Your plants look healthy though which is good. Also I may have been lucky but I use tap water left for a day or two to get rid of chlorine. Never tested PPM and never had to use cal mag.

I agree with @VetSmoke85 Any plant seems to start faster in small pot rather then their final pot size I find but also Autos seem to do better with less stress; the perfect medium is to plant Auto's in a small pot and up pot as soon as you see roots. The only problems I anticipated would come if you were not watching and the roots bundled in the container and had to redirect themselves after the up pot

I don't think you have to worry about adding cal mag for a while unless you switch to distilled water

This was 3 days after transplant. Hadn't slowed a bit. Was just having a quick look at the soil you are using and I couldn't see the breakdown of contents but perhaps try adding some extra perlite next time too. Autos like a nice airy soil those roots can work through easily. I use biobizz light mix and add about 25% extra perlite. I'll stick around to see how these girls do. I'm pretty new to all this myself but will try and help where I can.
That one on the left was a northern lights auto that spent her whole life in that little pot and gave me an oz of lovely smoke

So I've had a good look through your journal and I would say your main issue has been overwatering. Especially early on, so the roots never had to grow out to find water. As others have mentioned lifting your pots to feel the weight is the best way to gauge if they need water. I'd say if you've pre soaked the soil, once your seedling is up they likely won't need anything for about a week or even two. They'll tell you if they do. A flowering plant in that size container would likely only need watering every 2-3 days. It's a common beginners mistake and I luckily had people on my first grow stopping me from doing the same. Let those pots dry out and keep an eye on them. It's better for them to get thirsty than drown them. Hope that's helpful.

I will definitely experiment with putting them in smaller pot then final next grow :).

They look absolutely gorgeous :p. I’ll avoid Cal-Mag for now. Thank you.

Looking forward to my next grow already:)

Sounds good. I’ll hold off for now and keep using filtered

Hey,
I’m using straight Happy Frog soil. I will definitely add some perlite next grow and mix the soil with something else.

Hey how’s it going,
Just curious why you think I over watered the plants? I didn’t presoak the soil. I just used a spray bottle to mist the top when it dries out. Thanks for the tips :)
