First Grow! Lets Go!

Here’s the calculator page

Here are my reading with no humidity added to my tent, looks like im gonna be faced with using a small dehumidifier right in my tent if during flower im going to get it down in the low 40%

The basement RH is usually 45% i’ll play with fan speed to see if i can drop the HR by the time flower time gets here, since the fan speed is so low raising it to 8 or 9 shoukd get me where i wanna be…..eventually

Right now the plants look happy

Remover the humidifier, trying for 50ish percent humidity. Fan is running at 4.

Did a soil PH test just to justify the bluelab pen i bought, it was used but still over $100. One plant was 6.2 the other was 6.4 The plants look healthy. The plant that got watered today was closer to 6.5. The other plant that needs watering tomorrow will probably rise up since i ph the water at 6.5

I believe both my plants have fully recovered from their recent topping because they are growing like crazy, they literally stopped growing while they were catching their breath from the topping

My little “over thought” watering station is really paying off as i use more water now. I aerate 24hrs before with my dechlorinated bucket. Theres always another bucket that has new chlorine water. I have all my little watering cans for seedlings and my ph up/down, its a real little one tent factory down there.

Did some more topping and pruning today. Im getting a handle on too much growth isnt good, but only fan leaves in the way. I cleaned up lower branch stuff that was just growth, not even getting light. I ordered a roll of training wire because its time to start broadening the canopy. It seems the two plants were about two weeks apart in growth, so now they are beginning to even out, catch up with each other. My guess these pots will be good for another month or so, i may transplant or just top dress em for another month time’ll tell

Picked up another tower fan from walmart $24. Did some watering this morning and light pruning of lower leaves not even getting light.

It seems a bit warm in there, any thoughts ….. i moved the controler probe to the canopy level which is the new temp and humidity levels. They seem happy.
Heres a quick VPD calc

Do you have a good floor fan in your tent? Something that can really move the air around and make sure you don't have little micro-climates in your tent. I put a 12" floor fan in my tent and it changed my temps and humidity immediately.

Are you using the automation with your Infinity controller? Instead of setting your fan to a single level, you can have your fan automatically increase as the temperature/humidity go up and really dial in your VPD. It took a little playing around to get it working, let me know if you need any tips.

Please offer advice :0)

My basement HR is 45% The temp is a steady 68°

My (2) floor fans move alot of air, i also have (2) above the canopy. I hung the probe right inbetween the plants at their height, pics to come.

Lets talk automation !!! Im gonna really need it once i get into flower for sure.

PS: The plants look good though :0)

Im checking to see how long it takes to drop temp/RH with the fan set to10…..in the mean time, i know the fan can be programed for variable speeds depending on the need at hand

This is after running the fan at 10 for 25min, i think i will be able to keep dropping the speed till it cant keep up and that will give me an idea of where i need to be.

After 1hr it has remained when it was at the 20min point, do you think i may need a 6” inline at like 75% capacity ? That would be kinda ok, i could use the 4” and controler for a future 2x4 dry tent/vegge tent

I also have a 4” fan with no controler that i could use as an “input to the tent” fan, jus sayin, set em both for half volume and see what happens

Here’s the situation with an inlet and exhaust fan both on medium speed, that humidity went down to that level in the time it took me to tape the hose to the fan….

Still dropping

This is very encouraging since flowering is up next and for the most part, im happy with these results, so cool i had that other fan.

Geez the humidity ended up at 40%

OMG (2) T4’s and my controler !!!! Sky’s the limit !!!!! Hahaha im really enjoying this stuff !

So i have been experimenting too much with my settings, im leaving things here for awhile, they need more humidity
Theres an off set value i use on my controler, -2°F leaf temp which is about right, its 1°-2° Lower than room (tent) temp. Im going to see what that brings.

What i have read is some folks never ever calculate this value, while the other side says its the most important value.

If my math is correct and i can begin to stay aware of how to grow by the numbers, eventually it will follow a pattern that i can successfully follow, without the numbers, by what i’ve seen ect.

Hello all ! The grow is going fine, plants look happy, they had a pretty serious watet droop (dry, not over water) this morning, i can easily water every 24- 36hr now, with the humidity and temp and lites dialed in they seem to be transpiring well. I trimmed out more leaves, and if my wire shows up tomorrow i can start tying down branches.

I did a first TopDressing, the girls look lime green and deficient. The red lines in the stems are red and they are stressed. With dry amendments it’ll be at least a few days or even weeks before they bounce back.

I used 4 cups of worm castings and 3Tbsp of GaiaGreen 444 all purpose with minimal run off, maybe 2 cups of water.
Can i dump that run off back in ???

Watering is very slow, i water wait, water wait, ect ect

I've personally wondered about recycling runoff as well, when I first top dress the run off water is brown....I assume from the nutrients? And then each time after gets clearer and clearer until I top dress again(2weeks).
