First Grow! Lets Go!

My plant is one week old today

There is another PunchCake sprouting out of the soil. The GG4 is having a time

I have come to accept the my GorillaGlue plants aren’t gonna be part of this grow, has anyone had seeds that just wont get going.
Last time i saw an abundance of seeds was wayyyy back in the 70’s when all we had was brown dirt weed, but the seeds were huge. These feminized seeds are really small

I have 2 PunchCake’s, the gorilla glue never made it, i germinated them, planted its little tail face down and nothing, so im gonna vegge the crap out of these two till they give me the canopy i need to flip the switch to flower, no hurry. The larger of the two seems happy, its seedling container is 1.5 quart and has living soil, 444 all purpose and 20% worm castings, my guess besides just a spritz of water they should be good for awhile.

I wont be putting my seeds directly in soil anymore. Im gonna make a nursery grow station for seedlings, i watched a really cool video, the points i took away were, at least a 1/2” to 3/4” tap root in moist paper towel, very humid (85%) and warm (80°), it was tough to keep my big ol’ 4x4 close to that. I dont want to leave things to chance with the cost of some seeds being upwards to $20 each. I just “thought” every seed pops, not the case…..a little more care needs to be taken……for me to feel like i did the most i could to create a good environment

Im glad i used 1.5l pots with enough food, theres very little to do but NOT water too much, im using a spray bottle with 6.5ph on the little guy and a measuring cup for the bigger one, i can see first hand how they really dont require a lot of H2o it this stage. Once the third node appeared the plant is really taking off, hope the little guy catches up :0)

Im trying to not get too far ahead, but a cheap 2x4 would do me well for drying.

Seems the shock of topping had had little negative effect on my plant, onward and upward.

Im looking forward to removing the humidifier from my tent once my second plant catches up to my bigger one.

My basement is a steady 70°/43%RH I’ll be setting the inline fan to “on/low” and ride out the rest of the vegge

LittlePlant is doing well, still just spraybottle watering for her, her big sister gets measuring cup watering still, no “watercan” watering yet. Water is PH to 6.5, I haven’t used the soil PH tester yet, everyone looks happy.

Lites are about 2’ away and they are at 133 watts, once the little one sprouts her big boy (girl) leaves i’ll juice em up a bit.

The big one is tolerating the higher humidity that the younger one needs. My hope in a few weeks i can drop it to 50%RH and leave the fan on continuously low speed. Im cycling fan on and off to maintain the higher readings.

I have to plan ahead if i wanna dovetail grows. I’ll be vegging new plants in a small 2x4 until the big plant tent (4x4) get cut and they need a place to dry, i’ll be drying in the 2x4. Then switch the seedlings over to the 4x4. Looks like if i start 4 or 5 plants about two months till the end of flower, it will be a nice transition

Because my one plant is small i have to keep the humidity higher, like in the 70%-80%. I noticed little dead spots on the bigger plants leaves that shares space in the tent.
My little plant has sprouted its big girl leaf with 5 serrated leafs, im lowering the humidity to 50% now with hopes this goes away…….

Im now running the humidifier on low and ramped up my inline fan to maintain the new environment and get more air in there :0)

Topped my smaller of my two plants, i can already see how the smaller one has a bit more stretch to it, the bigger heftier plant was smooshed by the low lite, there are a million variables to growing, this is still fun :0)

I was so scared i was gonna drown my plants and kill them, but like everything, once ya start to do it, its easy. Theres a big difference between “once watered”, a “day later” weight. I keep saying it, the pace is what takes time to get use to, theres no choice but to slow down…

So, like this is so new and i got all kinda interesting things going on.

So, im playing around with this new lux meter (be nice) and i had raised up the lites and was just all over the place when i had this thought.
Whats the difference between lites being 24” above the canopy and like 300par, or lites 36” above the canopy and 300par ??? Now the lites at 36” will, and do require more watts……just dont know if theres a difference

Another intetesting thing, i was watching the humidity rise in the tent, using the bluetooth app. I went down stairs to find my basement dehumidifier off/full. I use a garden hose attachment so it goes till it dies, but the angle of the floor, made all the water go in the bucket. It made the humidity rise in the damn tent, go figure
