First Grow - Indoor Now - Outside & Inside Later

Update time again for a number of things:

Firstly, using the THC Bomb for pain control. As stated earlier, I have been using it about an hour before going to bed and have found it to be great for both the pain and for allowing me to sleep through the night mostly without waking. I have been on a combination of Naproxen+acid reducer for a number of years now. The acid reducer is needed to combat the severe acid refux cause by the Naproxen. The Naproxen was fairly effective, depending on weather, for arthritis but did little for nerve pain.

Since I started using cannabis, I have stopped taking my evening dose of my prescription as the THC Bomb worked much better. Yesterday I used the last of my prescription and debated on going to get more today or try the THC Bomb for daytime use. About 10am I decided to try it and see if I could still go about my normal activities and it worked great. Didn't make me drowsy or too high and the nerve pain is gone only mild pain in my elbow, that I can deal with. Hopefully I can continue this and stay of the prescriptions as they do all kinds of weird and nasty things and aren't really all that effective :)

Last evening I decided to pull the harvested plant out of the pot to see what the root system looked like and salvage as much soil as I could. Trying to get the soil separated from the roots was no easy feat. Sticking my fingers in the soil was almost like trying to push your fingers through a batt of fiberglass insulation or steel wool. After about 45 minutes of working the soil/root mass and losing 25-30% of the rootball, here was what was left.

The remainder of the roots and soil will get composted (after I build a compost bin), along with the stems I ground up, and later feed to the worms in my worn bin. More worm bins coming in the near future as well ;) All my garden waste will be composted and cycled through the worms :)

Here are the 3 Bomb Girls left under the lights who will all be chopped throughout the week this week.

Lastly, my curious (some may say mad) minds quest for knowledge and experimentation has led me to delve into my next foray into the unknown. Sometime ago while looking into plant propagation through cuttings, I came across "root cuttings". Root cuttings were intended, from what I read, for woody perennials like trees, raspberry cane etc. Cannabis is an annual but also woody so me being me thought, hey why not, lets give it a go :P So here are some root cuttings from the girl I harvested yesterday.

They have been put in a dark cool place to see what happens LOL

Great news that the MJ helps you get through the day without pharmaceuticals TheCelt! Hopefully you will never need to use them, I'll cross my fingers, toes and legs for you on that one. Nice idea about the root cuttings, I have some trees that I just planted the same (apple, cheery, plum etc) and they're growing well. If it's the case with MJ that would be amazing. All the best :)

It's good to hear that the fruits of your labor are proving to be effective for your pain management. Your body and your wallet will thank you for the change from pharma to au natural meds.

I'll be staying tuned and following your progress with the root cuttings. I'm curious to see how this works out.
:peace:

Happy to hear the THC Bomb is doing the trick!

Good luck with your experimentation, that's an great thing to try, why not?? Good luck!

Today it was time to do the final cut of one of my Cherry Bombs. She was starting to show some nice reddish coloring on some buds. That leaves 2 indoor girls left yet to harvest.

After trimming the first round of washed bud after it dried for 2 days, which was not easy, I decided to trim this round after washing and before hanging to dry. This turned out to be MUCH easier, even easier then trimming unwashed green bud. The leaves seem to stand out stiff from the bud and being wet, it doesn't gum up the scissors like unwashed bud. I never had to scrap the blades once. I bud is still plenty sticky while handling it but the scissors stay clean :)

Well this has nothing to do with cannabis, but my other half is making rolls for a beach wedding we are attending tomorrow for some good friends. She just had me try one fresh outta the oven. I told her "I would say they were better than sex but I would be lying" LOL

Good answer bro! Had you told her that they were better than sex you may have found yourself sleeping outside with your outdoor girls.

If her roll recipe calls for butter or margarine then I suggest tweaking that recipe and using cannabutter as a replacement for the margarine. That would sure kick the vibes up a notch or two or three over at the beach wedding.

Funny you should say that mate, when the wife started I asked if she wanted some herb to spice them up ;) she laughed but decided it probably wasn't a good idea LOL Even though we are good friends with the bride and groom, we won't likely know too many others.

I AM gifting the groom some of my THC Bomb though ;)

What a lucky groom!
Have fun and enjoy bro. Sounds like it will be a day to remember.

Root cutting, interesting idea, but doubt it works with mary jane, wish you goodluck and following.

I gave a friend a clone I started in a 1.7. Talked to him the other day and asked how that plant was doing, he said great, I said what did you repot it into, he said, he didn't he just cut the lower 1/3 of the roots, filled with soil and off he went. I've never done it, but I've heard a few people talking about doing it, or having done it

Hey guys, I'm back and had an awesome time. It was just a small affair, about 40 people, and there was enough food, liquor and weed to supply a small nation LOL One of the guys and I had a few hits of my pipe and then BBQd 65 steaks, dozen or so burgers and couple dozen hotdogs.

After eating, then the party started, live music, booze and weed in full flow. Not sure what time the party wound down, I hit the wall about midnight or shortly after LOL

Sounds like you had a great time TheCelt great stuff :) I've heard people get the munchies but you and your mate might be pushing the boat out a bit with 65 steaks and a dozen burgers/hotdogs after that pipe  Sounds like it was a great do mate, all the best :thumb:

Cardio food and copious amounts of cannabis. My kind of party!

OK friends, time for some bud porn and UncleC, don't be drooling on the keyboard, it'll short out ;)

Here is my 2nd Cherry Bomb almost ready for her final cut. She developed some awesome coloring :)

:thedoubletake::thedoubletake:
Good Gawd Man!! That indoor Bomb is looking sexy!! Are you running low temps/RH in order for her to do this?

The cola on your outdoor girl is going to be frigging HUGE by the time she finishes. I think you'll need to get some stakes to support her before long.

By the way, I began wrapping my keyboard with Saran Wrap before logging on to :420:
Those replacement keyboard were beginning to put a real dent in my pocket book.
:blunt::peace:

You';re right about those colours there TheCelt, they're looking beautiful. As for the outdoor girls all I can say is wow! They look great and you're so lucky to be able to grow outside. Nice work there :thumb:

TBH UncleC, I didn't do anything intentionally to turn her color. I didn't even know the Cherry Bomb would change color LOL But, since the humidity here has dropped, I have not had to run my dehumidifier the past couple weeks to stave off the budrot so my night time temperatures have dropped into the 50s.

And yes I NEED to start looking at supports for the outdoor girls and get them in place before I leave mid-September for Manitoba. I will be away for the last 2 months off the month when things will be really fattening up.

Hi Kraize and thanks :) growing outside here is somewhat risky, still not legal here but unless you are growing large plantations, the law tends to look the other way. Usually they will only drop in on someone if there is a complaint and then they tend to only destroy the plants and give a warning if you are home, or leave a card saying "better luck next year"
