First Grow DIY Box & Bagseed

Alright, transplant complete. All 3 girls are in 5 gallon pots. Looking at the root mass it was time.

After the transplant I only had 4 L of water ready, oops. So I have more sitting out now for a good drink tomorrow night.

And the ladies in their new digs:

I've been looking at the girls and thinking alot about head room available and I think I might flip them over tonight to 12/12 as I don't think it can have them grow much more with the new pots. I'm already imagining the hole I might need to cut in the roof.

Now B2 if I didn't know better I would say it's already starting to form buds. The tips are bulbus and feels different than new leaf growth. I'll try to take some pics of it later for oppinions.

I forgot I hadn't light proofed yet. Flip tomorrow after some duct taping :) I swear that the B's are flowering, is it possible they are Auto's? I have a couple of photos but I made them mono to get rid of the purple but i will try to get some natural light shots.

B2 I'm pretty damn sure is budding. Little white hairs have now appeared. B1 looks similar just a couple days behind.

Poor A1 still just plucking along but I'm not sure what to do at this point. If they are Auto's will they be alright going 12/12?

They're likely just showing pre-flowers which is common when the plant reaches maturity. I'd continue to treat them like they're photos. Autos will be fine under 12/12 but would benefit from the additional light of 20/4.

I took the girls out for a good drink today and didn't want to flood my box lol I did a good inspection and found a couple of leaves on A1 that I don't like. Looking at the charts best fit seems to be potassium deficiency?

What do you guys think? They were lower leaves and there were a few smaller leaves as well. I did give them a light feed them day as well, little nervous as there are some nutes in the soil.

My tap water is coming in at about 133 ppm. When I add my nutes at 3 ml in 4l of water I sit at about 240. If I add a bit of Epsom salts it does go to about 400.

(Realised I also forgot to mention I ground up some egg shells and mixed it in with the soil on transplant to add extra calcium)

I agree it does look like a potassium deficiency. Do you think the leaves have been this way for a while and you haven't noticed? The rest of the plant seems healthy so you may have corrected the issue without ever knowing about it. If your pH was low at some point early on, could have caused this. My advice is to be patient, give her another few days to a week. If she remains healthy then flip to flower. Cheers!

...agreed...overall health looks good...you could check your PH to determine if it's in range...you could top dress with some kelp meal or greensand to amend potassium levels...I don't remember what soil you are using, but they should be far enough along that a light feeding wouldn't hurt...egg shells take a long time to break down to provide for the plant, unless they have been processed...there is a recipe on site someplace, using vinegar I believe...having a bottle of CalMag on hand is always a good idea as well, but as said, relax for a bit and see how they do...don't wanna' start chasing a problem if there isn't one...cheerz...h00k...:rollit::passitleft:...

I decided to go ahead and flip them tonight. They are now on 12/12. You guys are right the overall plant looks healthy and it is possible it's now corrected. I have been very conservative with nutes. pH could have been an issue as I was using spring water which from what I read has pretty low pH, now that I'm running with tap water it should be better.

For the record it's day 55 for the A (48 I f you knock a week off for seedling) and B's are 45 (38 - seedling week).

I'm super excited to start seeing some buds, I found a hydro store near by and might check out what they have.

...kewl...just don't buy into all the sales hype...I did just as well using Miracle Gro as I did with what I call designer Nutes for a fraction of the cost...these days, I'm doing LOS, with better lighting, and more comfortable with what I'm going to consume.,.a couple good journals to follow would be bobrowns...Vanstanks...or Ilikemstickys...some really good soil guys...cheerz...h00k...:rollit::passitleft:...

Girls were out for another drink today, pots were feeling light and I wanted to give some more nutrients. A1 is showing further signs of a problem. Not sure if it's a K deficiency as originally thought as it looks to be starting as rusty spots on the leaves and appears to be spreading from lower leaves going up.

You can see it in the whole plant shot now too.

I have upped the nutes I'm using to 5ml for 4L of water. Ppm still under 300 with that. My thinking is that the directions for house plants is 8ml in 5L and outdoor is 15ml in 5L. I think the outdoor plant directions was morr accurate as they are using more than just a houseplant.

I have continued to add a pinch of Epsom salts to try and help if it's mg def, but I think I will invest into some calmag supplements.

Looks more like Manganese deficiency. The new growth looks good. Keep note if good turns bad. Or flush your medium because common cause for MD is too much iron. If coco, flush is no big deal. If soil, I yield to soil experts on flush regiments. Good luck growmie!

Looks like Calcium, to me! Are you using R/O water? If so, you need to add Cal-Mag since the R/O process strips that out and they don't put sufficient amounts in most nutes.

I'm using tap water that I let sit. I'm going to hit the hydro store tomorrow for some calmag and see what happens.

I think you're going to be chasing your tail. The effected leaves don't get better only new growth can tell the story. If it were an active calcium deficiency all the new growth would be effected as it's closer to the light. If it were manganese the newer growth would also be effected. I personally hate staring at ugly leaves so I would pluck them and move on. A small amount of cal mag can't hurt.
