First Grow: Blue Sherbet Bagseed

Ok well I guess it's settled then xs1000 it is.. here's a few pics from when I got home I did some trimming and a lil more LST, an the baby must have enjoyed the weather today looks like it grew a little bit today you can see why I need to get a light that spreads so I can get princess to stretch outwards instead of straight upwards..

I don't have experience with it but did have some time to look it up and compare to the XS1000, and there are two very big differences in my opinion.

The Aray 2 has a much, much lower PPFD output at 12" than the XS1000. This is definitely something you need to consider, because at 6" with the Aray you're not even seeing 1000 PPFD, you're at ~930. At 12" height with the XS1000 you'll be seeing 1260 PPFD.

This is where you really have to know what you're going to be growing in in the foreseeable future. If you keep your current tent you may find the XS1000 requires a greater distance between the light and the top of the canopy to reduce the chance of burning and bleaching (buds turn white from too much light, and burn if too hot/close to the light). This means you can't grow Princess, or anything else, as tall as you would be able to if you got the Aray 2.

You're looking at a trade-off here. Higher light intensity means more vigorous growth and bud building, but with that comes less growing height in your current tent (and potentially more heat, though this is debatable between the two lights). If you got the Aray 2 you won't have an intense light, but you'd be able to get the light closer to the plant and can grow it taller.

If it were me, I'd go @ViparSpectra because of what Mel mentioned above, but also because it's higher powered. I'd rather deal with a strong light than a short tent, so I'd replace the tent with a taller one if it became an issue down the road.
Thank you for your detailed evaluation. XS1000 do has a higher PPFD value, which is more favorable for plant growth. If you are worried about the height, we are equipped with adjustable ropes hangers, so you can adjust the height you want at will to achieve the ideal condition.

I do like it, but that's based on what it was replacing.
I would probably go with the xs1000 or xs1500 today. They cost less (here in Canada), @ViparSpectra are a sponsor, and I like the spectrum of the xs lights better.
Full disclosure though, I'll be starting a sponsored journal with the xs2000 in a day or two, as soon as I have seedlings to show.
Believe XS1000 or XS1500 won't let you down! :thumb:

So many weird hands..
She looks happy to me!
Well I tried to pull her arms back down and out, but she just keeps growing to the middle 🤷 I guess I will just have to wait for her light 👍👍💚💚
Can you take a closer shot of how you're training her?

You need to move the hooks out, or add more, as the branches grow out if you want her to grow wider. When the tips turn back up and she grows a bit, you bend them back down further out.
I've had as many as 5 hooks on one branch getting progressively further from the main stem.
Have you checked out the quadlining thread? @Azimuth may have recommended it earlier, I think it's called the quadsquad.
And @Carcass has a journal that shows the kind of results you can get with hooks spreading the plant out.

Here it is. I'm not sure where the hooks come into it, so you might want to go to the more recent posts, and ask questions.

Yes I do I slide them out a little bit every day and I tighten the bottom, but I really only been having her tied down for 3days , an I have checked out the quadlining thread, I will continue to move and tighten the hooks, I just get nervous pulling on her lol..

So I woke up to princess deciding she don't want to be tied down no more 😂. No really I guess 🤔 maybe I don't wrap it all the way around. But I was looking at how healthy her stock is she was very skinny when I put her in this pot and now WOW, yep I stand by self watering pots..

After, I hope she doesn't pull out of these.

Why do you say this, are the stems splitting on you, or is it just because she doesn't look happy? If the latter, the ends will turn up in a day or two and you'll have to do it again but it's well worth the effort.

Ok, good. I'm going to put you down in the "satisfied user" column. So far, the dissatisfied column is empty but we're still looking. :laughtwo:

Lol no sorry look at the last picture first, she pulled through the hooks, so three of her arms were unhooked.
