First Grow - Bag Seed

Talk about a kick to the junk if it turns out you cant use that dream sized room!..

i would put up a wall and spilt that room into a 2/3 section for flower and 1/3 section for veg.

One thing i like about building your own rooms or even plant stands, light stands or whatever. Use wood, because you can attach shit to it.. Like for me, i have two 2'x4' flood tables that i have held up by a stand made of 2x4's. If i wanted to say make a wooden frame for a light, i can easily screw in more 2x4's to build this support and attach it directly to the stand.

A good example of something like this is called "Med-man Tables" Google them, they're pretty sweet. They're Nutrient Film tables (NFT) that have been tweaked by "Med-Man", A Canadian seed breeder, who used to live out here in BC but since moved out East to get into the medical marijuana field, made from plywood, 2x6's and some clear poly with a light frame made of 2x6's attached directly to the table.

My point being is wood is so versatile.

But if you dont have a load of power tools or any building experience, i would suggest going the tent route.

Do you plan to light the tent with CFLs?

i plan on doing two rubermaid 30 gal totes per plant with two150 watt cfls one 2700k and one 6700 k rite now i am going on paycheack to paycheack but i hope to get acouple totes from my buddy i will post pics to night just fimmed four moved one outside and repoted the biggest two the fimm tured out nice and i started lst this mourning on the pre fimmed plant hope you guys enjoy the post pics will come around seven when i mist again
as for now i bid you addue thank you for all the help aslo does anyone know of any 1212 with rubbermaid gro i seen some on youtube but never to the flowering stage thank you

I have never grown soley with cfls nor used rubbermaid totes....i dont know of anyone that does on here, but i only know a small portion of the many members here:)lol.........i can tell you that in my opinion LST is much easier for someone new to growing cannabis than scrog.......with LST you can still access the top of the pot without having a screen in your way.....you can also still move the plant if needed......although GT is right....when you lst the next day or two you will have to adjust the tie point as the tip will turn up towards the light so it is an everyday to every other day chore, but gives you the ability to train it to fill your space by tying the branches in positions you choose for it to grow.......i think scrog is probably a better yielder and easier to achieve a very even canopy, but for me i like the flexibility of LST:)

thank you green dreams i started lst 10 am lights on and seperated all four new growts with a piece of wire i am going to lst them pics will be on tonight

so i have fimmed four and keept one all natural here are the picks largest to smallest plant i also repoted one is a 1 1/2 gal bucket and a 2 liter with the top cut off is all i had to my expence also i have a buddy in there now found him the other day hope u like it named him bob marley lol

Welcome to the garden Bob:rofl:......ok.....on your LST Bryan you want to tie the branches down which still have a little growing to do.....you have the fan leaves tied down right now....that wont give the results you will be looking for......but you got the right idea....if you go to my journal and go back to sunday which is when i do regular photo updates and look at my critical jack herrer in flower.....if you can zoom in on the pic and you should be able to see what i have tied onto...which i use 12 inch fuzzy wire ties.....they are flexible and reuseable......like 4 bucks on cramazon.....anything will work though.......anyway if you cant see it good then let me know and tomorrow when lights are on i will take a pic of the base of my plant to give you an idea:)......Happy Growing:)

Ok...i see what you have done.....i have never started that early with lst, but i like the way you have done it:):high-five:
You wont be able to tell thier individual sex until they are mature enough....i have never grown 12/12 from seed on regular seeds so i dont know if they take longer to show or not......did you go to the blackout kush link on previous post?.....he would be able to answer you question on that as that is how he grows....i may have missed it but did you ever say what brand and type of nutrients are you using?

My friend gave me some marked 1-1-1 and i jushte started with the big ones on some 2-7-7 dont know what thay are as they are labeled and its in a big clean almost amoniq botel loking container he said 1'1'1 was $fir veg state and 2-7-7 is for flower will these work its wat ive been usin at least the 1'1-1

I am not to good with the NPK values and what is the preferred amount.....i use organic and hydroponic nutrients and i go by the recommended amounts on thier feeding charts.....i need to learn more about the actual numbers, but one thing at a time for me:).....i am gonna copy and paste your question on my journal and see what we can comme up with :)

Nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P), and potassium (K) and are the three main nutrients your marijuana need and are expressed as the N-P-K fertilizer ratio on your nutrient package or bottle. An N-P-K formula such as 15-30-15 means that the ingredients are 15% nitrogen (N), 30% phosphorous (P), 15% potassium (K) and 40% inert ingredients.

Cannabis requires a higher nitrogen ratio during the vegging and early flowering stage as it is the main component for growth. During flowering we need lower nitrogen and higher phosphorous NPK fertilizer ratio.
Unfortunately there is no general consensus on the optimum NPK fertilizer ratio as legal restrictions prevent the large-scale testing.
Even given the exact same NPK ratio any number of nutrients could be vastly different in the way that they work due to the NPK elements being bound up in molecular compounds with differing degrees of bio-availability.

heres a peek at some popular brands and their numbers:

Flora Grow for vegging: 2-1-6

Flora Bloom for flowering: 0-5-4

Advanced Nutrients

Connoisseur Part A for vegging: 4-0-4

Connoisseur Part B for flowering: 1-5-6

Your nutrients you received.. are they powder or liquid

The N-P-K ratios you mentioned for flower seem good, however, for veg, its a little low on the nitrogen and potassium.

theres nothing to say they wont work at all. but when you purchase brand name nutrients, you can read the labels and know exactly whats in the nutrients. Also, the nutrient bottles usually come with a mini feeding schedule or at best, written instructions as to the directed usage.

Another good benefit to buying your own nutrients, is you can then go onto the website of that company, and download their feeding schedules for your own reference, then you will be able to play around with the strength of nutrient solution and judge whats best for your plants.

As for determining whether your largest plant is Indica or Sativa dominant, you will need to see some more growth first before making that judgement, as many hybrids can grow just like a mix of indica and sativa during their entire life.. only some phenotypes fully display characteristics of their predominant plant type.

I've grown for a minute under 6 CFL's and I was pretty impressed all things considered. They do create a bit of heat as the bulbs are ballasted, but with all the color options and wattages for a cheap price, they are great for growers on I tight budget. Shit, I was under the impression that I was 420's only Broke Ass Grower (joke for ^^^ That guy^^^).

Also regarding your nutes, if that's all you have access to, I say run with it. In the future funds will trickle in and you can upgrade as you can afford to and the quantity and quality will improve right along with your skills. By the end of your first harvest you'll have a much better idea of what you can do and what you'll need to do it, but collecting devices and materials along the way to complement your growing skillset is NEVER a bad idea.

Quick note; Higher levels of Nitrogen (N) for veg plants (which you are skipping). Higher Phosphorus (P) for flower feed. Another pretty important factor is what kind of water are you mixing your nutes with? Tap water (dechlorinated) or Reverse Osmosis?

Edit - I mistakenly associated equal parts of GH Flora nutes with NPK values so I omitted that part in the above paragraph. Thank God I caught that mistake.
