First CFL Grow Using 30 Watt CFLs

keeping my fingers crossed mate, its been a good while since i started so cant wait till get to the end of this first grow, and hopefully many more to come, cant wait to finally get to sample all the work i have put in, i got a lot of people to thank for helping me and giving me advice, ive got the chance to help another grower out with the lights im no longer using, so im giving someone else the chance to grow good plants with little funds, they have started a journal on here and are in same country as me, so ill be sending him the cfls im not using and adaptors i no longer need, if i can help someone else improve their grow then i will do, i got help with mine so its the right thing to do, im not expecting much from the plants and anything is better than nothing, but from now on each grow will get better and better, im taking a risk but its my health i gota think of and not whats right and wrong with my country,

a quick update cuz i need to try and get some sleep, its 3:40am and im wide awake as usual, anyways i gave my plants another feed today and moved up to the bloom schedule so im one below the last feeding stage on bpn, i had a good look at my plants today and the 2 that are in flower are now getting loads of crystals on them, their are loads of little leaves covered in crystals at the bottom of the buds, and crystals are starting to be formed all over the place, ill try and take some pics when the lights are on.
i also managed to get a great bargain today off the auction site, i managed to get a 60x microscope for less than £2.00 and £0.50p for postage so i bought 2 of them, it says their used for testing bank notes and coins, it has 2 normal led lights on it and a uv bulb for checking bank notes, its one of the small handheld single lense type ones, theirs loads on their from china and hong kong for less than a quid but i found a seller in my country that sells them for slightly more, so if you need to get one of these then id say you wont get cheaper than that, when it comes ill give a report on it as it might end up been a load of crap, the seller has got loads of feedback and mainly sells bankrupt stock, he has sold hundreds of them all ready and has got 100% possitive feedback so i cant see it been a load of rubbish, but ill soon know when it comes,

also i managed to return the kind gesture teSmp did for me, i came across a new journal on here where a first time grower is trying to grow some autos, he is in same part of the world as me and he is struggling to find the daylight cfls and is using some 20watt 2700k cfls to grow with, so i have sorted him out some daylight bulbs and some bigger 2700k cfls as i have plenty and chucking a mylar blanket in for him as well, im going to get these posted out tomorrow or the day after, and it feels good to be helping someone else out, i new id get my chance to return the favour and it looks like i got my chance, ive asked him to post a comment on here so yous can have a look at his journal and give him some help if he needs it, he is growing autos which i know very little about.

As per the bone meal...if it ain't broke, why fix it. Be real careful with the nitrogen levels or you'll enjoy watching a beautifully healthy plant for an extended period of time with an annoying delayed harvest. But then again, tobacco's significantly less expensive to smoke anyways.

not where i live, 10 cigs cost £4. so i think thats $8 for 10, its getting cheaper to buy weed than it is cigs,
@ alaskan, soz mate, but since using bpn my plants have suddenly become very interesting,
im not getting much smell at all yet, when i was using cfls it stunk now im using hps i have very little smell at all, and the plant has got loads of little buds now and crystals are forming all over the place, but i did take out a hermie big bud#2 and that did smell so im wondering if all the time it was only that 1 plant stinking the place out, anyways here is some pics take today

so by the looks of it the cfls i used for veg have made the plants bush out more than they have got high, im hoping this means im going to get loads of goodness from them, but since the 1st time i used bpn products i noticed my plants looked a whole lot better, i was using baby bio but it must of been missing something these plants needs as growth was slow, i recon if i used bpn from day one id either have flowered earlier or have bigger plants, not sure why baby bio dont work so well, it does say it can be used with tomatoes and strawberrys so it is suited to growing fruit and veg but clearly its not up to the job of growing some weeds,
cant thank tesmp enough, but ive returned the favour and gave a new grower on here some of my cfls and some light fittings and threw in a couple of seeds i had plenty of, he is just starting to grow and is only using some low wattage 2700k cfls to try and grow some autos, so i offered him some of the lights i no longer need and am posting them out tomorrow so he should be able to achieve a better grow now, i told him to introduce himself in my journal so you can check out his and offer him some advice, ill try and get a link to his journal and post it here, i think he needs some advice as he is very new like i was but he is growing auto and i know nothing about them

did u notice how i have my hand behind my nugs when i take close ups? its help its focus on the smaller things and not everything in the background. i use an iPhone 4s for my photos. so give that a shot. it took me some time to be able to get close ups. Ive found that right before the suns fully down with my flash on i get good pics. or when the sun (or light source/flash) is not directly on what you are focusing on. give a try lemme know how it worked out

thanks for the info ill give it a try, i did find out that taking the plants somewhere darker got me better pictures, but the digital camera i am using is old and not up to much it sort of auto focus when you half press the button down and it does have a small zoom button but it goes blurry when you zoom in to much, but putting my hand behind sounds like a good idea, could solve my problem as it gives it something to focus on and might solve the zoom problem im having, thanks for the info ill give it a try next time round.

i got some good news and some not so good news
the good news, my g13 poisen dwarf is female
the bad news is its in flower and its only 2 inches tall,
its 7 weeks old, really is a dwarf, its been in flower a few weeks by the looks of it, now dont get laughing but the white hairs on the bottom node are the same height as the top of the plant, i just had a close look at it when i took my other auto out to put it under cfls when the hps goes off and i was bending it over to check how the growth was going at the nodes and i noticed this white thing, i had a closer looks and its a female pistol, the bad news is that the plant is 4 nodes high, 2inches tall and all it is is a stem with 2 leaves coming off it at each node, i can just about see the start of the new branch growth at the nodes, i mean i can see the start of the leaves at the nodes, but now its in flower i dont think their is much chance of it growing these nodes out.
the question is shall i kill it off and get it out the way, or flower it off and laugh at the results, i aint gone get nothing off it am i, not even enough for half a spliff or bong, well i must say the g13 poisen dwarf lived up to its name, maybe they should call it g13 micro minature get nothing off it poisen dwarf auto dust.
what a joke, i know its 7 weeks old but its been stunted from day 1, all my other plants are loving the compost i use and are really healthy, this was healthy but is tiny, ill take a few pictures before the lights go off and let you all laugh at how big it is, and they say size dont matter its what you do with it, well what the hell am i gona do with it

if my hermie had pollen id cross it and make sum auto femenised seeds but no pollen yet and this auto is in flower, im just uploading pics now so will be in my next post, but give me your best estimate on total dry weight, im thinking ill get about a pea sized when its all dry and squashed together, or possibly smaller, so unless it turns into a monster over the next couple of weeks i think im stuck with a bit of dust

here is the monster auto in flower, what do you think ill get, an oz at least im hoping for, what chance have i got of getting that, did i hear somebody say more, hmmmm possibly but doubt it, i mean am i actually going to see these buds or will i need a decent microscope to sample the goods

Grow her out, maybe that's an auto's version of pre-flowers...I woulda thought the thing would hit 8-10 inches tall...did the "lofty" advertising give a height estimate?

mine is 7 weeks old, from day 1 it was very slow, in the last week its only just about grown the 2 inches, before then it was at ground level for ages, not sure why or what i did wrong, but its been fed the same and watered the same amounts as the other auto and seeds, it also had the same lights, now my other auto is as tall as that if not taller and its only just growing its first set of leaves after the seed leaves,
i cant see it getting much bigger due to its age, if it was showing sex and it was say 3 weeks old then id understand it getting bigger, but its been at least 7 weeks and its only that big so i cant see it doing much more, unless it really does grow quick the last few weeks, i cant see any buds forming but on closer inspection the new leaves sprouting at the nodes are covered in crystals so im thinking its just starting to flower, not sure how long the pistols have been their for, ive never really looked that close at it due to its height, but before the lights went out i decided to pull the leaves back and have a look in case it was male and thats when i found the pistols, so its not male, if my hermie had pollen id pollenate it and try and get some seeds as i think thats about all its good for, but even then the seeds might turn out the same and be that small, not sure what to do, ill flower it and see what happens but not expecting anything much with it now

ok, ill grow it and see what happens,
hotoperiod." that would mean it switches to flowering when u change the lights... those do look more like pre flowers. just wait. cuz I'm sure it will double in size and give u nice buds.- Thread starter

im still giving it at least 20-4 hours at the moment, would it be worth upping this to 24-0 or not, i think i can see trics forming on the very small node growth but cant be sure till my microscope gets here, the plant is 7 weeks old possibly more, its been stunted from day one, its gone longer than the flowering period it says so it should be in flower now due to its age, but im not to sure, shall i give it 24-0 constant light or keep it at 20-4, its been on 20-4 from day 1, i was going to pull it weeks ago due to slow growth, but the last 2 weeks it started growing again so didnt pull it, now it is showing its a female, i was hoping my hermie had pollen so i could get some auto seeds but no pollen coming from the hermie yet so cant go down that road, all i can do is see what happens over the next couple of weeks, but if it is in flower then i wont be getting much from it,
