First CFL Grow Using 30 Watt CFLs

The plants have a stretch at the beginning of flower. So, your 12/12 from seeds stretched while the others were still vegging is all. The ones that vegged properly first will be bigger, all things being equal, at the end of their respective lives.

On your feeding schedule, look at the accompanying hours of light to give you a better idea as to the corresponding "week" of nutrition. If BPN's doesn't have an annotation as to "extra" weeks of veg or flower, look GH's to give you an idea as to what to do...it'll be perty much the same.

Cheers,
John

bpn is listed as follows
seedling 1 to 2 weeks
veg 1 week 3
veg 2 week 4
crazy week 5
transition week 6
bloom weeks 7 and 8
monster bloom weeks 9 to 14,
so im basing it on the transition as been the 1st week of 12-12 and it says its in that stage for 1 week, so im going on that im in bloom now, but as my veg was longer does that mean the bloom stage is going to be more than 2 weeks, but it seems that the bloom stage is 2 weeks then the monster bloom is anything after that period, so im going on that im now in bloom so for the next 2 weeks ill feed at that schedule then anything after that ill be feeding on the last part of the shedule, which as it says is weeks 9 to 14 so this should cover all flowering finishing times,

with the info on the 12-12 so im better of putting my plants under veg for 1 month instead of going strait to 12-12 from seed, even though the plants wont show sex or go into flower for the first 4 weeks, so the plants under 12-12 will end up been smaller and yielding less than the plants that have been in veg for the exact same period under the same lights, will the plants under 12-12 from seed slow down in growth then and the plants under the veg schedule catch up and out grow them so after the month of each schedule the plants from the veg room will have more growth than the ones under 12-12, but the ones under 12-12 may be taller due to streching but have less branch growth,

dont try reading that after a few vapes, started to confuse myself in the end, im only asking as i started these seeds at all the same time and the ones in the 2ltr hempies seem to be growing a whole lot quicker and they are taller but growth at the nodes is more, the plants in the veg room have no growth at the nodes yet but the one in flower room has clearly got leaves growing out of the nodes, it will be interesting to compare the 2 after 1 month then compare it again after they have flowered to compare yield,

but i gota admit the plants under 12-12 are now under a 400watt hps dual spectrum bulb, the ones in veg are under about 200 watts of 6500k cfls and a couple of 2700k cfls thrown in for the extra spectrum.

also does anyone know what bulbs i can use in the hps ballast, it came with a 400watt sunmaster dual spectrum grow lamp and another bulb to keep a spare, but do i have to only use these bulbs in it or can i use another bulb that would be better for if i wanted to use it just got veg or wouldnt i gain anything, also do the ballasts have an end date, i mean do they need replacing the same as the bulbs after a certain amount of time, i got 12months warranty with it so should be ok for at least 12months and having a spare bulb covers me if one ever stops working, on the bulb box it says its got 55,000 lumins and the bulb has 24,000 life hours, so it should last 12months the bulb shouldnt it or will it be good to use after that time,

Correct, by that schedule "transition" is first week of 12/12. Week 8 basically is just a general guideline on that schedule as to when the stretch will end (give or take.) They are assuming an 8 week flowering time, I wouldn't count on being that lucky...ten is more likely and sometimes even longer.

You'll find that whether going 12/12 from seed or vegging for 4 weeks will probably end up about the same if using inadequate light. If you're trying to grow monsters, veg for a while. If you're only gonna veg 4 weeks anyway, save on the electricity and just go 12/12 from seed. Whether they say it or not, that's a 12/12 schedule they are giving in my opinion. If you keep the floros close & use 6500k's the internodes will be tight on 12/12 also. But starting about 2-3 weeks on healthy plants ya gotta start paying close attention so they don't grow into them & burn...ie; you're safe at an inch or less & then all of a sudden, oops!

If you're vegging proper...18/6, 20/4, whatever, with floros ya don't really have to worry 'bout the oops. Small, compact, not trying to grow monsters kinda deal...12/12 from SPROUT, 6500k floros ONE inch above until its a pain to keep up with. Then hit that 400 hps ya just got a foot away with the floros as auxillary lighting. That's my penny value 2 cents worth at least.

Cheers,
John

PS- if you veg longer or flower longer just extend the appropriate relevant weeks feeding

thanks, im actually using a 400watt dual spec hps for flower now, im still using cfls for veggin my autos and clones and ak47 x uk berry cheese, what im doing is when the hps light is on for the 12-12 schedule i put all my plants under that then before the light goes off i take out the ones im leaving in veg for a bit and put them under the cfls for a few more hours so im still vegging for 20-4 but 12 hours of it is under the dual spec hps, im hoping this will speed up the veg process as it took to long last time to end up with plants just 7 inches tall, i was roughly at 8 weeks and 7 or 8 inches tall, i was using a load of 20 and 30 watt cfls i had roughly 300 watts in the 6500 k cfls on the plants, its kept them bushy i must admit and nodes are so tight together so im hoping ill get some decent buds,

im just uploading todays pics now so ill try and put them on and see if i can get it to work, you can then see how even my cannopy is, it looks as if they have been under a scrog, the canopy is so even across the whole of the plant, i must have more than 20 top bud sites, all the nodes and branches are at the same level, im hoping that they will stretch a bit now during 12-12 and give me a few decent big buds and the rest smaller, but i must admit it does look like i been using a scrog, check for yourself im just uploading them now

now i got it sorted ill list the others and say what they are, that one above is one of the ak47 female cross with uk berry cheese mail. i got 10 seeds free without a purchase from a seed bank that gives packs of 10 seeds away to anyone who asks for a pack, first come first serve basis

Hey there, bud, been a minute since I popped in, but it looks as though you're really taking off! Got a lot going on I see...Did you just stick those cuttings into the soil?? I'd like to see how they turn out. Hope you are well:Namaste:

nl x bb, another cutting, this was acually a top i cut off that wasnt getting any light as it was well hidden inside the plant, i cut it off expecting it to die but it survived and has got new growth at the middle, i know these are all to small to be proper cuttings and i was amazed they lived, but the truth is i dont have any long enough branches to use as cuttings, i only have the main branches with all these nodes coming off, but the plant is that well packed in and all the shoots off the nodes are small, i have some bigger ones now that i will take around day 21 of flower to try super cropping.

this pic is my veg room at the moment, its only small and about a foot high, but im using cfls so no heat issues and all plants are small at the moment so no height issues, all the plants in the bigger pots like the auto's and ak47 go into the flower room under the 400watt dual spec hps during the 12hours its on then back under these to veg for few more hours, im hoping by doing this im giving them a boost during the veg stage, i will veg some off while i flower the others off and when my main 2 plants are finished ill move some of these in, i have got some other fem seads called headband, never heard of them, also free from herbies with my last to orders and ive got 4 of them and femenised so when i switch these to flower for next round ill get the seeds soaked and vegd for the 3rd flower schedule, but a long way off that and things can change pretty quick, ill just be over the moon if i get this flower out of the way without any problems, im taking a huge risk but due to health reasons i need to take this risk, i just wish the governments would see the truth and wake up and realise that some of us would be better off having access to these plants and the flowers that ease our pain and help with my insomnia, its a killer at times,
PICT1621.JPG

this picture is my flower room, im using a different camera but its an old digital type, better than my fone but still not as good as i want them to be, i have got a 14 or 14gig camera but i cant get the leads for it, its hd as well so im trying to source some leads for it,
anyway in this pic i have got starting from the back left, so back left is the special kush, next to it in the other big pot is the nl x bb fem, both of these are now in full flower and buds are forming, the 2 plants in the dandelion and burdock 2ltr pop bottles are ak47 x uk cherry cheese, these have been under 12-12 from seed and are about 1 week old, the other in the black pot is only in the room when the lights are on and is in veg room the rest of the time, i have 1 tall plant in 2ltr hempie and the other 2ltr hempie is a lot smaller and the one in the black pot is smaller still but all are the same age, possibly the taller one is male and the shorter female, i was always pretty good and guessing when i grew over 10 years ago from seed as males tend to be a lot taller and nodes longer apart.

PICT1619.JPG

now this pic is my problem auto, its the g13 poisen dwarf, its getting on 4 weeks old or could possibly be older by a week or more as i lost track, would need to check my journal when i potted it, but as you can see the leaves are tiny, its 3 nodes high but the leaves at each node are about 2 mm above the node below, does anyone have any ideas what the problem is, should i pull it or grow it out,
PICT1618.JPG

this is a close up image of the same auto
PICT1617.JPG

and again, see how close the nodes are
PICT1616.JPG

these next 2 pics are both ak47 x uk berry cheese, the one in the round pot has been 12-12 from seed, the other in the square pot is vegging for a bit longer, all the ak seeds are the same age give or take a day depending on when they sprouted from seed but all where soaked at the same time
PICT1615.JPG

PICT1614.JPG

this next picture is the roots coming out the bottom of the 2ltr hempie
PICT1613.JPG

more of the 2ltr hempies, the one on the right may day, but its the taller of all the ak47 so im hoping its a male due to it stretching more and growing taller and faster than the others, it got to close to the light when i was adjusting it, so i lost a load of leaves but its still alive and will survive i think, but does anyone else think its male and i should replace it or should i wait and see, i have more black 2ltr pop bottles to do more hempies, but i want to get these next 2 grows out the way at least then ill possibly try a room full of 2ltr hempies depending on what i get from these
PICT1612.JPG

another of the g13 auto growing slow, it has picked up a bit but still very slow and you will see my other auto thats less than a week old and compare the difference
PICT1610.JPG

here is my other auto the auto bomb femenised, this is taller than the g13 and its only a few days old
PICT1608.JPG

this picture below is an ak47 and this one is in veg, all the ak47 are crossed with uk cherry cheese, on the pack it says ak47 female cross with uk cherry cheese male, so the seed bank must be trying a new strain as it has no name yet, they want grow report and smoke report so hoping its something very nice
PICT1607.JPG

this is my 2 sexy females in flower, the hermie as been removed and is elsewhere ill get pics of that tomorrow
the left is the special kush and the right is the nl x bb femenised both are well into flower
PICT1606.JPG

i think this is the special kush, im hoping you can see the formation of buds in the middle of it,
PICT1605.JPG

PICT1603.JPG

PICT1602.JPG

this is the nl x bb femenised, hoping you can see bud formation or at least a mass of white hairs, looking at the plants now im concerned i may have flowered them to soon, but they was getting on 8 weeks old, im hoping i have not lost much yield by going to flower at that size, maybe im worrying about nothing
PICT1599.JPG

PICT1596.JPG

their are more pics in my album if you want to have a look, let me know what you think of the plants and if their is anything i need to improve or change, im open to any ideas and suggestions. im trying to catch up on journals now im online,

no probs quix, ill tell you what i did with the sort of cuttings, they wasnt meant to be cuttings, some of them are the tops i cut off lower branches when i topped some branches, i was about to throw them in the bin and i remembered i had bought some rooting gel and had not used it, i never expected any of the tops to live, some died and some lived and believe it or not they have now got new growth in the middle, i even planted a few in a sort of big pot that has 4 round corners and a round bit in the middle but its all joined up in 1 pot, i just soaked the soil dipped the straggly bits in rooting gel and planted them, i didnt even cover them to keep humidity up, some died as expected but i was about to give up on the rest when i had a closer look and i saw new growth, then i touched the leaves and felt how they felt and the bits that was dying was all soft like wilting but the others where strong like normal leaves, these are about a week or just over old, i didnt plan on taking cuttings it was the bits i took off when i topped, but i was amazed some grew as they was only 1 node in height, i didnt expect anything just thought id try, they may not grow properly and i may end up pulling them, but if by some miracle they pull through then it means i have more cuttings to grow out, i was so amazed the actually grew, the pictures after your post is also some more cuttings taken the same way, they was never intended to be cuttings, best part is i cut them off and left them on the side for about 10min while i sorted the plants out then remembered the rooting gel and tried it and i was shocked that some lived then when i saw new growth i couldnt believe it, but yep the ones in the brown pots are growing and a couple in the multi pot type thing are growing as well

as for my health mate, im ok thanks, hope all good your end, im just tired and a bit run down, its hard working having 2 kids on my own and my family live far away so cant just go round and visit, but i plod along and do whats needed, just gota take and live with what life has thrown at me, they say things happen for a reason, but id have to question that logic after what i went through, i really dont think it happened for a reason, ill check your journal mate now im back on here,

quick update, the hermis is 100% hermie, my 2 big plants are forming more and more buds, no trics as of yet but shouldnt be long till i start finding them, im trying to sort out the height of the light, i think i would get less heat if the reflector had small holes in it to let the heat out, i dont really want to be drilling it though, i think i could get the light lower if it was a cooled hood, but its not so im lowering it by in inch a day till i find the best height from the plants, what i have noticed though is that the light seems less exactly below the bulb, i have more light coming from the sides of the bulb and down the side of the reflector, im turning my plants half a turn a day to ensure even light across the plant,

im not in USA mate, but im using 12v computer fans wired up to phone charges, the pictures i put up yesterday are of the plants now, you can see the 1 computer fan in one of the pics, im planning on adding another fan as needed, im in the middle of making a basic carbon filter, but to be fair the plants smelled more during veg, im getting very little smell as of yet from the plants in flower, the hermie stinks but these seem to have very little smell at this stage, but it could of only been the smell from the hermie plant during veg that i could smell, i was starting to get concerned with the smell, but since changing the light to 400watt dual spec hps i have had no issues with smell, i have been leaving the door open to let new air in and the warm air out, but apart from that alls good, i know its going to start stinking down the line so making a small carbon filter with activated carbon as we speak, but i am getting very little smell from the plants, but as soon as i touch the leaves it smells, and you can really tell the difference between the plants when i smell my fingers after adjusting the plants, a nice smell, cant wait till their finished.

is the 400watt dual spec enough for what i have got in their, i dont want much more as im running the risk of bumping electric cost up and im trying to draw as little attention as possible, so i was using about 300watt total of cfls so jumped upto 400watt hps and im using a few 6500k cfls in the veg cupboard on the cuttings and new plants,

alls going good, the plants are well into flower, theirs bud growth at all nodes even the lower and inner nodes so im more than pleased its going so well, not sure what to expect or how much more growth to expect, but i am getting loads of new growth and its really filling out now,

me neither mate, i was so shocked some of the clippings lived, most died but one day i opend the door and was removing the dead ones then i noticed the leaves looked different on some of them, and most felt like wilted dead leaves but a few of them felt like normal leaves, so i left them and they never wilted and all of a sudden a few of them started growing, so it all turned out good, and i would normally of thrown them away due to them been just what you said little clippings, i left most of them on the side or floor while i tended to the plants and i walked past my rooting gel and had a mad idea and thought why not, it wont cost me nothing if they die, but if they live i have gained a new plant, so to my surprise some of them lived, i will be taking cuttings at day 21 to try supper cropping but i had not planned on taking any so early, but they lived and will be vegd for a while, i can flower them at any stage due to them been the same age as the mother plants, so their ready to go when their big enough, thanks for checking in
