Feral's Journal Of Insanity & Some Growing

Its going to depend on how yellow your bulbs are too, i noticed the powerplant bulbs are a lot more yellow than the digimax :thumb: Im thinking of grabbing a 3.5kw reverse cycle split system when i setup my new area, hoping that should do, only going to cost me about $900 for the unit and i have worked with a mate that fits them for a job so know exactly what im doing to fit it up myself :) hopefully this should be my last summer i have issues with heat :thumb:

Shit, I meant $900 not 9000. $9000 would be ridiculous. :cheesygrinsmiley:

AC really helps for us Aussies and Saffers. I don't like anything over about 29 deg in the tent at it's peak. Prefer about 26 deg. That seems to be optimal.

You are going to love the effects of AC bud.

The bulbs I use are quite yellow. It is noticeable.

Under HPS to get the same effect you will probably have to get the M7's, i only use the cheap ones because the light spectrum with CMH is a lot closer to the sun, 95% likeness or something like that :thumb: only issue is running both HPS and LED im not sure if they have glasses that do both, i have not really looked into them for a while ;)
I use regular Polarized sunglasses. Just don't look into the hps lol it's still bright as hell and will hurt your eyes

I am finding lately in veg that hotter heats are helping them thrive and grow a lot quicker, just not as safe to run them temps in flower incase of hermies :) Thing is im going to install AC for the plants and still will be suffering the heat in my house  might buy a couple i think lol

I didnt even bother using glasses on my HPS, pics would turn out yellow no matter what  found it easier just to shut lights off for a few mins while i take pics, disruption through lights on is fine, just cant do it at lights out ;)

I havent done a foliar to my girls in quite some time, about a year ago i think and only in veg ;) i dont like spraying them with anything at all, even plain water in flower can start mold issues and RH is high enough around here at the best of times, also i dont want to be smoking my nutrients or pesticides :thumb: But thats just me, Its completely fine to do and will have great results but definitely think about bud washing when you are harvesting ;) thats the main reason i dont do foliars, i spend enough time harvesting and another step will add so much more time on when you are talking 10oz+ per plant ;)

Edit.. another thing i notice when using intense light with foliars is the water droplets on leaves can also have a magnifying effect leaving spots all over your leaves :thumb:

Aww I only spray in veg brother. I'm not into smoking chemicals either .. I only got a small grow 10 plants . I got time to trim and shit. All my kids gone now Yippie they grown!! So I'll sit n the chair listening to some Tom Petty and blazing down will be good times for me for real

The 24k should stay a lot shorter than the Sour D being a mostly indica strain, just worried she wont have enough sidewards space :)
I dont really monitor PH too much anymore in flower as i change the reservoirs once a week but it can fluctuate quite a lot, i find if i just keep topping the reservoir up with water each night the PH generally stays pretty solid :thumb: it all depends on how much of the nutrients they are taking in compared to water, on hotter days they will drink a lot more water than nutrients meaning the res is stronger than when you mixed it up and the PH will drift right down, adding that water back brings the PH back :thumb:
If you are getting too much PH drift then your nute mix is either too strong or too weak, a perfect mixture they will basically take in an equal amount of water and nutes ;) mine i run stronger but more constant additions of water, i dont add anything else during the week :thumb:

I've only been using a light mix of 1EC since that was around the highest I could push it using the pro mix.Im hoping with the coco I can go higher which I hope will settle the ph climb
At least you won't have to worry about height then with the 24 then but it's already a big bush now so looks like you will have a 5x5 space cramed with buds :)

Should be able to run a little higher mix in coco ;) start about half what they recommend and work your way up, following the GH nute calculator i go from half strength for the first 3 weeks up to 80% for the last week of veg and then run my flower nutes at 80% all the way through :thumb:

Hopefully the tent wont be empty for quite a while now :) got quite the schedule of plants to get through

I would expect 200 - 300% stretch on that 24K strain. I've grown plenty of DNA strains with their signature OGK making up the bulk of their hybrids, and that strain likes to stretch. Got 300% stretch on one exodus kush and about 350% stretch on the other. The 2 lemons I ran went about 250%.

I just wish i could do it all during the day so im not up all night

Should do the job nicely :) I use nanolux for my veg tent and did have one running in flower before i switched it out for the LEC's, its a good brand, i just dont like the all in one setup on their 315's, i already have issues keeping temps down and running 2 ballasts inside the tent would make it even warmer :thumb:

Thanks mate and welcome :) quite keen on the 24k, she smells awesome and cant wait to see her in full bloom, lest just hope i dont run out of room
You can detach ballest. I read and also called nanolux to confirm. Ballest can be extended to outside of tent with a extra cord

Damn so i need to look out then  should be right, c99 has about 4 weeks left till harvest and then she will have that side of the tent to herself :thumb:

Nice one, are the nanolux ones able to be dimmed? thats one feature i miss on my HPS digital ballasts ;)
