I wish I had it. Doesn't look like my afghani seeds will pop. Thus no breeding chances yet. Might have to order some reg seeds of something.

I do if I really have to but I try to keep it to a minimum, I don't touch fans around the colas or it will mess with their formation and I don't do any defol till stretch is over :thumb: can usually get away with just tucking a few leaves here and there and will be enough without slowing the plant down ;)
 
It depends on a lot of factors with the defol thing. If you have space it's more preferable to keep them. I have nearly trimmed all the main fan leaves off mine now. But you cannot even tell as the leaves on the buds themselves are filling the area. But I also did it after stretch and progressively. Only where it is totally clear to the stem. Not in packed buds. If you cannot see the base of the leaf leave it alone. Don't know if there is any correct answer but that's what I've done. Wasn't meant to be so thick tho. I could have thinned branches off in retrospect:

Yeah that's it mate, what happens is when you take a fan from a bud or branch it will then slow down till the smaller fans grow to now produce energy to the attached bud/branch, what happens after this is those sub branches as I call them will start to grow as they are now independent branches with their own fans supporting them, when this is done in the budding stage it will usually cause a lot of foxtailing which is why I don't strip any from the main cola areas :thumb: can be used very similarly to backbuilding to fatten up the buds at a later stage though ;) that's just what I have noticed, there is not much info out there on defol, nobody really knows what they are doing so I like to keep track of everything I do and how it affects the plants :)

They were. My first two back a while Germed real quick. I dropped one and dried the other out and killed it. Think my issue was putting them in rockwool. Just sucks for seeds. Peat pellets never fail me.

yep it did the same to me, made me look into all different methods :rofl: my original method was the best, drop a seed into soil and water it, like nature intended :rofl: just sux not being able to see if the seed cracks or not which is why I soak them in a shotglass now till they sink :)
 
Yeah I used to always soak them in a glass. But found straight in the jiffy pellets made for a healthier start for some reason. I swear by jiffy pellets. Just love them. It's what works for each person. There are no magical answers, always say find what works and stick to it.
