Okay so it wasn’t fatal but how would you you like your psychedelic journey to be invaded by toxic stinging caterpillars raining down on you from a tree and crawling all over you? And then the little bastards were stinging me. So there are many other caterpillars that are well behaved n don’t sting hallucinating 🎶 concert goers with their toxic appendages! Lmao CL🍀. :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley:
Listen, my first psychedelic tripping experience, I had a lot of issues with what was supposed to be a fun time:

A. I had my friend following me around the house with a dorito screaming "Flying Dorito Man, it's Flying Dorito Man!"-scared the bejesus out of me
B. Another friend said "Whatever you do, do not look in a mirror"-naturally the first thing I did was go into the bathroom to look in the mirror only to see my face as a complete mosaic and I was in there crying trying to put my face back together
C. There was a Persian carpet in the living room in which another friend said, "Snakes!"-I looked down and every thread in the carpet was a flipping slithering snake. I jumped over the carpet and fell into the coffee table

We have all had our bad trips...mine just happened to not be inundated with blood sucking caterpillars
So good......nothing beats fresh homemade sauce!
Hey Krissi, really great that you've got your Odyssey and making magic. I'm going to be in the studio this weekend shooting a few podcasts on everything you've been talking about - starting with the simple technique involved in warming the stone and how it relates to the traditional concept of vaping - and basic things like how the Hit Kit makes using Magic Stone virtually maintenance free.
:thanks:This is awesome please feel free to post the podcast links here for our friends to see when you've uploaded them!
And to jump in on the autoflower conversation, I'm in the midst of my first auto grow - Green Gelato. I wanted to stagger harvests for the first time (outdoor) and just harvested the first of three this week and it's trimmed and drying. I started three plants a month apart - May 21, June 21 and Last week of July. It's going to be interesting to see if I can finish the last one outdoor here in Vermont.
Green Gelato? Green Gelato x Cookie Auto? Yum! Never tried! Had to look it up
That’s really cool but it’s too bad you didn’t start a journal. I would have loved to follow you and your growing season. Maybe next year? CL🍀
I've actually got pics of all of it, right up to the first trimming and including the three plants side by side at their different stages of growth. I'm just flat out with MS and didn't think I could do an ongoing GJ so I thought I'd put together a condensed grow journal after everything's done.
Looking forward to seeing the condensed version! :Rasta:
I am with 🍀 and GDB, can't wait to see the culmination!! How long have you been growing now, you said this is your first auto, I assume you have been growing tons of photos prior? Fave strain that you want to share?
Highya Krissi,

Is the Bubblegum Auto too big for the tent, or is it just the camera perspective? Looks very happy!
Haha! She hit the top of the mesh last night, I ordered her a netted mesh wrap with tie and will be transitioning her into that tonight or tomorrow and leaving the buterflies to the Taj Mahal of butterfly enclosures lol. This is her and the new "enclosure" coming today

How do you use sun-dried tomatoes? In fact how do you dry them? Mr. Inquisitive wants to know. Hope your day went well? Happy Smokin'
I dehydrate them in my Ninja Foodi for around 8-9 hours at 160 degrees. I use them for all sorts of things! Sauces, salads, snacks with pita chips and cheese, and additions to any main meal! I had a good day except I found out my dog that my parents have now living with their dogs that I have talked about before, my chocolate lab, was diagnosed with a sarcoma. He has to go for surgery Sept 6th and then 5 consecutive days of radiation. He should be OK though....he's 9, will be 10 in January.
I know I’ll be checking it out when you decide to post it. CL🍀
Like I said, me too buddy!
I live in Maine, and our flipday (so to speak) is around the very end of July or very first of August. We flower for 10 weeks, so I'm guessing you'll be fine. Happy Smokin'
MS, if Bode says you will be fine, me thinks you will be fine!!!
Cool Bode, as long as it stops raining and flooding here I think I can. Speaking of which, my first harvest last week was pretty much at peak but I had to scramble because all of the relentless rain, not surprisingly, induced initial bud rot. I was on the lookout, cut away the first signs, moved her indoors with fans, heat and LED lamps and was able to save most of it.
That's what we have to watch out for. Can't help but get some. I grow Super Silver Haze mostly because it's mold resistant. It gets very little. But I have to check every morning! Sometimes I get a couple oz. of mold all total, so I can live with that! Happy Smokin'
The mold. Omg the outdoor mold scares me so, I give you guys so much credit-I am still checking the forecast every hour to see if there is a storm or rain moving in so I can bring Aurora inside...I'm a scaaaaaared!
Yes, gotta stay vigilant when they're ripening and it's really moist. And this being the first time I decided to venture into autoflower land was/is a constant learning grow - and the first experience with gelato too. Last year I had a pretty substantial Skittlez grow near harvest when everything went "monsoon" up here. I caught that mold early (first ever) and they were way too big to move so I set up fans outside and began a three day harvest a couple of days later that allowed me to save at least 95% of a really great strain.
95% is a win to me!!!
In fact every MagicStone instrument get's test fired before production, and I can say officially that every Alchemy and Oddessy have been tested with that great crop...a perfect way to confirm the ability to deliver clean fruity flavor.😊
Couldn't think of a better way to test! What a system you guys and gals have over there!

So fam, today is Days 64/65/66 for the tent, Day 14 of Flower. We already saw Miss Bubblegum who is Day 9 of Flower, Day 39 from sprout.

I went up and rigged the light a little to give me another inch to inch and a half above the girls in the tent. This didn't help Angelina too much and her super long main though. Sooo, I decided to pull her gently away from the light and into the area between the bars with a yo-yo placed over Uma. This did the trick! Phew!

Durban needed to be fed again today, she is on every 2 days now, Amnesia and G-13 are every 3 and NYC Diesel still every 4. This is the last set of feeds with Silica water. Next round will be PBlend +Silica and Flower Stacker. Already have some of the jugs on the counter to get made up.

Toppings will occur Monday, again it will consist of: Bone Meal, Bat Guano, Seabird Guano, Epsom Salt, and Earthworm Castings.

We have a Plant of the Day today in Marilyn, our NYC Diesel!

NYC Diesel is a mix of:

SOUR DIESEL X AFGHANI X HAWAIIAN
Sour Diesel's parents are Chemdawg and Northern Lights and there is said to be some possible Mexican sativa lineage somewhere in the mix as well.

It's main terpenes are:

Beta Myrcene:.315%
Beta Caryophyllene:0.251%
Alpha Pinene:0.132%

Cannabinoids are:

CannabinoidAmount
THC:25.76%
Δ9-THC:18%
CBD:0.00
CBN:0.29%
THC-A:17.97%
Δ8-THC:<0.1%
CBD-A:0.15%

Smells/Tastes:
Grapefruit, Gasoline, Diesel

Uses:
Pain Relief, Anxiety and Depression, Energetic Euphoria

We will come back and discuss more on this strain as the flowering weeks progress. Until then, we leave this journal with our daily photos of this thick bud laiden gal who is now 31 inches, she has stretched a total of 12 inches since flip.

Have a wonderful grow Friday my friends!

Where did you get that Bubblegum Krissi?

I've grown 3 (photos) from 3 different breeders and none were as pretty as yours.:)

i49seeds brother. I know they aren't sponsored and I'm going to get a slap on the wrist for this, but I have had nothing but stellar everything from this bank-photos and autos. You've seen some in my past journals and some that are growing now in:

Photos: G-13, Gorilla Glue Super Lemon Haze, Amnesia
Autos: Blueberry, Blue Cheese, AK-47 And Bubblegum

**BONUS FOOTAGE JOURNAL ENTRY**

Since we were talking about Bubblegum and i49seeds and past grows, I went looking through for some old photos of the 1st Bubblegum I harvested-we can use these to compare come trim time for Miss Aurora. You can tell by her predecessor's leaf health in the photo of her cola, that I was still learning how to grow with the big guns. Her name was Bubs and here is a little recap of how that all started:

So Bubs, my Bubblegum #1 was my second grow ever, crazy to look back and think how many grows have happened since and how much my growing ability has changed as well.

She spent half her life in veg with my original feed, the OG Fox Farm Trio before transitioning over to Prescription Blend. She had a scary and ugly start until this feed switch and after that, she took off

In addition, I didn't use soil amendments at this time nor did I start off seedlings with an LED, this Bubblegum was raised in veg not in a tent using 6-60W grow bulbs that were outfitted onto the underside of a table in which they grew underneath. I used the same wooden blocks that prop up the plants now, to prop up the legs of the table as they grew.

She later finished her time from flower on in the current 4x4 and under the first LED sun she had ever seen in this FC4800, which I received 2 months into this 2nd grow.

And here she is from Grow #2, Bubs, from an ugly duckling beginning to her beautiful swan "egg" finish

Catch you all tomorrow on here and in the journals later today!

Simply Lovely!

I checked back on my Bubblegum grow and noticed you did not attend. This is my Bubblegum tent on flip 50 (although one of those plants is a Grape Ape). No colors then or ever. Nice smoke though!

Regardless of color she was (they were) absolutely beautiful and where was I that I did not attend?! Damn me to hell!

I am really surprised though at the lack of color, I wonder why!! Smoke is nice, love that first hit taste in your mouth, takes me way back to the land of that bubblegum in the big white dip your hand in pack, what was that stuff called?

Highya Krissi,

Love the NYC Diesel! By herself, she looks very nice! Nice green color, lots of pistils, and looks very happy! On the Amnesia, have you thought about backbudding, like you did before? That worked so great! They all look so good, but Durban Poison is still in the lead, in my opinion. G13 looks great also!! Thay all do! Happy Smokin'

Highya Krissi, Carmen, Keith,

Yes, Carmen. Krissi grew one into the lights on a previous grow. Cut the very top off from several colas, and they fattened up more than I've ever seen before! Really fat colas!! Krissi will be on later to help explain, lol! Happy Smokin'

I think we can all agree on that, the Durban is a monster. Buuuut that Geneva, she is really so pretty. She will be our next Plant of the Day. I'm thinking tomorrow morning if I don't get to her tonight. May not have time before lights out, just got in there and fed Uma and Geneva-marking the last of the feeds without Humboldt's Flower Stacker.

Hope you had a great day Bode!
Is backbudding when you snip the tips of the flower off so that it builds more?
Yes!!! Ding ding ding!!
Thank you for asking that question because I to want to know what backbudding is. 🍋
I am so glad you guys are curious because as Bode said, I did this to my GGSLH last winter and my the colas we saw!

So BACK BUILDING BUDS....

1692450880756.png

1692450912594.png

1692450948743.png

I think those photos were enough to get your attention about this technique!! You can see the cola that I did NOT back build on the left-I used this for comparative purposes to see if this technique held any water. I think it holds gallons upon gallons of water....

Excerpt from my winter grow:

Also known as bud pinching, it is a technique that is used around Week 4/5 Flower. This method of growing marijuana is typically used to increase the cola size, as it doesn’t seem to change the overall production of a cannabis plant.

It is performed by pinching or cutting 1/8-1/16th of an inch off the tops of the colas. The goal is to remove excess growth to force the plant to focus on swelling the buds that are left behind, rather than making the ones that already exist longer.

This helps with plants that are growing too tall for your space and is an alternate to Super cropping your buds to make them fit.

For this method to be successful, it must be done slowly over a period of a few weeks one bud at a time, so that the marijuana plant doesn’t experience too much stress or shock from the damage.

It is said to start small, like a haircut, you can always cut more off but once it's gone, it's gone.

I did 1/16 of an inch the first day and then I went back 4 days later and snipped another 1/16 of an inch, bring me to 1/8 of an inch total removed.

The benefit: Larger and more swelled bud colas that can more easily fit into your grow area

The risk: Too much pruning will stunt a cannabis plant’s growth

It's a really easy process, just make sure you have clean sheers to use.

If anyone has any other questions about this technique feel free to ask! I snipped a total of 4 times throughout the 5 weeks of back building we did. I probably could have done 5 but I didn't want to stress her out too much. Needless to say, this GGSLH's colas were beasts come trim time.

Just to close out this entry, a few pics of Aurora, our Bubblegum Auto, in her new "tented" area last night. I'll be spending more time making this prettier this weekend but for now, it works...I may even only use it for her at night and keep her out on the patio during the day without cover....thoughts aloud

Have a great grow day friends! I'll be back later tonight or tomorrow with a regular update but I'll be surfing the forum throughout the day and catching up on PMs!

Hi Krissi , do you have any pictures of the collars just before harvest when they were finished flowering.
They look good :thumb::passitleft:

Highya Krissi,

Those were some most awesome colas!! Think I'll try that this year. Do you think the weight increased on the colas trimmed vs. the one cola not trimmed? Bubble Gum Auto looks fine in her new enclosure. Hope you have a great weekend. Happy Smokin'

150%. Yes. i loves trimming these babies!
Bubble Gum Auto looks fine in her new enclosure. Hope you have a great weekend. Happy Smokin'
She is! I already took her out though, lol. Not enough sun over there and she looks like a caged animal...not like a princess in a tower when she was in the butterfly tent. It made me sad to look at her!

Honestly brother Clover, it was so hard to think of how to trim them. I was just cutting them the colas up in sections and worked from there but the whole time I was like damn, this was a good idea!
Very nice nugs. :thumb: 🍋
Thanks so much Keith!
Absolutely amazing. I've never seen anything like it Krissi! Truly stunning.
Thanks a bundle Lady Carmen!! I had never seen anything like it, I didn't have expectations anywhere near the end result. I do have to consider though, other methods like super cropping with the two taller gals because I don't think just back-building will be enough to keep them where I want them from the @Mars Hydro FC4800....we shall see what I can maneuver, possibly with TK's help, to make this a more comfortable environment for them as they continue to grow. My 1st Amnesia was super cropped as well as she also got large, but these 2 sativas are my tallest girls ever. 61.25 and 62.5 inches, Uma and Angelina, respectively.
