You should have been tying those tops down to the screen to fill it up and get the nodes on the branches growing up for lots more cola sites.
She's looking great tho.

Thanks for looking and commenting on that. About a week ago I was tying them down but the stocks are almost too thick and fragile.
One top snapped without much force and I was not so happy . So for the last week it has been strictly leaf scrogging and tying. Slight slight top scrogging.
Do you think I should continue scrogging the tops until the end? Any tricks just train it over time?
I have about 12-15 cola's still getting light and I seemed please but more and more do fall behind. I also debated a second net and doing a second scrog on top has anyone tried that?

If a stem is a bit fragile I'll just roll it between my thumb and fingers to soften it up and if it splits open a bit it doesn't seem to hurt the growth of the top. In fact I've noticed that colas seem a lot bigger on damaged branches.
You need to tie the very tip down and not let it stand up a couple inches before you tie it down.
Do you mean a 2nd net above the first? The lower net won't get much light if any.so I can't see that working very well.

Right on!
That screen is starting to fill up now. When the nodes on the branches start growing up there will be lots more bud sites but she's already flowering so it will be buds popping up.
Don't remove fan leaves. They are your plant's solar panels and feed the buds better than just the smaller leaves in the buds. Doesn't slow down the buds if they are shaded either as the fans are feeding them.
Any stretch should be near over so there's probably not much use in tying down any more. Best to fill the screen in veg before flipping and then there's triple or more bud sites and with DWC they can get fed faster and better than in soil tho I have seen great ScroGs done in soil too. The biggest advantage with DWC is the faster growth in veg that helps to fill the screen faster. To bad it didn't cut down on flowering time too.
You should remove most of the growth under the screen to get as much energy directed to bud growth on the top. Just get popcorn buds under the screen. I sometimes leave some on for making a few seeds or have spots growing in case I want to re-veg.

Thanks again for the great advice. When you say clear out some of the growth under the canopy , you mean the fan leaves and the smaller buds (unless saving a few to reveg etc)?
Probably won't hurt to leave some of it until the fans go yellow as the plant sucks the life out of them and a few small branches but if there is too much then they are stealing energy from the rest of the plant. The lower stuff can't get light to make it's own food so it can steal from the upper part that does make food for the plant. It won't make it hermie removing leaves and lower branches unless it has some hermie genes then extra stress might make it happen sooner.
Leaves make food that circulates around the plant and is used where needed most. The fans on each side of a bud just add their stuff to the pool for the whole plant.

Thank you OldMedUser you have been super helpful. I am glad to have you along for the ride. Shame I can't share some of this with you for helping
It would be great Far East if we could just pop buds in the mail to send samples to each other for taste testing, swapping strains or fire some off to a friend in need without worrying about getting busted. I KNOW I grow decent pot and the few that have tried it really like it too. They are even less sophisticated than I am about pot so what is their opinion really worth? On Tuesday I was at my buddy's and he twisted up doob of some street weed he recently bought. Gag me with a spoon! Tasted nasty on the pull but the aftertaste was even worse. I took 2 medium sized pulls which is what I'll dose with when evaluating a buzz and the flavour of a strain. Got a feeling of lethargy more than a buzz and wished I had some mouthwash. He said he liked it. I'm sure it had been sprayed with something nasty and the chem taste was very strong. Not from nutes tho that may have been part of it but likely some bug spray or another.
He likes a couch-lock type high where I much prefer a sativa dominant type buzz to help with chronic depression tho a toke too much of a strong sativa can give me an anxiety attack and heart palpitations which is rather unpleasant but passes in 10 minutes or so. I grew Cali Mist for a long time that did that then crossed it with Northern Lights #5. The right pheno has the mood lifting buzz I love without the other side effects and another pheno has more of a sedative effect that is great for my insomnia and arthritis pain especially when used in edibles. I call it Northern Myst and will be focusing on breeding stable versions of both phenos first then auto and feminized versions too. No more messing around with getting the latest and greatest wonder weed coming out of a breeders imagination. I would like to grow out a few high CBD strains and see how they work for what ails me. Since my little stroke 2 and a half years ago getting high just seems to increase the brain fog that plagues me and isn't all that much fun anymore.
I'm always happy to help where I can Far East. I was a single dad for 10 years and it brought out that nurturing side of me I guess so it feels good to be able to help solve a problem with their plants or even get their first grow off the ground and to a decent harvest. I'm always learning new things too so it's more sharing than it is just giving.
