Fanleaf's Huge 42 COB Array Build Plus Other Builds

Hell ya thanks JimmyJames, this light has been a decent little light.
I'm confused now though.
The drivers say they're 1.2A but the site says the whole fixture runs at 600mA.
Can four 1.2A drivers be wired in series or parallel to make 600mA?
Or is the manufacturer description wrong?
Is be more inclined to believe the label on the drivers and not what the site description claims.

I don't think it's possible to run 4 x 1.2a driver's at 600mA. (Without resistors) Lol. Your best bet is to take it to a local electronics guy and get it measured. If you're getting such varied information from the manufacturer I would have it tested. There's a huge difference between 600mA and 4.6A. So you have 3 options. 1) have the light tested or learn to test it yourself. YouTube has great vids on this. 2) Buy the two Vero chips and roll the dice. 3) start from scratch with your own build.
Until you know what this light puts out I would be careful. You don't want a money pit on your hands.

Fanleaf's Huge 42 Cree CXB3590 COB Array Build Plus Other Builds

@jimmyjames905

I've been looking into COB because HID and all these fans and ducting are a pain in the ass, plus the waste of electric..

I just need you to answer me something buddy please?

I have a 4x4 text with some cuttings doe soon..

I have MH/HPS 600w but they tried my seedlings absolutely devastated.

I know I need 1 per door squared so approx 16..

Was thinking 4x4 rails with 4 cobs on

5xCLU048-1212C4-353H6K2
CRI 90 @117.5W for £42 delivered (I'd get 20 4 as spare ext.

I know I'm gonna need L-shape aluminium (I'll sort that)

What I need help with is; (with your experience)

Which holders
Do I need reflectors?
And which Meanwell drivers so I can dim them and run them efficiently or and them if I want to.

1 driver per 4x117w but ran at 50% or less or more.

And I'm gonna need 4 of these..

Which driver please mate cos I'm just finishing days and I'm shattered and I'll watch all Growmau5 when I'm on nights tomorrow..

Just want to know the budget

Individual heatsink? Cheap active amazon heatsink?

Any tips and help be appreciated..

I'm doing coco now under HID & I SERIOUSLY want a 16 cob light to grow a mental yield.. and save a fortune ..

Hope you get back x

Sorry dude. I'm trippin. Just woke up saw CLU brain read Cree.
You can run 4 CLU on a HLG 185h-c1400b. Or like seymore says you can use the 1050 and run cooler with more COBs . The Timber builds are built on the 1400mA platform. The HLG-185h-c1400b will drive 4 CLU at 50w each
HLG-240h-c1400 will drive 5 at 50w each. This is a perfect match (either driver) as it maxes the load and allows the driver to run at peak in CC mode.

But like Seymore says. You're better off with the Vero 29 D series. More output. Cheaper price. You can use gen 7 chips or SE chips from Vero.

Thought I would share pictures of my current build. Only have the control box built right now and used fanleaf's design. Should have the panels built in a week or so.
