Exotic Genetix Trap Star Grow Journal By TwoX

I'll end up topping them in the next few days. They got there new pots 2 days ago and I kinda like letting them get comfortable before I top. I also like a few nodes down low to cut clones from so I don't disturb the premium bud sites.

Nice... that's a great approach... I sometimes forget to top at this stage.... this last run for me I topped one at this stage and let another one go natural both same phenos and the plant I topped at the 3rd or 4th node is going to be 2x dry weight and finish like a week longer than her sister. Slight trade off but good with it.

Your plants look really healthy and have that look like they are about to take off ....

Im a little late to the journal but I made it here before flowering! The trap star sounds interesting especially with that father.
Welcome Yeti. I'm having some high hopes for these ladies and the more I learn about how LA don't play when it comes to OG kush, the higher my expectations become. She should be a real stinker. :thumb:

Here a little update before I top these ladies. They all seem to be growing tall and they took off once they got in the 2 gallon pots. They all seem healthy and eager to grow.

Day 6 of flowering update for you TWOX .....and your followers. lol

I will try and keep the update simple since this is your journal and all. I feel bad to be a hijacker, but figured you would enjoy seeing them as I am enjoying your progress myself.

Decided to go with out SCROGing this first time around being its a new strain for me. Want to see how she did with the LST and TOPing first. Just finished removing some fan leaves before I took these pics to allow some more light to penetrate the canopy.

Thanx for the update Floyd.:thumb: Your ladies look great.. I love how LED lights promote that bushy Side growth .

Please, do not feel bad about posting here, I searched the web for hours last night looking for others growing these ladies and I found very little and the one I found with a harvest wasn't the greatest grower in the whole wide world so I won't be dropping his name. I know we can do better.:thumb:

I wanted this journal to be all about the TrapStars so your officially in the crew now and I'm sure others will be interested in your progress. Feel free to update any time you would like because we are all itching to see what the ladies got. We have a pretty chill community here so there's almost never any hard feelings and I am open arms to new members and growers, especially if there growing some TrapStars:Namaste:

Thanx Again for the update..

Just got home and #7 is getting the chop. :(
Wish I had the time to care for a male. Would love to collect some pollen and a few more beans for the bag. Oh well. 3 out of 11 is better than none.

bummer m/f ratio.. some thing its the exotics breeding what do u say?

I think it's dumb luck... I also believe that if a breeders could force there plants to produce more female seeds they would but I don't believe that's possible. I guess they could attempt to sex there seeds like a few growers I know but if my day to day job was sexing seeds for 8 hours I would probably kill myself..

Now you jinxed me and I'll probably have 10 females.... lol.

Your plants look really good. Now question for you. When you use square containers do they still create a root ball. I'm using square containers but the roots are growing down only but the plants are very healthy. Sorry if it's a dumb question, but my brain is curious. Thanks gro-bro! Lol

What's up G2H, there's no such thing as a dumb question especially if its a attempt to gain knowledge.
From what I've noticed using these square pots is that the root ball starts building at the bottom first and then makes its way up along the sides. I've had times where I transplant to soon and the top half of the soil is crumbling but the bottom is well rooted and bound together. Waiting a little longer to transplant really tightens up the root ball ( maybe I should call it a root cube? Lol) I've noticed this more with seeds than clones. The clones fill these little pots quick. I would just give your young ones a little time and I'm sure there roots while fill there pot. If they look happy they are probably doing just fine. That's my motto.:thumb:

Thanks for the welcome man! Ya LA has been land of the OG for quite a while. I have never grown out an OG Kush but have seen some really nice examples grown out here and in person. The cube looks like the real star IMO but either way it should be good:thumb:

What's up everybody:high-five:

Little TrapStar update. Not much to report, there all growing at a nice pace and I was hoping they would be ready in 2 weeks but if not I'll let them go 3. The tops are starting to take off where I topped and starting to show sex already. Kinda early but well get to that.

20170523_170058.jpg

Everything seems healthy and I gave them a very light feed to see how they like it. I don't think they've filled there pots with roots yet so I'll wait for their final transplant.

Here's TS6, she snapped out of it and is growing a a nice pace and liking her one gallon pot.. She's kinda cute

Here's the backup team. TS 7 through 10. They will keep vegging and replacing plants as they are removed from flower.

2 of my TrapStars started showing sex after they were topped. The other 3 look fine but these two seem odd to me. Kind of early to show sex.. I think ones a male.

That look bothers me a little. Keep a close eye on it. A true hermaphrodite is one that produces both male and female flowers without having to be stressed. They tend to flower both sexes simultaneously very fast and if stressed, even slightly, can do it in veg. It's more common with land race sativas but some hybrids show it from time to time. Hermaphroditism is a normal stress response, but a true herm is broken genetically. Last time I saw it was probably 15-20 years ago with some stuff called pine tar kush. Never touched anything piney since lol.

Agh. Name that one Culture Club and separate it. I don't trust it and if I'm right they move really fast. If it's just a touchy male you won't want to breed from it anyways, but be sure. It's also a good chance to see something that just isn't all that common any more.
