What a great collection of firing neurons up there sy! You obviously have taken your interest in cannabis genetics and turned it into a serious research project.
It's really pretty but I don't understand it. Or need to really!
Pennywise is a frickin' encyclopedia of exactly this thing. He has so much genetic history stored in his head that it's amazing to read. Ping him when you run into questions like that.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Sy. I’ve been on a similar journey, and after playing around with different cultivars over the years, have decided to return to the great NorCal Skunk #1 (not the later skunky Amsterdam version, but the original sweet one). After all, it was bred to excel here.
Interesting post mate. Reminded me of a convo I had with the local hydro shop guy recently. He advised me to stick with the older strains if I wanted consistently good results. His words 'stay away from the ones with silly names to attract kids, the ones that look, smell & will get you about as high as a packet of sweets' Made me chuckle.

It looks like it’s still possible to get the true Skunk #1 from One of our sponsors The Vault
Feminized seeds are also available, but the description of a strong skunky smell makes me wary..
Smoked up all my headstash from this harvest. It was toooo good haha
On the topic of genetics, the best kushes in my opinion, afghani reigns supreme. &Hashplant.
Very curious where the best haze originates.
For many years - here and in Colorado. It’s definitely worth trying if you can. Now days, I get my Skunk seeds locally - and she isn’t a sponsor haha.Oooo! You've grown this one out, Felipe? Very interesting.
Haha yup I'm gonna be dealing with some very loud plants very soon! The Glue I have is already a stinker in veg.

Curious about this b/c I’ve been wondering about mine...2. Light intensity and distance
TLDR; my lux meter was doing weird stuff and I couldn't leverage the lux readings from my last grow. It's working properly again and I could finally be confident about how much light the plant's getting.
I do it every time! I nearly always up-pot the day I flip.know it's a bit funny to up-pot just before flip, but it's definitely better than leaving it as it was.
I’ll add a second ######^(@%@! that!weather this spring has been an absolute #### ####### ######... ############# ####### ####. ####. ######.
So my strategy is now to find the stories, and then, with that information, try to find a source as close to the original breeder/distributor as possible.
Katsu made a nice newsletter post about this recently, about variation and discovery. Stability is sometimes really important. But when it’s not - it’s not, really.like to know whether a breeder has selected carefully over multiple generations, or, on the other end of things, if they are putting out first generation hybrids without any testing or selection. (The latter case isn't inherently bad, btw, it's contextual like everything else!)

scale of lifetime
please don't pollute the waters for the rest of us by making seeds and distributing them.
To me what you’re touching on there is the integrity in our relationship with the plant.regardless of my opinion about that sentiment, which I generally support, it gave me a sense of connectedness and accountability to a greater whole that is so rare in this day and age.
Spend some time reading the Real Seed Co. blogs. That really get you ruminatingSo.. do I want toremain within the Chem-Kush-Diesel empire, orshoot out towards the other edges?
Hi Sy - loving the look of all the plants and the spaces and the discoveries and the trouble shooting and the happy daytime tokes! Life of a grower is good even if things are rough, right!

On those Skunk and Haze things that interest you, I have a large pack of something called The Cure, by Mr Nice Seeds (also the source of Nevilles Haze). They are regs and I have about 20 of them. It’s a long term project for me to do something with them one day - there is reputedly some excellent phenos in there. It’s Skunk and Haze lines.
Hope you’re doing well today

I'd say let it go untrained.
I say train her.
