Escape Velocities: Syenite's Stealth Miniatures

New year update!

Here's where the girls are.

Wish, HSO Blue Dream auto, day 68

This little runt is just about ready to come down. Her drinking's slowed and the ambers are popping. I could wait another week or two I'm sure but I also want to stagger the chop with Grub's!

Out of the three plants, she's the last in and (will be) the first out!

Very frosty and floofy flowers. Elongated trichomes. Won't be a massive addition to the stash but I'll be very glad for the variety.

Grub, Pre '98 Bubba Kush, day 50 of 12-12

This dark beauty!! Lovely colours on the flowers.

Very floral smelling with some dank in the background, as well as a bit of an astringent needling to the nostrils, in the best way.

This one's been a real joy.

Loom, HSC Bigfoot Glue (GG#4 x Humboldt Headband), day 10 of 12-12

Now this one is spilling out of the cabinet a bit. I wonder if I've overcommitted?

Will need a big, big defoliation session at the end of stretch.

The variety, yes !! the variety!!! Love It! You’re a great photographer along with your growing prowess!

Miniature harvest for a miniature plant!

My little Blue Dream auto, Wish, went down yesterday morning, with minimal fuss, after being above ground for 71 days.

Everything was prepped the night before, and I enjoyed cranking some tunes during my very brief trim jail stint.

I did not trim the buds too closely, partly out of laziness and partly because I like being reminded of what the plant/flowers looked like when it was alive.

I had some scissor hash and it was lovely! Definitely more of a head buzz than body. We'll see how it cures.

This would've been a huge yielder if I'd gotten more out of the short vegging period. Lesson learnt!

All washed, packed up and drying in the fridge now. I probably won't bother checking the RH until a week in.

The timing of the harvest was great for me. A nice way to commemorate the end of the holiday period.

Speaking of which, it's been a fairly heavy break of resting and deep reflection. I haven't been very happy, and my job has been the primary cause. After the harvest, I sent my informal notice to my CEO. I feel much better for it. I'm very privileged that I'm in an industry that has suffered little, if not gained much, during this pandemic, and so am minimally concerned about having to find a new gig.

The other night, as my GF and I were walking up to the front door after a rare night out, we realised we could smell my Bubba on the path! On the one hand, I was stoked! On the other, I was terrified. So I sorted out a new carbon filter with more pellets, and it seems to be doing the job well enough now. Still, I'm glad to have a stinker on my hands!!

The plants continue to be a blessing. I have learnt a lot, not just about growing, but also about nurturing, and also about living.

:green_heart: :high-five:

Looking really nice Sy, and getting so close. :yummy:

Thank you Stunger!

Looking good mate. Love that colour on Grub. :yummy:

Yeah, I'm very surprised considering the weather is actually pretty hot now. I read somewhere recently that some plants will turn purple to reduce the amount of light that gets through?

Very kind words, Inky!! I'm still a newbie but I'm getting more confident!

Floofy :cheesygrinsmiley:
Good trich shot o_O
Verrry pretty flowers :battingeyelashes:
Nice :yummy:

Yaaaaasss!!!

:bravo:  Loving it!

Thank you Amster! :high-five:

It doesn't seem all that long ago that Grub was an overwatered sad little thing, but look at it now! Turned into quite the looker after all. :)

And the Blue Dream looks like it's going to be fun to trim. ;)

I think you'll be okay. Worst case is you have to move the security camera!

IKR!!! I've been thinking about the overwatering again as I will have new seedlings soon enough. I think I have a better plan this time.

As for the Blue Dream, I guess this is where people talk about leaf-to-calyx(bract) ratio? Definitely much more troublesome than Desert was and Grub will be! Still. That was no more than 15-20 minutes of my life! Lol.

Grubs colours look lovely bruv
Congratulations my brother.... blue dream turned out sweeeet as man and dank smells on the loose aye hehehehe. Good luck on your new ventures

Thank you thank you BC! Let's touch base again soon. Wish I'd been able to do more in the holidays but seems like I needed a lot of it to myself.

Congratulations on the harvest sy! Of course, there was this:

and so I fell out of my chair again. :(

What does that mean? You may be leaving and you may not? Or you may be at some point but you don't know when?

Yikes! More carbon, stat!

Hahahhaha!! If things had gone to plan it would truly have horrified you!

Cheers dear Shed! :Namaste:

Yeah, "informal notice" - I guess it's me signalling my intent to my boss, and having an opportunity to talk to him about it before I formalise my final date and let the rest of the team now.

As for the carbon, I'm very lucky to live with liberal neighbours who I know are tolerant, but still, any risk that can be mitigated, ought to be!

Hey Sy, glad you had a good break and feel moved forward in heart if not yet in body.

Your latest harvest will be nice to enjoy when dried, let us know how you find the Blue Dream, it's yet another legendary strain, love to hear what you think of it.

As for the carbon, I'm very lucky to live with liberal neighbours who I know are tolerant, but still, any risk that can be mitigated, ought to be!
I started my girls in veg later this year than last, to avoid too much dank smell drifting from the balcony to the neighbours, but I can already smell them throughout the house when the breeze is blowing in, and the photos haven't started flowering yet. Good that you can pad out the filter to reduce your contribution to the scents carried on the neighbourhood night air. It is somewhat unsettling to recognise the smell outside the house. Like you, I'd prefer no escaping smell but when it happens I too are hoping for tolerant neighbours or failing that I'm ok with them suffering from anosmia if it helps my gardening peace of mind.

A couple of months ago I went fishing with a buddy who had turned up having borrowed his girlfriend's car, I gave him a ziplock bag of Gorilla Glue, I warned him the bud has a very high smell of diesel, and consequently his girlfriend complained bitterly to him of how strong the smell was in her car for the next 2 days!

And then there were two

It's been a big week here! I've formalised my resignation and my final day at the job. It's a massive relief. Have been working with a toxic asshole for way too long!

I'm still recovering a bit from all the tough conversations, but the hard part is out of the way now. I just hope to finish my time with some grace. Thank you all for the well wishes. :Namaste:

I look forward to reclaiming all that mental energy that's disappeared into the vortex of that shitty job.

Now, enough about that. On to the fun stuff!

If you recall, Wish was taken down last week, and the flowers are happily drying in the fridge. We now have two flowering girls left.

Loom, HSC Bigfoot Glue, day 19 of 12-12

I have to say that this is my best trained plant so far. Great symmetry and structure.

I regret flipping this one so early though. You can't tell from these pics, but there is enough room for the plant to be almost twice as tall as it is! I was perhaps a bit too conservative when deciding when to flip. Oh well. It should still yield decently, but it could've been a monster! A lesson for next time. At least I won't have to stress about it getting too tall.

I will be rejigging the lights a bit after stretch. You can see that the centre and frontmost leaves are a bit lighter, and this is largely due to the light placement.

Grub, Pre '98 Bubba Kush, day 58 of 12-12

As much as I love Loom's shape and training, I just can't take my eyes off Grub.

I am anticipating her to run for 10 or 11 or even 12 weeks, and the trich shots seem to back that up.

On the smell front, I have been able to contain it enough that there is no leakage out the front door/path, which is the most important thing. However, the smell still floats about the house a bit! I've ordered my first proper can filter and a bit of ducting.

:thumb::ganjamon::yummy::green_heart:

Grub is a beauty with all those cloudy trichomes and frosty flowers, but there's something calming and wonderful about the shape of Loom, especially when you see how flat it is from above. Well done sy!

Congrats on your resignation! :goodluck: in the next place you find employment. This made me laugh though:

Don't worry, this is your safe space. :high-five:

It'll be interesting to see Loom/HSC Bigfoot Glue develop. I think the strain notes suggested she was pretty dank in smell when flowering starts. So many strains like that which we love of course, but for stealth purposes that smell is a bit of a stress maker.
I just can't take my eyes off Grub.
She's looking very nice. And likewise with those genetics I am looking forward to your smoke report on her when she's ready!

Good stuff on getting your de-employment sorted out and being able to leave a bunch of unwanted life stress at their office. All the best for a much improved number next time. :ganjamon:
