Day 13
All of my girls have enjoyed reasonable growth, aside from the one that did not sprout of course.
Now i have three seedlings in Cheryl's pot; I'm going to let that run since there's loads of room in the pot.
As you can see, all the girls are healthy and our Dommes are starting to pull ahead of the subbies in spite of my rather strict rotation scheme.
Tonight i found a flying gnat in my grow room; panicking I sprayed Neem Oil solition onto the coir and then put diatomaceous earth on top, i then added a layer of perlite, another spritz of neem oil solution followed by another layer of diatomaceous earth.
If the motherfucker laid any eggs am gonna make it as hard as possible for it's babies to escape the pot. bastard.
Also, in case anyone missed it, i have an entry in the Solo Grow Challenge 2014 which lives in with the rest of the girls.
Her name is Samantha and she's a Lemon Kush.
Obviously this update and it's photographs are proof that i germinated Samantha at the correct time and didn't just slime one of the seedlings out of Cheryl's pot and pass it off as my competition entry.
Ok, so here's the porn!
Temperatures are now down to circa 32c/89.6f due to some Autumnal breezes coming down my way. Keep it coming i say; i want to be struggling to heat the room!

Those gnats are bastards. They wander into my house from outside every so often.

doesn't appear to be any signs of heat stress though they're too young to tell me yet. i figure with the colder weather coming and the supplemental co2 (i also have another co2 bag on the way) i reckon I'll narrowly avoid any major heat related issues, which is just dandy

Christine and Kimberly look super fine, but that just might be photography. Loretta is the one to watch, though. The Bitch? She's looking nice and fine. Josie, again may just be camera stuff, but she's looking good.

Thank you they're all starting to push forward, the exciting part is beginning now. i must make sure they don't get as tall as last time cos i don't want to end up like last time - plants trying to push a hole in the ceiling lol The Blue Dream plants are already starting to smell very strongly of weed (if i shove my nose in or touch them and smell my fingers), so it seems this stuff is going tk be an outstanding strain, just a shame I'll only get to smoke one of the plants

Where there is life, there is a learning experience. Experiments never fail, doncha know. You already know from past experience what NOT to do--don't let them get too tall. Piece of cake for you now, Equablueman. 'Course, who the hell knows what the next thing you should NOT do until you do it!
Reminding you about the 1part Peroxide to 4part water/nute water ratio to destroy fungus larvae. The flypaper was satisfying because I could count the dead bodies. But, dude, for real, lower temps are gonna help tons. And, if I remember correctly, you spent some of your cash on diatomaceous earth 'cause nothing but the best for your grow!

Skimmed through the first journal, looked at the stages, read a little, you really evolved as a grower that first run. That's awesome man, I've been saying "you learn as you grow" for many years now, and you proved that. +reps!

So, I'm currently trying to work out when i should start nutes.
My previous grow started on April 30th and i started nutes on May 20th, a total of 21 days from planting.
This grow was planted on September 18th so based on the previous grow I shall start nutes on day 21, which is October 9th.
I wonder if this should be modified in any way based on the changes from the previous grow? the lighting is different as well as the room; but the strain is (mostly) the same as is the grow medium.

Start using nutes when they start to need it. Basically when the medium has nothing left in it.

The medium is coco coir; it begins with nothing. The growth current level of growth is down to whatever the seed had in it's membrane and whatever came from the water. so pretty much nothing bar a bit of calcium and lime.

Missed that part! sorry bout that. Start nuting them now. Very low doses, I'm talking a few drops of your base nutes in a gallon of water. Start them slow, and build them up as you know already Sprouts in coco are going to need nutrients almost right away. My seedlings are always hit with my A and B and root accelerator right out of the seed shell

Last time i was able to tell when they needed nutes; they'd become progressively lighter in colour and growth would halt. I've noticed the lightening and the halt, so maybe i do need to start now. Not sure why it's earlier now as it's still the same strain, same growing medium.. guess it must be the lights.
Gonna do what i did last time, 1ml of A and B per 2lt of water. Wondering if i should start cal-mag as well or leave that until there's actually a calcium or magnesium deficiency to attend to?

alright. i like to avoid chemicals when i can, which is why my idea of a root booster is Mycelium and i don't use bloom enhancers and such, though i am hoping to try molasses, which i believe is just sugar, and i only want to use that for flusing the nutes out at the end.

You want to use molasses, anybody correct me if I'm wrong, starting around week 5. It makes for incredibly tight rock hard buds. And you know where I stand on enhancing the flowers
but there are a lot of great organic products out there for bloom enhancement. But this round your going for seeds right?
