DWC Bubbler Grow Tent First Attempt

day 13!
and yes, o so lucky

changed the res.. yea 3rd time in 13 days (lol...)

moved to the big tub, cuz i didnt think i was getting enough aeration in the last tub, too small and the tubing i was using wouldnt allow the air stones/discs to sit on the bottom of the tub, so theyd float even making aeration worse..

im pretty sure it was just an aeration issue before now that ive hooked it the F up.. i think im gettin 1000x more o2 in the system now =D

the long air tube stone thing that gave me so many issues before STILL wouldnt stick so i put 2 cups in there on either side of it to hold in there like (-------) to hold it down there, this pic should show that

also.. the tubs got 9 gallons in it.. in the other tub, it was about 4 gallons and the pots were sitting in it about an inch or 2... NOW they are above the water about 3 or 4 inches.. was told this is a good thing? watchya want aye?... put a hefty dose of hygrozyme in it as well.. surprisingly like 20 tsps or so only upped the ppm like 40?.. weird but i dosed it for sure, hopefully clear up those roots...

the water might be a little low ... like i said prolly 3 or 4 inches UNDER net pot.. but just lookin in there with this pic makes it look like 1000x better environment for roots Seriously
 
If you still have the root slime as I call it..pull them out rinse off with p.h water.I use a spray bottle.get that gunk off. I use the hygozyme n that will fix your issue. I run the water level 2 inches below the net pots.this allows the popping bubbles to act as an areomist.and as far as your oxy level you gota gang of bubbles in their.its not an oxygen issue.kepp the roots clean n I would back off the seaweed nute. If your using hygrzyme this will provide the enzymes you need.this in conjuction with some frsh h2o that you put in should help bring you roots back.they may stay a lil bit brown but it will help grow more new roots while feedind on the dead root mass.and as far as ppm's go 500 is a good num for the established plants...but the seedlings may not be able to handle the ppms just yet.its better to lower the ppm's just until they get a lil more growth.then just bring them back up once they've established a root system that can handle that can handle fluxuations if they occur.

so i raised the water so its now like 2in from net pots and for some reason theres a lot more bubbles on the left side of the tub, so i just put both the bigger plants over there and turned the tub so they get more light.. when i raised the water up i added like a gal+ and this dropped the ppms to like 300 so ima sit there for now and see what that sprout does.. prolly raise it at next res change.. also pulled the 2 deadest leaves off plant a, the handicapped lookin one

butcher: yeah theres a Shit ton of bubbles in there NOW.. it looks like the jacuzzi of the Gods, but before it was like a swamp as far as bubbles go.. like the roots didnt even move in the water and some of them didnt even get bubbles.. it was bad.. but yeah ima wait til tonight or tomorrow and see how the roots look, if they still a lil gunky ima pull em out n spray em down, thats a reall good idea thanks for helpin brother i owe u!

I keep up to 12", but I also have a drip system. Take a look at my grow... I've definitely seen root rot in the first one with a small res, and having a 30 gallon tub in the latest grow has made a big difference.

those bubble disks seem to work way better than mine did. i bought mine from the hydro store. 4" bubble disk, had maybe 8 holes releasing bubbles.

anyways. it looks like yours will be fine..
nobodys came up with a reason why youre leaves are funky lookin?
 
From what I can tell, having a pump in the system to circulate water really helps the roots - but there is a fine balance between too much and not enough water cycles.

I used 5/8 and 1/4 clear tubing, and an old pump on mine... I think even lowes sells them as pond pumps. Used a boat bilge pump on another... but you get the idea.
 
guys they look like shit.. ok so the roots are pearly white, im lovin that but they all were COMPLETELY covered in "snot".. i think thats why they look like shit right now.. idk tho i keep jumpin from one conclusion to the next.. the leaves are browning like these things are dying but theyre growing slowly.. idk what the hells going on at all, so frustrated wit this shit seriously..

btw i used a spray bottle to get rid of all that snot.. maybe now the roots will be able to take food and maybe make these things look a lil better.. i hope so <tear> lol..
 
they were.. theyre white now, just covered in snot, like i said i fixed..

its the actual plant growth im concerned with, should i say the lack thereof

the leaves are browning??? and the whole things becoming slightly brittle from the outside in like its dying??...

its only been a day but yea, it climbed b/w last night and tonight.. to about 6.2.. i put sum ph down in it, not used to how much i should put in it yet cuz of the size of the tub.. ima go check ph now see if it came down.. i put about 3ml's in like i said, 10gal
 
wow so ph was at 6.5 right now????... i put like almost a whole pipette of ph down in there now so hopefully that brings it down... damn thats high, will that cause the leaves to dry and brown/brittle??... also i have a fan on them but its not oscillating and 24hours.. would that have anything to do with it?..

ph reads 6.8 this morning after all the ph down i put in it last night... plant b's leaves are getting browner by the hour

im on my way to a 7hour class.. ill hafta get water on my way back from it and change res after .... s h i t

so what could this be?..
