DWC Bubbler Grow Tent First Attempt

a good solution to your pump problem is to add a bypass. get a T connector, and install it right above the pump still in the res. then it will stir the res as well as feed the top.

Hey Odorous! Great grow ya got going on here! I love the bushy plant - have a few of those myself. Yes, the LST sure makes a difference on getting more top budsights!

I did bad things to my first set of seedlings too and am just now starting clones. Hardening off - I MUST start doing this! So glad I came in here to visit your grow cuz I learned something at just the right time! Have had mine 6 days in a humidity dome and NO hardening. Will change that today.

I also just love the support and growing education found here at 420magazine. A wealth of information!!! Keep growin' honey - it's lookin' good!!!

The Day has Cometh.

but first!:

BUTCH: yessir i did what WOF said cuz i have T's sittin around works perfect mwahaha! and i didnt mean that kinda dro shop... i mean like a hydroponics store, not a hydroponiccally grown bud store ;)

TUNES: thank you sir! i had it in dark for bout 36 hours before new light came in and was installed, and it actually grew a decent bit in the dark?!.... ? .... but a lot more bushiness was goin on so i tight it again further down the main stem, looking droopy cuz its had no light but its pickin up now... thanks for stoppin by dude!

(sorry idk how to rotate pics!)
IMG_04422.JPG

heres my complete htg package... BAS was talkin about the hella good deal she got right??.. i got all this for 250 (discount roughty = 180)
IMG_0434.JPG

lets see ..
cord socket (yea, part of ballast)
agromax 400w hps bulb
easycool6 reflector
light hangers (black things)
lighters (of course)
t-shirt (wooooo!!!)
timer (multiple settings, 2 outlet)
400w digital ballast
BC Sweet sample
GH floralicious plus sample
Humboldt snow storm Ultra full bottle

idk maybe i was just excited to open all this new fun shit but i thought it was a helluva good deal!.. you be the judge!

now as far as the tent goes... the ducting is A BITCH to work with goddamn!... but i got it all hooked up to the reflector in one side out the other with ONE duct booster fan right
(again sorry, dunno how to rotate pics)
IMG_0444.JPG

thats the duct booster at the top SUCKING air through the reflector

when the tents closed (hasnt been for long....) the temps raise up to 92...!

i figured this would happen so im workin on it right now... what i think ill do is put a ductbooster fan in everyone one of the holes in the tent.. ive got 2 in the back to work with and 2 on the ceiling of it---->
IMG_04453.JPG

and as far as pics go, its REALLY hard to get in there to take pics guys.. realllly tight quarters! if you remember how my rooms setup...................
(old pic from earlier, in case anyones confuzd* also, dunno how to rotate sorry)
IMG_02773.JPG

i barely fit in the closet alone, let alone a good shot be possible lol...
IMG_0443.JPG

^ if you look right to the left of the plant, you can see one of the 2 holes in the back of the tent (4") im going to try to use... also that fans main purpose is to try to COOL OFF THAT LIGHT!!!!!! AH!

IMG_04413.JPG

so thats it folks... all i really have left to be complete (yeaaa riiiiight... like a grow rooms ever complete?..) is really a carbon filter and cooling off this damn thing!

thanks for sticking around for 18 pages to see this ACTUALLY turn into a Tent Grow.

yo odor, before you fill in every one of those, let me suggest start with just one or two.

maybe one on the top blowing out and then if you need another, either another on the top blowing out as well, or one on the bottom blowing in.

this way will move the hot air from the light up (the way it wants to go anyways) and out, and bring the cool air from the floor in.

well i may force air in ... i was thinkin i wouldnt need to cuz theres open vents all along the bottom of it.. so maybe just the top 2?... good idea tho man wheel As UsUal!

no i got it for 250.. there was 180 discounted weedy

You're stylin' bro ;).

Lotsa nice shtuff!

I second WOF's advice to just add one fan first, but......................

let's say just one doesn't cut it, unless you can get those additional duct booster fans really cheap, it *might* be worth spending the money for a "can-fan" style inline exhaust fan. And when you add the carbon filter, there's a good chance you're going to need one anyway.

Even if you only have to buy two additional booster fans, you're close to what HTG charges for a 4" can-fan style fan, and you'd still have your existing duct booster fan to use for an active intake if you need to.

What size is the tent?

Can't wait to see your setup complete and full of ladies ;).

I'm still lovin' your DIY ebb and flow. I just love stuff like that. It would be nice to have a DIY section here, separate from the "grow room setup" section, because all the DIY projects get lost in different forums and threads.

And yeah, Weedy's right, who cares how many pages it takes? Some of those pages are the result of you asking very good and pertinent questions. Look at the huge number of grows here that go belly up and fade away because the grower didn't do that before moving forward. I admire your forethought and careful approach.

rock on brother!

not bad weedy!.. this timers pretty slick like an extra 10 bucks.. they charge 15 for the hangers i got too

sun: yeah like WOF said, 6'' are only 25 bucks!... can you remind me? i know we spent like 3 pages talking about it.. but what was the solution? would it be worth me putting another 6'' inline fan on the other end of the reflector for intake to help push air through??..

also sun, the only 4'' holes in the tent i have are in the Back.. which is up against a brick wall lol... so if i put stuff there i AM going to have to move it forward a little bit :/...

these numbers arent for sure right now as well b/c today is a hot ass day in my house period.. i set my thermometer out in my bedroom and it read 82 so

looking ahead, what i think ill do is install ONE 6'' duct booster fan on TOP of the tent then eventually getta can fan to cool the reflector... once i do that ill have the extra duct booster fan thats cooling the reflector right now and ill add it to the ceiling of the tent for 2 exhausts...

til things get smelly then who knows what the hell ill do lol...

o yeah Sun... its about 3' by 3' by 6' approximately

thanks everybody!!! im glad yall tuned in today cuz my grow rooms been taking over my entire day off lol....

Odorous, the tent is coming along quite well. Gonna be hard to cool the tent if the outside air is already at 82. Anyway to get an air conditioner in the room (not the tent) to hep cool the ambient air? We try to keep ours around he mid 70's, seems to work well. Tis a fine job on that LST as well bud. Oh, and btw, thanks for the reps bro, most appreciated. Sorry ittook me so long to get here, but I did go back to the beginning to catch up. ^420, keep it green friend.

hey wow gmt i appreciate that bro!

air conditioning... is there any type of a/c unit that does NOT have to be vented outside?.... thats a stupid ? i think but i figured id ask.. cuz thats not really possible for me... we have central air but im not tryin to kick it on.. save on $$ ya kno

its cool its chilly at night but the lights off then.. o well im not TOO worried... just gotta keep the rez cool!

thanks!

Ya, we have an a/c unit in the basement window. This is a split level house, so full height basement on one half, 4 foot concrete crawl/storage space in the other half. Only problem is, the a/c unit does not monitor the grow room temp because it is mounted in the laundry room window. Have to check on it several times a day to adjust the temps. I have the cold air output vented thru some ducting and thru the wall that divides the laundry room and the grow room. I placed a 6 inch inline duct fan in the duct to assist the a/c blower. Then I have another inline duct fan on the cooltube to exhaust the heat out of the room. Soon it will be cold enough outsde to eliminate the a/c unit and bring in filtered air from outside. That should reduce our electric bill quite a bit. I am in for the rest of the gro bro. ^420, lookin forward to more pics.

really SS how much is a 4" can?

a 6" duct assist from home depot is $25. hard to beat that if your going cheap.

It's $75.95 for a 4" can.

What would make me lean towards the can fan is that they maintain flow significantly better than duct assist fans when pulling through a filter, and there's a good chance Odorous may need it when things get stinky.

Also, I've become a believer in pumping *lots* of fresh air through my tent. I think MJ plants love that. The entire volume of air in my tent is being replenished 2.6 times per minute, and I think it's one of the key factors in how fast and strong my current grow is flowering.
