Hey hey everybody! Hope your all doin well and enjoying your Sunday! Lots of stuff going on over here at the Dutch house and boy oh boy am I busy!
Wanted to do a brief update today on my feeding schedule for the big girl as she’s in her final week(s)!
Today was another feed day for her and it was the beginning of her tapering.
Full Bloom Feed per Gallon:
-7mL calmag
-8mL Bloom A
-8mL Bloom B
-8mL BudCandy
-8mL OverDrive
PHed between 5.8-6.2 throughout the grow for optimal nutrient uptake.
With these final weeks among us i have begun to taper her feeding down to the following schedule per gallon:
-6mL calmag
-6mL Bloom A
-6mL Bloom B
-8mL BudCandy
-8mL OverDrive
This is the beginning of the taper to which I will end up eliminating the Bud Candy and bring down the bloom nutes to 4mL/gal.
OverDrive will be reduced to 6mL/gal and
this will be her new feed schedule until her final harvest.

Give her a couple days of dark before you chop and then harvest early in the day. This should boost terpenes at the end.

Ok sooo I have a question about this.
I don’t have any closed closets or black rooms in my house.. my closet is a 10x10 walk-in with a skylight so it’s always bright and I don’t have any other “FULL DARK” spaces in my house. What would be the best option in this case?
I can’t leave her in the tent because her little sister will still need the lighting.
Maybe a cardboard box that she will fit inside of. Terpenes are produced during lights off, so early each day they have a full compliment of terps. But lights and rising temps during lights on flash off a lot of terps.

Hmm I’ll have to try and figure it out. Thanks for the advice Penny I had read about the dark period before harvest but wasn’t positive on it! Knowing that Terp levels are highest first thing in the am is a great tip!
Can you get a cheap blackout curtain anywhere? This didn't work for me because my family kept forgetting and opened the door every hour by mistake lol

@Pennywise ok so I’ve been thinking more about the dark period. Would I be able to put the whole tent into the dark for 24hrs Then have lights come on take her down and chop while leaving the other EM in there? Would that 24hr dark period affect her a lot?

Loved the vid with the down tempo, like a white Barry White with mood music. Very well done except maybe go horizontal to avoid the black cropping. Your garden is so clean too, really commend you on that.
You could possibly hang a very very loose garbage bag over, making sure it covers your window, or plant. I noticed a huge difference now that I do dark periods after flowering,

24 hours would be better than none, it shouldn't screw up the other plant.

I’m trying to figure out my best solution for this dark period. I’ve thought I could take my little EM out of the tent for a day and place her in the front room under the LED and then after the allotted dark time bring her back up pull her big sister out and adjust her into the tent by herself for finishing. Sad that I’m going to have a completely empty flower tent sigh....
If I left the little EM in my office under the LED would that be bad for her for 2X4, 12hrs light cycles?

I’m still debating my best route of action! But making sure if I did blackout the tent for a 24hr period it wouldn’t stress the other girl to much.
As long as it's totally dark for the lights off cycle.
Do you have a closet you could use maybe for your dark period? I use a closet then I just hang a blanket in front of the door, that seem to do the trick for me.

Unfortunately no closets. I know that sounds weird but it’s my house layout haha! I’m very open concept. But that being said I may just dark out the tent for 24 and chop.... I think that may be my most successful and easiest option unless I can figure something out before harvest day
True you can do that. I just hate for you to have to move stuff, but that's what harvesting is all about. You could just do your idea with the LED, you'll come up with something I'm sure. Maybe just buy a small grow tent for this purpose next time and you won't need to outfit it, just use it for the 48 dark period.
