Dutchman’s 1st Grow Ever: 2018

October 13 - Day 76

Harvest Day
Finally finished trimming, washing, and hanging all of WW1 !! She turned out lovely little less than what I was expecting but a good haul overall at 317g wet of solid bud,
60g wet of medium sized bud and 55g of small popcorn that is going into the concentrates bin!

So 422g of total wet weight off of her... excited to see what she weighs when she goes into jars!

Quick question about harvested popcorn and trim.... do you have to dry it out then decarb before baking or running it into a concentrate? Or can you just decarb it and off to the races?...... thanks for the input!

After moving the 2 Early Miss sisters around in the tent and getting the net installed I gained about 12” of space!! Awesome considering these girls are about to explode in the upcoming weeks with their light change tomorrow!! Going to be very exciting to finally see what these EM have for flowering! After upsizing EM1 to a new 7Gal pot I watered her with 2Gal of Feed water to help her with her transition! ill be updating with lots of pictures over the next few days as the progress with then SCROG begins ! Hope everyone is having s great Saturday and enjoy these harvest day photos!

Keep em green everyone!

Love the dollies...good idea!

They are a dream for spinning the plant in the tent and for watering! Makes it super easy and keeps good air flow all around the pot!

Nice clean setup!

Thanks Penny I try to keep it as neat and tidy as possible! Keeps the grow at optimal performance level!

I know that folks in Doc's hibrix kit transplant and flip but I'd give them a week to push new roots first. Someone on this site did an experiment like that and didn't see much root growth into the new soil when they flipped right after up-potting.

Oh really eh! Ok maybe I’ll let her go till next week then and flip her next Saturday! Thanks for the heads up Shed! I want her to use the most of that 7G she can! Big veg big harvest right!? Haha!

Thanks for all your support guys! Mans a bunch!

Here’s some delicious OG for you all to enjoy!

Thanks brother appreciate it! Now a long slow cure to get these widows to their optimal level! My Early Miss is going to be a happy girl once she settles into her new pot!

Congrats Dutch. I've enjoyed the trip so far & look forward to staying for a while more.

I'm sure you've heard many times on here but Boveda 62% packs and burp those jars a few times a day.

Yes I’ve been doing my research on proper cure and drying! Boveda62% once they are in jars sounds good to me! I’ll get them at my local hydro shop in a few days before I have to jar them up ! Thanks brother

Great work! Congrats on the harvest!:bravo:

Thanks a bunch Lady! Super happy with my first harvest and excited to see how I can improve on the next one ! Hope your having a good weekend!

Congrats Dutch. I've enjoyed the trip so far & look forward to staying for a while more.

Hey Oldtimer! Glad your enjoying yourself so far! Never be shy with piping in or shouting out! All thoughts and comments welcome here! Your welcome to stay as long as you like! Tokeables are over on the table! Make yourself right at home!

I dry it in the oven first before I decarb it. That way I know the buds are hitting the decarb temps. Evaporation is a cooling process :).

Excellent thanks Shed! How long do you dry before a decarb? I’ve got all my small larf and popcorn drying In my rack right now !

Croptoberfest up in here! And my favourite strain too! Nice job dutchy:) Excellent seed choices!

I see your after my #scrogqueen title :D

Haha you can keep #scrogqueen I’ll take #scrogking title :rofl:
Well we will see anyways it is my first attempt!! Fingers crossed I can do it justice!

One last thing for anyone who can answer... I’ve read that drying room temps should be about 70’F and 50-60% humidity. My question is will my temp being 60-65 be to low for the slow dry ? I turned my box fan on for an hour this morning to circulate the air and pull in fresh air.

Thanks for the input and all the help !

60% RH and 60F is about perfect IMO. I wouldn't put too much air blowing around. Just enough so it's not stagnate. Aim the fan up and into a wall or something. I am jellous in that you can get ambient conditions like that. My basement lives at 50% RH and below and 70-73F. The plus side is that I don't have to worry about mold much. Trying to dry in 40%RH is a b%^&$.

Yea my RH here is great I haven’t had any issues in my tent right now I’m at 40-50% and in the house I’m about 50-60% I keep it cold cause that’s how I like it so my house Is always cold!

My fan is in my “Dry-box” its a 12v cpu fan.
I just plugged it in this morning for the first time to get some new fresh air into the box it has 2 passive intakes at the bottom as well

With a little fan like that you are golden. I hope it dries out well for you. All the work we put into growing and flowering these things out and you can screw it up in the dry/cure phase real easy if you're not careful. Looks like you are on top of things.

Thanks Sam ! Hope your feeling better now too! I actually got my drybox idea from @Mr. Krip thanks for that lovely idea!

Alrighty! So I checked in on the 2 Early Miss girls and they are doing great!

Em1 didn’t even get phased by her transplant! She has perked up more and pointed those leaves to the light! The net is working wonders giving her a great spread! I’m going to give her another day to settle in and get her roots out into the new soil and then give her a bit defoil before I flip this upcoming weekend! I plan on giving a big defoil now and 3 weeks into flower then just remove fan leaves as needed throughout flowering. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! Here’s a couple pictures of EM1 filling in that net already!
