Dusty's Winter Grow

I'll see if I can get the hygrozyme over here, any help with seeds is a bonus :) I think AN stuff is stupidly pricey but you know they do the research & put the finest ingredients in there. You do get what you pay for with a lot of their stuff which is why this grow interests me. Getting the bud candy thrown in kinda takes the sting out a bit though, that's not a bad deal.

I've just started using Multizyme by H&G with RO so I'll see how that performs in coco & DWC.

Hey Trig....i just wanted to counter part of what you said:)lol.....the taking of any fans that are at least an inch long is to allow the light to penetrate all the way down to where he has lollipopped......i have done a side by side with 2 critical kush plants.....one i topped and lollipopped and did a heavy defol of all fan leaves an inch or longer with the exception of a few on the outer edges that would not cover light to any lower sights.......the other i just did a light defol every once in a while....maybe 5 fan leaves at a time...and most of those were ones that yellowed due to no light....i actually did about 3/4 ounce better on the one i did nothing too, but that being said there was almost and ounce of popcorn buds that ended up going for butter....the buds on the one heavily defoled.....there was next to no popcorn.....all the buds were tight solid beautiful things.....as to the one that i basically left alone the buds were big but airy.....not real dense......the one with the denser buds is actually a better smoke in my opinion.....so i have done it for a little while before i grew 2 of the same to do a side by side........so after my long story......lol....it is to allow better light to the lowers which imo helps them to grow denser and better quality:)......

GD,
you make excellent points and I would agree that it is often advantageous to trim upper leaves in order to let light through. That being said, any time you defoliate you are lowering pN capacity. Unless of course the surface area of newly exposed pN surface is greater than what you removed. While you may be allocating resources lower down the plant, you do it at the expense of the upper part and whatever potential you erased by removing it's leaves. As far as the long petioles, this is a typical response in all plants when a leaf has been shaded it self- leaves grows out/up seeking better exposure.

All of the techniques we use are applied on a case by case basis and in this case I was simply saying that his plant looked great and that stress at this point in flowering was maybe not the way I would go and I only chimed as he asked the opinion of the thread...

so after MY long story - thanks for the good discussion! I have no fear that DKs baby will come out just dandy no matter what he does!

Cheers,

Trig

Hey Trig...you make an excellent arguement my friend and if it wasnt for me doing a side by side and with the experiences before that i would totally agree with you:).....but that being said your right....DK will knock it out of the park regardless and it is a personal decision to try it and to keep doing it.......we all find what works the best for us......and in this particular case it works great for me, but i am one small grower in an ocean of awesome growers......i take everything in......and will mull over what you had to say as i believe it is valid and good information......but the only way to tell for sure if you llike it or not is to try it:)lol......so now it is your turn to try it Trig:)lollol jk......have a good one buddy......i love discussions like this......different opinions and experience is what makes this place so great to learn the best ways to grow our favorite girls:)lol........

GD, I couldn't agree with you more! Everyone has to see what works for their situation and go with it. We get SO many different opinions and options being here... it makes someone like me, who knew absolutely ZERO about any of this just a few short months ago, able to pull off a harvest! :) Here's an example... I used Miracle Gro successfully through 2 months of veg and had no problems at all.... others claim the stuff it a total nightmare. lol
:Namaste:

What does pN stand for Trig?

no arguments here! :-) this is what it's all about and this is what makes the 420Mag community the best on the block!

this is the best site, I learned a long time ago theres a million ways to skin a cat, and if youpoint your finger at someone you always have three pointing back at you lol. But really.
O.k. I have always started seeds in paper towell and ziplock. I had always done this so I can know if the seed pops, then I go to r.w. then I have the mrs. pull off the shell cause its always still on the sprout. The past four I went straight to the r.w. Cube after a 20 min soak in r.o. W/hygrozyme. All four have poped and have left the shell behind, thus eliminating two steps and getting all touchy feely with the tap root. These were put in four days ago.
Two blueberry in the back and deep cheese in front

Welshy I would get that 10000% of the time in one day I killed one trainwreck, one kalashnikova, and a criticalkush, somehow mrs. kiefers has that touch to get them free but I dont.
It may be a while before I plant more seeds but I will go straight in rock wool from now on.

i have this little plastic hook thing that the kids used with those loom bands things...it does a good job to get them off..

This is all new (and news) to me.... I've just been putting the cracked shell in the soil? I haven't been removing the covering.
:Namaste:

we mean when the she pops up and still have the shell attached to the first set off leaves..hope you understand lol im not the easiest person to understand when i try and write it down....always makes sense in my head lol

Now we jdm to funny. gratz on the baby seedlings.

I regularly have to remove either the shell or the membrane. My tools of choice are a pair of tweezers & one of those micro screwdrivers. Considering I have the touch of a rapist, I don't do too bad & most survive :)

How did he do Japanese? I know how to do these :)☼§Ã¦Ã¸Ã˜œŒÃ¼®©
