Gazoo has no business blaming himself...he has followed directions to a 'T'. Like has been said ..there are at least three of us with the very same symptoms...early to mid bloom,..everything before that was perfect. I seen my issues coming on ever so slightly about a month ago and suspected it would get worse , as i've seen this before . I immediately addressed it (symptoms) with brix and snake oil along with epsoms. No change in plants...just got worse. Now...that being said plants are chugging along but something is NOT right . I would recommend straight water for anyone having these extreme symptoms...after all it's only water ..and if Doc is right about a salt build up and too much organic matter (believe it!!)then water only is def. the way to go. Not 100% sure though...that's the part that bothers me. SS's plants are literally identical to mine. I could take pics and you would say they are hers , not mine,..that's how closely they resemble each other. Lets figure this out.
I'm about to start another very special grow (they all are...)and would like some answers...not just guesses...i've had about 25 yrs. of guessing ...i'm done with that ,...that's why i use Doc's gear so.....!
BrixNewb is up against the same problem. His girls in flower look like ours. I have to tell you, I was supposed to give Malawi an Energy drench and I mistakenly gave her TransWater instead. I started to beat up on myself for it, but thought better of it and decided there must have been a good reason for the mistake. Turns out that was apparently a good thing.
I have this guardian angel with golden wings.
Duggan, do you think TransWater would be safe?
I pulled out my records on my plants, and all three are in second run soil, and they're all running within a week of each other, so they've all had the same treatment. Let's assume please that I know what I'm doing by this point, shall we?
The mystery to me is why the Malawi? I've used the same soil that I used with the Dark Slide, and she looks fabulous. The Jamaican, using another bin of soil but the exact same drenches, same bottles, same atmosphere, and identical lighting is growing like a dream, churning out trichomes that smell of fruit salad. Just what we expect from the kit.
That Malawi though......it hurts my heart to see her suffering like this, struggling to make a go of it against God only knows what.
Kazoo, we know the consistency of the kit produce, and that's why we blame ourselves when things go wrong. Everyone is so gung ho about the fabulous results that we shy away from sounding an alarm. It's completely understandable. I still believe the kit is one of the best methods one can choose to grow with, but we have a mystery to solve before more grows are compromised. This is one of the finest communities I've seen for brainstorming a problem and coming up with usable solutions.
I found myself wondering while out walking and thinking about the curiosity how many other growers are having difficulties that aren't speaking up because there's a certain amount of intimidation with the kit and our enthusiasm for it? Now we have four. Who else is out there?
