I agree - if they're growing calyxes, they're under the influence of blooming hormones and should be treated like a blooming plant.
But I'd be giving them Energy during stretch and early pistil set - that's just my style. Then C-drench when they're fully set.
Doc has grown a lot of plants in 12/12 from seed, so his advice will be better.
As far as the 11 or 12 hour day, it's mostly dependent on the daily total amount of light, not so much the hours. In my experience, running as little as 9 hour days, there are too many other variables to point to a one hour difference in day length. And 11/13 enforces the blooming hormones better - less chance of hermies, tighter control of sativas.
