DrZiggy's 1st Journal Featuring High Brix - LEDs & Cool Strains

No, because more than just decarboxylating occurs with curing. :)
I wanted to sample fresh bud once decarbed and see if it had any effects...it does! :)

I do that all the time, except I pop it into the oven at 225 for 30 minutes. It gives me the option to munch it if I choose, and I do choose to do so very often. Maybe I'm imagining it, but I think it has a more potent hit when it's been cooked first. Of course, I have yet to try my first properly cured harvest, so that practice may go the wayside soon. Maybe not. I do like an occasional sugar leaf.

I want to learn to garden like you do Zig, but with LOS. Honestly. I'm absolutely enthralled. Let me read that first journal.

Yes, it packs a potent hit when cooked since its decarbed with the heat. :) weed decarboxylates slowly when drying and curing. When we burn it, it decarboxylates quickly, sometimes too much... Thats where vaporizers come in.

SweetSue, :thanks: if I am doing this, you certainly can..anyone can with Docs Kit.
Im having fun playing around and getting decent results. These ideas were conjured up while smoking awesome weeds and trying them out :)
I cant think of any other plant that is so amazing!

Taste test and effects of the 30 min pressure cooked weed..

Before cooking
Visual- frosty fresh looking buds
Terps- fruity maybe slight citrus, slight berry, slight earthy, cocoa
High- Didnt smoke this plant, but smoked her sister from last week, delish!! :thumb: very cerebral, creative, giddy

After cooking
Visual- cooked, still looks like weed, but very wet
Terps- most of preterps are gone, some cocoa exists. Might change when some moisture dissipates
I ate a flattend popcorn bud, size of a u.s. dime, almost a nickel.
Taste- soft like cooked spinach, bittersweet, chewed and swallowed easily, very little flavor of the smells before cooking. Definitely taste the 'weed' component..probably chlorophyll and such
1 hr later..same high as smoking, slower in build up

Can use in green smoothies, sandwiches, sautees...

its works well! :)

Thank you, Doc!
Do you think I chopped her a few days too soon? The larger one is going to be 2x the volume. I need to go back 40 pages or so, but i dont think I topped or fimmd both.
I postponed the larger ones harvest.. I continued to give her Cat Drench when I started w GE/Transplant to finish the smaller one.

Reading this reminded me to cook some little buds for Dale. I think that's probably the easiest and most effective way to do this now, since I have so little time or energy for cooking these days. I'm beginning to become concerned about the glaucoma pressures. It's been over a month since he was able to medicate daily. Wake up girl! Thanks Ziggy.

I've gotten up to page 16 and my god man, the food! You're driving me crazy!!! :laughtwo::green_heart:

Sweetsue, are you giving him any strains that treat glaucoma?

I wasn't aware that there were strains particularly useful for glaucoma. See how new I am to all this? I've just made it a point to move Heaven and earth to keep him supplied with whatever I could find. Sad, isn't it? Recommendations? How would I research that?

Thanks. Some nice choices there. Jamaican Dream sounds nice.

?? Did I hear someone say "Jamaican Dream"?

OMG that's a nice strain! I grew several of them and they were all great! Check out my first journal. :thumb:
