Clockwise from back right: chunky skunk, platinum Punch, fruity pebbles og, sticky Glue, and Dolato in the middle.

Just ended a 7 day drought in hempy (week 6). Dolato (1/5 the size of the other containers) and platinum Punch (closest to the fan) got some rescue water with glucose and bennies at day 4, everyone else made it the full 7 days. Noticable shift in smell to something much gassier/fruitier.

I don't think a 5 gallon hempy would make it to 11 days without harming the flower.

I'm really starting to think it's the size of the pot, that makes you be able to drought for longer, the one I had in a giant flower bed, droughted for 2 months. I tried to drought my Auto Sour Diesel (in a 1gallon), and by the 3rd day I had to rescue my plant, or I would have been at the point of no return.

I believe it's too less of soil to retain moisture, and no humus layer is able to form to keep the roots still semi-wet, for an extended period of time, there might very well be a limit to what size of the container you're able to pull droughting off in.

Safe Regards,
Darade.

Exactly. Container size and medium are huge variables here. We should take a look at the available studies and see what size containers they were using and what medium. Different mediums water retention qualities are well documented so we should be able to come up with an easy equation to figure out "container size + medium retention level = x number of days drought recommended".

From what I've been seeing here and other places "L.W.A." leaf wilt angleis what we can go by more than the amount of time between water.
Since different mediums and containers will use water differently.
I'm still undecided on what I'm going to try with my current grow.

Undoubtedly LWA is the most reliable when possible. In my case with a packed SCROG and hydro it was too difficult to assess on the shorter back plants resting at net level, so I pushed them as far as I could without nutrient issues reaching the flower.

Hi guys! Burk, what an amazingly beautiful haul and Braddah, wowza man, lovely drought shots. 423 take your time, lots to consider and process. Stone, what are you starting up? I've got to respond to each of these when I come back later tonight to catch up and begin talking about my soon to be droughted Big Jack Widow auto. She is technically only 46 days above ground but she hit flower early and was off to the races.

Thanks again for all this wonderful information you all present and all the positive vibes you give to our :420: family.

Here's a sneak of Eva, our next droughter. T minus 2.5/3 weeks or thereabouts

:thanks: @Weed Seeds Express for allowing this grow and drought to come to fruition

Hi guys and gals!

Looks like we will be droughting Eva next weekend or sometime next week.

She is a prime candidate for this technique with her strong genetic line and stature.

She is extremely healthy and plumping fast and she's been telling me she is ready to go!

I'll be doing my usual day to day updates with her including leaf shots, overall plant shots and of course trichome pics.

A couple of yesterday's pics of her are below

@StoneOtter will be sharing pics of his 3 droughters soon here as well!

As we all know, the more droughters the merrier!

Happy soon to be droughting!

You and me Krissi! This is the warm up to the end game aria coming. The fat man is warming up the pipes! Lalalala!🎼
LA LA LA laaaaaaaa

5th Drought day and still leaf stem deflection is nil. 10 gal pots with mulch keeps moisture! This is Zkittlez by @CoffeeShopSeeds

I wish I had the space for 10 gl!!! My photos stop at 5s and my autos, 3s. Imagine the droughting I could do provided I had larger pots! These look sensational and it appears the addition of the mulch helps tremendously Stone! Thank you so much for sharing!

If the point is water stress, and I assume it is, a smaller container would seem to be advantageous.

Oh absolutely I would just want to see if I could make the full 11 days had I a larger container. Never happened so it would be nice to accomplish!
