Hi Dres, I just got finished catching up on your thread and your plants look FANTASTIC! Very good job for any grow let alone your first one. The amount of attention you put into what you do is certainly paying off huge.
I agree with the others about letting them dry out a little more. Just keep in mind you are about to change lights and the HID will prolly dry them out faster so your existing schedule might be just about perfect or maybe not even enough once there under the new light and growing like mad.
It is extra important in veg to let them dry out as much as you can without causing harm because it forces the plant to grow more and more roots to find water. If the roots are always in moisture the plant doesn't need to keep creating more roots to try and find it, not to mention the lack of oxygen problem. Then once you flip you have a huge root structure in relation to the rest of the plant and it can go crazy and pump tons of energy into creating buds
It is also harder to over water them in flower because you have a big healthy root system that can suck up as much as it wants. Doc Buds has some good info on here about this and techniques to get the plant slightly root bound and transplanting right before the flip so when it hits the flip it explodes with growth. This is how I always did my grows before but I didn't realize all the benefits it was just what someone told me to get them ready and started for flowering lol.
I can't wait to see how the homemade filter works out for you I might go that route also.
I can't believe you have been able to keep from flipping them AND not smoking. I would of flipped them the second they were old enough if I had to wait until they finished to smoke even if it meant a much smaller total yield. Good for you, you will be well rewarded in the end!
I ordered some TGA PlushBerry beans today. I can't wait to get them going, they will be up after my auto grow. The Plush Berries taste like Plush Berries...
