Dresney's First Grow - Organic - Indoor - GDP - Trainwreck

I would get the filter dres. I was a bit sceptical about there capabilities. But since i got one, i reckon they are the nuts !!

The only time i can smell the girls is in the cabinet.. No smells outside at all.. The house only smells of weed due to me tokin in the kitchen..

And josticks take care of that for me..

You wont regret it dres, ya house will smell all frou frou !!!

:peace:

Yeah, it's on the list for 'some day,' but it won't be any time too soon. Besides Christmas there are four birthdays in my family between December and January. And January brings several annual bills with it. Maybe in February or March I can add one.

It's rough building up a new hobby when you're broke around the holidays.

Don't we all know...

Hiya, everyone. :ciao:

Today is a feeding day for the girls. I was thinking I'd do the same amount and strength as last week.

But I have a couple of questions, accompanied by some photos.

Day 66

Pascalle

I had Mr. Dres hold this heavy pot up in the evening sun for this photo. I'm lucky he loves me. :laughtwo:

Loretta

Overall, she looks healthy...

tw1218132.jpg

But a mother knows when something is off. I'm hoping she's just thirsty, but she hasn't been the same since I fed her last week. She did perk up quite a bit after the mega-droop from her doubled feed, but she has never been quite the same. Her last feed was last Wednesday - 2 liters. She got a liter of plain water on Sunday. She didn't droop at all from the water on Sunday.

The ridges in her leaves seem more pronounced and she is much more wrinkly than normal between the ridges.

Usually she looks like this:
gdp1218134.jpg

See the difference? I know it's nothing super serious compared to the dire straits I see some plants in, but I want to know what causes this.

Also, Loretta has a couple neon spots on maybe 3-4 leaves.

I'm not in panic mode or anything, but I'm curious. Anyone have any ideas?

Should I keep the feeding the same strength and volume as last week?

:helpsmilie:

(PS - Heady, I'm so glad to see you here! :circle-of-love:)
(And everyone else too, of course. :circle-of-love:)

They sure look like they might not need any feeding atm.

They look good. They aren't needing the feeding maybe???? What do you think, just water next and see how they are looking, if they look like they need some more of your organic nutes feed them again? Not having ever used the blue mtn stuff I obv couldn't exactly tell ya, just a guess. But they do look great!

Maybe your organic nutes haven't all been eaten up by your plants and there is still food in the pot. I'm not anywhere near sure just getting ya thinking.

It's pretty cool you are on top of your grow like that. :) paying attn: :)

You can make a carbon filter yourself Dres :battingeyelashes:

Buy Activated carbon or aquarium filters, sprinkle it between some filter webbing or whatever,

And place it at your exaust outtake, before the air gets to the fan.

Aim for a few thin layers of carbon bits.

Make sure your fan can still pull air easily :)

Hi, everyone! :ciao:

I did go ahead and feel the girls the same strength and volume as last week. They seem okay with it: no burning or extended wilting. They did get a major droop going for several hours, but were well recovered the next day. Loretta seems to have bounced back; she's just a bit wrinkly still, but she's regained most of her perk.

I took a few pictures of the v2.0s. My nerdy husband corrected me on their names... apparently, I don't follow the rules of 'semantic versioning'. Loretta and Pascalle would be v0.0.0 and my v2.0s would be v0.0.1. Whatever, :geek:

Here they are after 8 days on their own.

Pascalle v2.0 aka v0.0.1

She's the bee's knees.

1220132.jpg

Loretta v2.0 aka v0.0.1

Her dyed leaf is yellowing. I guess she's draining that leaf of all its goodies. The opposite leaf is starting to lighten too. I guess this means she hasn't rooted yet? I'm starting to wonder if she's going to pull through.

1220133.jpg

This is how they are most of the time. Lil Loretta in her dome, Pascalle standing tall on her own in the big world.
1220134.jpg

Rico :battingeyelashes: I think I will try out a homemade filter. Good idea. :battingeyelashes:

Thanks for the compliments, COorganics. I am on top of my grow... literally, several times a day. :laughtwo:

I think I'm going to make a bubble cloner in the next few days. Yay for more clones!

:rollit:

Baby's are looking good dresney :goodjob:

Yeah Dresney! Go for the bubble cloner! I haven't fired mine up yet because I still need to go pick up an air stone, but it's taunting e as we speak. Of course, I don't have any clones for said bubble cloner:) Still I want to see it in action. Good luck with yours!

With cuttings...clones.....The yellowing tips of leaves can be a sign that they are rooting........they are not getting enough through their newly formed root system yet and they are using the stored energy in the lowest leaves. I am not exactly sure if that's what I'm seeing in that one ugly leaf.....but probably has something to do with it. I have a plant with the exact symptoms of that leaf....on a single leaf just like that, and I think mine is a deficiency from being locked out, which could actually be the same reason yours is yellowing like that....not able to get enough of something through the roots for one reason or the other.

~ I always cut sick leaves away from the plant as soon as possible. Just in case. Because that one big yellow ain't ever coming back. And to use it for a lab experiment wont be a true number. a cutting casualty of war. The PH has to be top dead center where you want it when cloning, transplanting etc. etc. - a day before or so b4 I cut , transplant or clone...I condition the plant with Vitamin B... it is a wonder what it can do. ~ But way to start the new year off with some yum yums... :high-five:

Dres, you KNOW I'm pulling for Lil Loretta!

Baby's are looking good dresney :goodjob:

:thankyou: I'm already pleased with how long they've survived. I honestly expected to be in the Dead Clone Society by now.

Yeah Dresney! Go for the bubble cloner!

I'm going to whip one up Jay-style with some flip flops. I could kick myself... I was out shopping the other day and saw some flip flops on sale for $1! I should have bought a couple pairs for cloning. :laughtwo:

Thanks for that. It gives me some hope.

That one ugly leaf got dyed from a red towel of mine. The funky colors (aside from the yellowing) were induced by me, unfortunately. :bigblush:

I'm going to cut it away when it completely yellows. I figure I'll let it suck out everything it can before I snip it off. Other than the yellow it's not sick, just ugly. :biglaugh:

The pH was fine when I cut it. The funky spots are something I did when the leaf got very dry. I sprayed it with water when the leaf was nearly crinkly dry, and then I blotted it with a red towel. The towel bled onto the leaf and gave it spots where it was super thin. The color drain since then has been interesting to watch though.

Dres, you KNOW I'm pulling for Lil Loretta!

Don't worry, Reg. I'm going to take more clones from her to experiment with a bubble cloner. And I'm going to try revegging both of my ladies. I have separation anxiety big time. :goof:

looking great Dresney....:thumb:

That dome you have with that inverted cone has me thinking the inverted part will constantly drip water onto the clone....

May or may not be an issue....just makes me go hmmmm
