most grocery stores have a water machine outside that dispense RO filtered water that's Ph neutral at 7.0 around here its 25cents a gallon. some folks also use citrus or grape juices to help lower the Ph

I'm old enough that I can't carry jugs up my stairs so easily anymore or the grocery store idea would be good. Going to research the citrus/grape juice thing. I've been using PH down but that's strong hydrochloric acid- kinda scares me every time I use it.

That's odd. Unless I'm mistaken, dechlorinating tap water should lower pH.

man we almost are slack on rain here. it rained Thursday. but it was very lite. at least I dont need to mow a lot

I dont have a meter- I use the test kit with the little vial and the drops. And the longer the water sits the higher the ph goes. It's wierd.I would be suspicious of my meter, Ph should drop as the chlorine is released or gassed off, rather than rise...chemically, it dosen't make sense.
