Dr.Seeds Prescribes The Widow & The Alien ️️

Quick update on the bean drop on the 20th. I had no idea solo cups were not a good idea to soak a seed. It was my first time doing it. Thought nothing of it really. The tap stuck to the plastic at the bottom of the cup, like a snail. I tried shaking it, draining it, sloshing it, until I finally got my tweezers. Pulled it right apart.
The second one went in the regular glass jar and had no issues sticking.
I'm not sure if anyone experienced this before but why take a chance, stick with glass.

Day 0 Update

Hey everybody!

I might as well show you how I plant my seeds. Everyone has their own style and this is what works for me. First I have a cup of water and add 1/2 tbsp H2O2. I used plastic solo cups for this drop and I'm not sure why. The post above explained the problem I had encountered.
Anyhow, second time around, in a glass jar, and the bean sprouted within 24 hours ready for planting. I go straight from water to soil as long as I have 1/4" tap or more exposed.
This first pic shows the seed that I had to kill and the new seed that was dropped right after I killed her sister. It has a chunky tap, which you will see later as well.

I have a wooden dowel, 5/16" diameter, although a 1/4" one will do just fine. I make a mark on this dowel 5/8" from one end and insert it into the soil until the mark is reached. I rotate it gently to smoothen the wall of dirt around the dowel to give a nice clean home then remove it.

I soak a small piece of paper towel so when I remove the seed from the water I have a place to drop it and orientate it correctly before placing in the soil. I try and get the tap root pointing up as best I can. If I miss, then I miss. I don't go playing around with it once it's in it's home.
I lightly cover the seed, pack gently and wait.

So there you have it. I hope to have something come out tomorrow or the next day.

Hey everybody!

it's 4/20 and time to start my outdoor grow. I purchased some seeds from @DrSeeds and the customer service and shipping times are incredible. Now it's time to test their genetics ;)
They have an awesome selection to choose from and being a Canadian I'm finding it too convenient having them so close to home.

Tools for the job:
7 gal fabric pots
MGOS - Organic potting mix (with Sea Compost and extra perlite)
Nutrients continue to be Mega Crop v1
Training Methods: one quadline, one twinline
Water: Rain

The Stars of the Show

THE WHITE WIDOW - Photoperiod

I grew the WW last year, from a Canadian seedbank, and was really impressed with the quality of the smoke and the quantity. I did have some genetic issues with one but the smoke turned out fine in the end. I wanted to grow this again as it is my favorite smoke so far and my goto weed.
I'm hoping the Doc's seeds will live up to my expectations. :)

True to her name, White Widow quickly transforms from a healthy green plant to a snow-covered beauty, packing on a copious amount of frosty resin as her buds develop and swell into massive flowers. Indoors, generous yields mature fully in only about 60 days after this proven producer is switched to a 12/12 lighting schedule.
Lineage: BRAZILIAN SATIVA LANDRACE + SOUTH INDIAN INDICA

Gorilla Alien (Limited Edition) - Photoperiod
This will be a new strain for me. THC levels run in the 23-24% range and has a flowering time of 8-9 weeks. This plant will grow shorter than the WW above and should provide a pungent, earthy skunk smell as she ages.

Welcome one and all!
I'm really excited to get these off and running. Feel free to stop by anytime and see how things are going. I'll post some pics tonight with the bean drop and how I am going to plant them once the tap comes out.

Happy 4/20!

Sweet bro!

Go Boston Bruins Game 7 Mr. Sauga!!!!!
Welcome to the journal Nicky! Thanks for stopping by :)
Of course I would love Toronto to win, but I'm really hoping for a good game by both teams. I hope to see a tight checking game, lots of breakout passes and great goaltending by both teams.

Good luck Nicky!

You might be slippin' but you're still ahead if me.
:ciao:
Hey farside, thanks for dropping by! Did you ever reach out to FastBuds? I know Butters did and they fixed him up nicely with a Tee as well.

I use the exact same method, but I transplant into rapid rooter plugs and humidity dome and then soil instead of directly into soil. I like the additional stability the rapid rooter gives the seedling when I finally place it in soil.
Ya nothing wrong with your way at all. Lots do it that way.
Logically for me I want the seedling to be acclimated to the medium it's going to be in for its final home, in this case MG Organic Potting Mix. The theory behind it is simply so the plant doesn't have to adjust to a soil that has nutes or no nutes. It's already feeding on what's there and during uppot she knows what to expect.

I have not. Working off of inventory.

Only page three and nothing has happened yet so I'm calling this a win!

Unless they look like they were shot after lights-out ;).

Good info, thanks!
Yup, haha, anytime!

Thanks for joining in. It's hard to hide from you :)
:thanks:

You are far too kind Sauga. I’m not even a leaf fan and think the Bruins can suck a fat one lol.
I do it for :420: lol. It's what I feel inside that matters :)
Oh it's easy to hide from me...just leave the links in your signature! If you put them in a post though you will attract my attention ;).
Noted, careful where I post. ;)

All jokes aside...thanks!

:happy-birthday:

And we're off! Less than 36 hours after leaving the pool and into the mud bath the Gorilla Alien is officially on day one!

Not only that, the second WW has also broke soil, but we're not going to call that day one yet.

:Rasta:

Congrats to all you Beantowners. I was getting tired of my avatar anyhow. :)
