You can also take a small bud off and place it on a stand like this. I've seen people rig up articulating arms as well.
That might even be more effective here...One word....tripod!

Yup, steady as they go. You still need to use a remote or timer, else the camera shakes when clicking the clickie thing. Not so much at faster shutter speeds, but with that lens he's referring to it would.
