Dr. Cannabi's Kali Mist - DIY Organic Soil - Medical Grow & Show

Just checking in Doc. Things are looking tight in here. Keep up the good work.

Thank You BAR! :thanks:

I just got done with the third and last round of supercrop and defol. From here on out I'll bend break and tie, only as needed. Pics to come soon! :high-five:

Pic Update: Dr. Cannabi's Kali Mist - DIY Organic Soil - Medical Grow & Show

Here are the pics of the last supercrop and defol session. I wanted to wait to flip them but I'm getting super nervous about height and space.

If I had this to do over again I would have bought the BudMaster 1200 (Which is what they recommend). The footprint of the BM 675 just doesn't cut it in a tent this size. I'm sure I will end up with 4 more DIY panels and some side lighting in the future.

Also, I think 4 plants in this tent is the right amount for the size I like to grow them. I'm too old and broken to be moving these things around. :Namaste:

Here's the tea I just gave them. Brewed for 42 hours with my Microbeman 5 gallon vortex brewer:high-five:. The picture below that is of my homemade Ferrari brewer. This thing is powerful. Its an EcoPlus3 into a manifold into 5 air-stones. I had the pump mounted on my bench so I would never forget to keep it above the water level. I don't use it anymore because the MM brewer is superior.

Recipe:
1/3 cup BSM
1.75 cups EWC
1/4 cup Organic GEM Fish Fertilizer
A little over 4 gallons of water

Here's the girls after their last training session. I'll continue to train as needed.

Clone material. This is what I look for to take clones. Something old and solid that will not reach the canopy.

Is there much space for luggage in the Ferrari? I call shotgun.

I reeaaaally need to move towards a brewer that utilizes suction like Microbemans. I have brewed...maybe 5 or 6 teas with my current air stones and they already are disgusting. I have to soak them in alcohol and brush them with a toothbrush to get the ewc and fish hydrolysate off. boo.

And your pump...why the hell did I not just get a small commercial pump in the first place.

Hi Dr... lovely canopy :thumb: ... I read that you're growing your Kali Mist for a friend who's having chemo and being very interesting in medicinal effects of plants was wondering what made you choose this particular strain. Is it one you've tried before?

Hi MM. I have never tried Kali Mist. I bought the pack in my first order along with some Northern Lights and Shiva Skunk. I just bought them based on the description on the Attitude LOL :):):)! I had no idea how great it's supposed to be when I bought it. He loves Sativas and these girls are looking like they wont disappoint. I guess I just thought it was time to grow it! :Namaste:

Once I figure out what he really like I will try to grow that strain in 1/2 the tent for him. Right now we're just getting started. This is my first grow as his provider. Before I just gave him what I could. :peace::green_heart:

Hi CC!
The pump to get is the EcoPlus 3. The EcoPlus 1 is the noisiest pump I've ever owned. Cheap but LOUD! If you go with the Ferrari model, Buy some 33% or higher H2O2 and soak those stones (with the pump on) overnight between each brew. Recipe is 1 cup H2O2 to 1 gallon water. Let them dry completely before using them again. Be sure to brew straight water for at least an hour before adding your BSM and EWC. I only use GEM organic fish a few times the entire grow.

PS: You can see the design of the MM brewer in my pics... I doubt you'd be able to reproduce it exactly, but the concept is solid! :high-five:

Good on you doc, I wish you every success and really hope it benefits your friend :)

I always find it fascinating why people grow their particular strains. The more reading about this special plant I do, the more I realise just how much we just don't understand or haven't yet discovered about their potential benefits.

Cool, ill keep that pump in mind. I've only used the fish fert a few times now...and its a pain to clean. I usually dont let the stone soak that long so I'll see what that does for me.

It would be pretty easy to make a replica of that brewer. But I'm more interested in a vortex design like his 12 gallon brewer. I have a friend who uses a 5 gallon water jug...i think I could make one even smaller.

It is an amazing plant MM. Most the people i know grow clones. Only a couple of my friends even bother with seeds. I just don't find any of the clones here to my liking. So I'm on the hunt for some keepers. Looking back on it. I killed 2 of the best plants I've ever grown. That won't happen again.

How's the foot print of your 1200 GOD in the 5x5 tent? Does it cover all the way to the sides? Your plants look like they are all getting sufficient coverage. :thanks:

Good morning Doc :) I see you're complaining about the footprint of your light, how high is it? Can you not raise it any?

Hi skunny,

I screwed up when I bought the light I did. BM recommends the 1200 for a 5x5 tent. That's almost double the light I bought. I was trying to be thrifty and use my old CLW lights. The hanging distance difference between the 2 lights make that almost impossible. If I hang the CLW 18 inches above the canopy it blocks out the BM. The CLW are big and bulky and throw a lot more heat as well.

The BM is at the very top of the tent as recommended. I kinda screwed the pooch on this one. I'm going contact BM and see if I can exchange for the 1200. :Namaste:

Doc you plants look soooo good.
man oh man I want a big tent. Very nice work brother. Have you been singing sweet serenades with that s.g. to em.

hehehe. I wait till bud cycle to hit them with the sg. While in flower, I try to stick to the acoustic guitar and hand percussion lol. I try to build up their confidence before shredding all over them :):)

If I was the real Santa Claus you'd have that big Ol tent my friend. :high-five:

Hi CC,
The key to clean stones is the H2O2. It just gets in there and dissolves all that gunk that builds up. I'll soak them for a couple hours, then turn The pump on and let in run over night.

I'd love to see what you come up with. I've seen a few really nice DIY 5 gallon vortex brewers on YouTube. :thumb:

I've used Peroxide before, but with similar results to the rubbing alcohol. I ran out of peroxide so went with alcohol this last time...maybe I'll give the peroxide another shot.

This is the basic design I would follow: Turbo-Vortex Tea Brewer

Thing is 5 gallons is too much for my needs....getting a vortex brewer in gallon increments to work properly is reliant on finding the right container. The search continues!

Yes, 33% peroxide 1 cup per gallon of water. That stuff is awesome for sterilizing those air stones.

That brewer is awesome. I would definitely go with something like that or the MM design. Either one is an improvement over the airstones.

Please come over hear and post pics of your DIY.

Thanks bud.:thanks:

Hey Doc thanks for the tip on the vortex brewer lid - I've got my brewer here ready to go but didn't want to fire it up without a lid. Thats an easy fix there and I'm all over it.

Nice looking ladies there too!

I was looking over you DIY LED lighting and your wiring and I have a suggestion for safety. I do a lot of wiring and soldering. Anyway I know you may be re-doing this one... your wires going into the plastic wire nut from the AC to the DC transformer are exposed. I've attached a pic from your original post of the area I'm concerned about. You've got the white and black from the AC going into the plastic nut but you have EXPOSED copper wire there, if they touch you or each other you have a serious hazard. You need to shrink wrap over the exposed copper (or in a pinch use electrical tape) so that copper cannot be seen or touched and they have to be isolated from each other too!

It'll be ages before I build another one, but I'll be sure to when I do!

Thanks Bo.

Yeah that pic was just too show my idea. I just set the wires in there for the picture. My new idea won't have any of those crappy connectors in it. GLAD you've got my back though bud. :thanks:

When you do your DIY projects, how do you create your Chasse? Do you have one of Big Ol metal benders? I've got some ideas for the BM DIY panels but with the cost of getting a prototype made it kind of kills those ideas before true consideration.

:Namaste:

Hi Doc,

First time stopping in....your ladies are looking lovely. I see your a man handler...got to tell the ladies how to act so they know how to please you.

Sorry about your Seahawks, I was rooting for them too...that last play in the end was the most high school f'up I have ever seen...for shame on national TV. I know what it looks like to need sports team rehab....our Detroit Lions have been breaking my dad's heart all his life. But he keeps going back for more.
