Dr Bob Comes Home With Fruit Punch & Lemonista Aid - So Please Don't Be Critical

Some nice buds there bobby boy!

:thanks: I am so glad to be moving into flowering again. Haven't had a bud in the tent in two months or so. Too long. :high-five:

Why yes, I do...vaping some Himalaya Blue Diesel auto I just harvested. Seems OK but next bunch in my AERO/DWC (BIDs Purple #1 auto)will be kick-ass I am sure. Beans a poppin' :cheesygrinsmiley:

That Purple #1 sounds fun to me. My vape was busy with Lemon Kush this afternoon for sure. Currently occupied with White Widow X Big Bud and it seems to like it. I may need to feed it some more.

:volcano-smiley:

Like little white firework bursts against a beautiful green background. Love me some young buds.... the "fireworks" stage is just so pretty to my eye.
I guess I'm a defoliator... tho I don't think of it or do it in any formal way. When I see a leaf (or other bit) I don't like, I introduce it to the scissors. There are many reasons not to like a leaf or limb... I'm going for 10.

10. It's sticking so far out I'm gonna break it off just handling the plant.
9. I spilled nutes on it when I fed.
8. I think that leaf is jealous of Betty!
7. I'm sure that leaf is jealous of Betty!
6. Oh that'll never see any light there!
5. Man that leaf's had a tough life and sure looks like hell.
4. Hmmmm... I think this limb is more of a determent than a help.
3. Ya know... I just don't like you.
2. That limb's too low!
1. Oh you're just blockin too much goodness waiting to explode!

OK... I admit... some are fillers just to get to 10.

I should print this list and paste it to the tent wall! For me 9 often creates 5 which turns into 3. :bravo:

Thanks for the photos of your jungle, Dr Bob -- as Tead said, they absolutely look like fireworks :) I really appreciate the shots of the defoliation too -- very helpful for this new grower. I do a half-assed defol if the extra leaves start to bother me but I really don't have the least clue.

heh heh heh -- I've got a lot of 5s at the moment and I confess I've thought 3 more than once :)

I agree with Tead that this is a really fun time of growth. All crazy potential and what is going to happen next. Your garden is beautiful and I am not sure how to square that with "new grower". :hmmmm: I go to extremes on the leaf removal front. I started as a major defoliator but this grow I love how much they look that I hate pinching at them.

It was really time to do it though. Just removing the plant matter that I have in the last couple days, about a gallon of leaves pressed down or more, the humidity in the tent has dropped. About 15% after lights out which was climbing up to 70% before. Now sticking at around 50-55% around the clock. Those leaves were letting off tons of moisture in the dark.

My 3s, 5s, 9s, 7s and the rest are mostly in the bin now. All cleared out and lights are about to go out. Final shot after pulling leaves all night.

Sleep tight everyone and don't let the bedbugs bite.

PS: Actually, if you have bedbugs you really should not sleep on that mattress anymore.

Man those plants are beautiful.

I can now see some lower bud sites, so that will definitely have the desired effect. I would have taken a little more though. If I look from the top, I like to able to see almost all the way through to the bottom of the plant. Not always possible with some strains, unless you want to strip the plant bare which I don't like doing. Some strains are better for defol than others. Just like most training methods I would imagine.

Thanks Blaze! I will need to get some more pics and post them as I have been removing a bit at a time the last few days. Just as you say I can now see "through" the plant. They are really happy about it! :thumb:

Someone has to let the light in, it's like opening up the curtains to brighten up the room.
:nomo: :ciao: :bong:

Curtains are open now and the lower buds are sunning themselves under beautiful purple light! :thanks:

Looking phenominal dr! Your plants are the picture of health :circle-of-love::love::circle-of-love:

Thank you Dr! They were reaching to the sky last evening looking like they were trying to catch every last ray of light. If I can pull anything close to your yield I will be a very happy Doc.

nice field :bravo:

Thanks b! I am loving having a field of green right now. I miss flowers when they aren't around.

And the Fruit Punch is doing well.

She sure is! The punches are loving life right now. Thanks for the kind words.

Everyone got a feed yesterday with Yum Yum mix cut into the top of the soil and some Indonesian guano 0-13-0 in their drink. 2 Tablespoons of each.

I have some new pics of the vegging girls and I will get them up sometime later today. Time for a proper family outing this morning.

Hey :420: friends!

It's time to talk the vegging girls I think. They aren't really the stars of this show but hey, they need  and attention just like the rest of us.

So onto the show! As a reminder, these girls are all in 3.5G or so felt pots in PeeJay veg soil under two Mars 3w reflectors. First up a group shot.

The sativa looking Strawberry Blue is stretching her wings out quite a bit.

Money Maker is taking on a tough stance and growing the fastest of the bunch. Looks quite a bit like the Critical Kush.

Pineapple Chunk is looking quite, well uh, chunky! Indica goodness for sure.

And finally the cute little Fruitilicious. What ever should I do with her? Top her? LST? Let her run to catch up with the rest? I am at a loss as she is so cute and symmetrical and I just don't know what I want to do.

Had a great day running errands with those that I love. Car dealership really have an incredible sense of humor when quoting fixes. Luckily I get the joke. It must be silly expensive for those that don't understand. :trance:

Hi there brother dr. lol...

I think you have may have issue with to much green on your hands lol. The ladies all look super happy. That money maker is one fast growing lady. Do you finish in the 3.5 felts or do you up pot? I've been thinking about doing some smaller containers but the 7's sure seem to be a great compromise between size and yield. I think the goal is a zip per gallon but I've never been able to achieve that lol. Still a good goal. Just wondering if and how you up pot in the felts.

Kinda like dumping pennies into your retirement account... it sure doesn't seem important when you're 18, but can be an awesome gift closer to 'harvest'.

If MoneyMaker were to find herself in my hempy pots, I'd boost her nute level. I base those words on the high growth rate and 'limey' green color of the inner new growth. 2cents and all.

Thanks for that tip, Tead. My artist's eye loves the contrasting greens in those photos but I need to develop my gardener's eye, too :)

Great photos, Dr Bob! Veg love all over the place ...

I'm in a topping phase, so my vote for Fruitilicious is a topping above node three by the looks of the pic.

She's so tight and has such broad leaves though...

Yep, that is what is getting me to hesitate my usual treatment. :thanks: for your vote!

Beautiful youngsters Bob. I would leave the fruitilicious alone for now.

A vote for a stay of the chopper! :thumb:

are they all the same age???

Nope, the strawberry blue is the oldest, a week or so younger is the Chunk and Money Maker, and the Fruitilicious is two weeks behind.

Great question! :thumb: I didn't mention that.

I agree it isn't quite ready yet but soon :cheesygrinsmiley:

I do a 3rd node, then every 2 nodes, and then bend 'em over and tie 'em down with decorative chenille pipe cleaners (longer than pipe cleaners). Did my two oldest youngsters today...hoping for female, we shall see:cheesygrinsmiley:

I was looking at your pics and love the training! I may have to just do that. So thanks a bunch for the suggestions.

She will continue to grow and we will await her readiness for topping! Thanks to everyone for giving suggestions!

The color in the picture makes that look more pronounced than in person but I think you may be right. I will start with just some yum yum cut into the top, and maybe a touch of high N guano in the next watering. Nothing radical but I may do it with all but the chunk as it is a really deep green.

:thanks: my Cajun friend!

I agree on the contrasts myself but they are coming in a tad lighter than I would expect. I am finally appreciating how much the veg cycle really sets the stage for the rest and isn't just a boring time waiting for the flip. I am having fun building potential in these girls.
