I had an odd swick thought the other day. I've not used swick, so please shot my idea in the foot if needed....

Tead, I thought, that wick might cause some issues. I wonder if one went with a 1/4" hose, but plugged (stop! I only used one "t") the end with a few inches of cloth using the hose as a replacement for a cloth wick.
Get it? Am I making sense?

Interesting thought using an actual wick to wick and a hose. I was thinking in another direction and imagining a float switch so the SWICK just keeps itself level. I really need that basement space grow room. So many ways to complicate, pot, dirt, seed, watering bucket and so little time.

Hi Bob and friends,

Such a wonderful journal. Beautiful plants, and, beautiful vibes (and people). :circle-of-love::love::circle-of-love:

I am so glad to see you hanging around. I hope you are feeling well today. All my good vibes are being concentrated your way for a while!
:circle-of-love:

Plants look fantastic as always, but it's pretty dense in there. Can the light penetrate below that canopy?

No, light nor sound has a chance to penetrate the tangle. I was trying to delay until 3 weeks as you suggested earlier on but I may just have to fudge it a few days early and clear 'em out a bit. Now when I have them out of the tent they look less dense, but they are being compressed in the tent and that is likely why. May just have to do it today.

Thank Vlad! Just was over at your place admiring your training! Quite the beauty you have there. I am pleased with my 2 week girls but I haven't had to do much except pull them back here and there. The soil, lights and girls are doing the rest all by themselves.

I think you were posting this while I was filling a small bin with them. Round one is done in the lower leaves and I may take another swing tomorrow from the top side. Looks way better now and air can get through but I want a bit more light in there. Just trying not to be draconian this time around.

Love that pipe of yours. I had one back in the 80s and lost it. Couldn't find another Had the poker built in and damn if I can't remember what they were called. Do you still have that beauty or was that an old shot?

Which movie is that from? I have heard the phrase and didn't think of them first. I was just listening to a old live show of theirs on a plane this past week. I am sure everyone thought I was crazy laughing constantly out loud. :biglaugh:

Oh dude... add hydro variables to that mix too! Then, there are some cross medium methods to consider.
Man... the amount of variables involved in growing a damn weed can be overwhelming!
Fun how we all find a good mix of those variables and run with it.

And then crazy side projects like 200 solo cups, 12/12 in a small tent from seed, the 100 g mother houseplant I want to grow in my living room and then try to figure out how to flower it, not to mention one of those crazy wheel things with the light in the middle.

It will never end :cheesygrinsmiley:

Back at ya buddy! :circle-of-love:

Howdy my sticky fingered friends!

The time had come to remove lots of growth from the flower tent. The moisture level in there was plain redunklulus and light couldnt' get anywhere. So first it was time to go below and clear up some space so I could see what was going on down there. I removed everything below a certain point that had no hope of light whatsoever.

Here is a shot of the Critical Kush from below.

Then today i went to work above removing any leaves that were completely blocking buds and clearing things out a bit for better air flow. I will likely do more but from here on out it will be adjustments vs big actions.

Finally, some flower shots. Things look nice and sugar is starting to show on the Punches and the Kush. The Lemonista is starting significantly slower than the others.

What do you all think on the leaf removal front. Do I have defoliators in the room or leaf lovers? The Doc loves all kinds in the garden.

Like little white firework bursts against a beautiful green background. Love me some young buds.... the "fireworks" stage is just so pretty to my eye.
I guess I'm a defoliator... tho I don't think of it or do it in any formal way. When I see a leaf (or other bit) I don't like, I introduce it to the scissors. There are many reasons not to like a leaf or limb... I'm going for 10.

10. It's sticking so far out I'm gonna break it off just handling the plant.
9. I spilled nutes on it when I fed.
8. I think that leaf is jealous of Betty!
7. I'm sure that leaf is jealous of Betty!
6. Oh that'll never see any light there!
5. Man that leaf's had a tough life and sure looks like hell.
4. Hmmmm... I think this limb is more of a determent than a help.
3. Ya know... I just don't like you.
2. That limb's too low!
1. Oh you're just blockin too much goodness waiting to explode!

OK... I admit... some are fillers just to get to 10.

Very nice looking garden Dr Bob!!!! looks like those trichomes are already starting to cake on! I do my defoliation very similar to you, anything blocking budsites or that seems to crowded goes, but other than that I keep it mild and just slowly defoliate as needed for airflow and good light penetration :) very nice plants!!!

Thanks for the photos of your jungle, Dr Bob -- as Tead said, they absolutely look like fireworks :) I really appreciate the shots of the defoliation too -- very helpful for this new grower. I do a half-assed defol if the extra leaves start to bother me but I really don't have the least clue.

heh heh heh -- I've got a lot of 5s at the moment and I confess I've thought 3 more than once :)
