Doc Bud's High Brix - Strawberry Cough - Pineapple Express

Re: Doc Bud's High Brix: Strawberry Cough, Pineapple Express

I put it in a big pot, and I think the roots have hit the soil where the good stuff starts, thankfully I somehow didn't make it too hot, was almost certain it was, she is taking off now. Maybe the teas help to chill out the ferts somehow? Or get a head start on digesting them? Have to say I am loving this not having to check PH all the damn time, well haven't had to yet. :)

there is no need to check pH! Good for you for not doing it!

Thank you so very much for introducing me to High Brix,:thanks: amazing looking plants you have been growing. Attempting High Brix for the vegetable garden and when I Google High Brix it keeps bringing me back to you guys on 420:bravo:Trailblazers you all are! Ordered my rock dust for the garden!!

:thanks:

Nice! What kind of "rock dust" did you get?

HIgh Brix growing works even better outdoors. I've some veggies that are thriving and some cannabis that should be pretty awesome as well.

Doc, I'm loving that iridescent lime green color...really does almost have a glow to it! :)

Re: Doc Bud's High Brix: Strawberry Cough, Pineapple Express

I'm in Europe and the thing that most closely fits what I think I'm looking for is Seers rockdust,

""SEER® Rockdust®" - 420 million years old, freshly ground, untreated, volcanic rock from Scottish quarries. Decades of rigorous gardening trials and scientific analysis show SEER® Rockdust® to be safe to add to soils and compost. Whilst chemical fertilisers may produce more immediate visual results, SEER Rockdust adds a huge range of mineral and trace elements for long term soil health.

Thanks to the activities of the soil and compost fauna (from microbes to worms) remineralised soil and compost produces the following benefits:

- BOOSTS organic soil fertility
- HIGHER nutritional value
- LONGER shelf life of produce
- LUSHER lawns - BIGGER healthier crops
- BETTER flavour (vegetables start to taste like they used to!)
- INCREASED pest resistance (less reliance on pesticides!)
- IMPROVED drought resistance

It also gives talks covering amongst other things

"Cameron explains how todays climate change is linked to Earth's soil history and he discusses our potential to stabilise climate change by assisting soils to absorb excess CO2 via soil remineralisation and ecological management. "

Which I read as 'You High Brix gardeners are actively taking steps to save the planet'

Keep up the good work!

Agree with Vapedogg, in fact it was the sight of High Brix leaves that utterly convinced me how different your plants are

The High Brix Shine! The babies are getting it pretty early this time.

I'm finding that when they need water, they are dark green and look awesome.....but not quite as shiny.

After a good soaking, they might lighten up a bit in color.....then halfway between feeding and needing they look radioactive. I'll probably put wicks in the pots next time around to try to mitigate that "drunk" feeling they seem to get after a watering.

I think I've got a month to go...so hopefully these buds begin to tighten and fatten. Fingers are crossed......where's that soil report!!!!

I've heard of that stuff! Just make sure you also get some Soft Rock Phosphate. That one is the most important.

You've got to get massive amounts of phosphorus and calcium without burning the plants. Microbial action is the only solution, and Soft Rock Phosphate is the right thing for that, being 20% calcium, with many trace elements....and of course, phosphorus.

As far as the minerals in the soil go....I read a fascinating history of the rise of the great civilizations where the author made the case that superior food supply in certain areas at certain times is what gave rise to the great civilizations.

Just like pets that eat crappy food, or POW's.....many of us suffer from poor nutrition because we:

1.)eat crap
2.)try to eat well but only have access to low brix food
3.)don't know any better, don't like healthy food.

The vegetables taste delicious if grown high brix style and the nutritional benefits, over time, mean all of us are healthier.

In non-vegetable matters....the weed tastes better, and the effect is more complex and comfy. High Brix weed is "without vice." No paranoia, no couch lock, no coughing.....the more you smoke, the better you feel. And it's pretty easy to grow!

Doc

I notice the bending up thing also. The plants are almost on the verge of getting out of control growth wise. We had to LST a bit and Supercrop. The Supercrop turn right back up the next day with just a little bend to the stem. It is so thick and lush in there, but we had to strip a few fans off to open things up a bit. This is the healthiest grow so far.

about your wick.

Are you adding to suck up water or to leach it out like you did a grow or two back?

Hash, are you in mineralized/high Brix soil? Are you journaling it? I'd definitely like to follow along if you are...

I had commented in my journal that it was a bit creepy how quickly the plants moved. At one point I had rolled the whole grow tray out from under the light to do something to my reflector...after five...maybe ten minutes at the most, I looked over at the plants, and they were all turned around looking at me! Okay...they were looking at the light, not me...but it was still a bit unnerving!

The wick would be used to drain the perched water table....get water out.

Yep. They definitely feel more alive. I can almost tell when somethings not right by how I feel when I stand next to the plant. I know it sounds bizarre, and I'm not trying to personalize a plant or anything like that, I'm just saying that they seem to have a different resonance when the shine is happening, etc.

Vape

I did mineralize.

I don't have a journal right now.

I posted this in Docs other journal with my soil mix and new pots.

Doc Bud's Grass Roots Hi Brix post #90

I have been using Molasses and the Bountea Superfood plant tabs the first few waterings. And have used MycoMadness 2x. And Snowstorm Ultra. foliar a few times with Stump Tea and a few with Ginormous. and back on the Stump Tea now.

I am doing what I like to think as a "lite" version of what you guys are doing since I haven't brewed a real frothy batch of tea yet, but these plants are growing like crazy. Even with the basics that I am using the plants are sooo healthy I hope they are as good quality as the last batch. Which by the way is really impressing the people that get to smoke some.

I actually hate to prune and defoliate because the leaves are all picture perfect. Very few have actually looked like they needed pulled.

I am riding the coat tails of you guys and getting better and better.

Excuse my ignorance but what is a high perched water table and why would we want to drain it?

Man there seems to be a never ending stream of things to learn....love it!

The Perched Water Table has to do with the physical properties of soil, specifically the soil's ability to hold water against gravity via capillary action.

For example, let's say you pour 2 gallons of water into a 2 gallon pot of soil. Not all two gallons drip out the bottom of the pot, quite a bit of it is soaked up by the soil.

It turns out, that much of the water hangs out in the bottom 3 or 4 inches of soil, creating an ulta-wet zone in the pot that kills root. The plant tries to send roots into this zone, but the watering drowns them....resulting in wasted energy by the plant and poor roots.

The wick drains this perched water table out the bottom of the pot, leaving the swampy area at the bottom of the pot much more dry, which makes roots happy. I usually do this with taller 3 gallon pots that I use, but not with the 7 gallon pots.

Indoor gardening has some very unique challenges. The only thing we indoor guys have going for us is the ability to control the weather. We're at a disadvantage to outdoors in every other aspect.

Putting Perlite in the bottom doesn't change a thing, then how about putting more Perlite in the soil mix? I always put a bit extra because all the fine dust powders kind of bind everything together too much otherwise, so Perlite making the soil more "airy" would that alter the PWT? Does pot size affect the hight of the PWT?

Wow Doc, those girls already have that healthy shine to them!! I know exactly about what you guy's are saying about how quickly the high brix plant's react. I would bend mine in the scrog screen and literally within 15 minutes they were already facing the light and upwards again...

And Doc, I definitely get what you were saying about how you can "feel" the plants. I noticed that too, that they react so quickly to things changing, they almost reach out and talk to you :) I cant wait to try my plants out where there done, I have to say, my blackberry kush smells amazing, very floral and sweet, different from other blackberry kushes I have sampled.
