Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Thank you Doc for all the hard and tedious work you put into your product to make it legit, both with what it does and in the eyes of the label bureaucrats. You fill our orders promptly, manage your own fine grows, and most importantly attracted a most unique group of supporters that believe in you and help one another.

How did I stumble upon this?....fate I suppose....or maybe something more...one never knows.

What I do know is I grow some fine connoisseur grade herb now, and everyone I light up tells me this...it's such a great feeling!

This Curing Blue Dream is from You to me, and now back to You!

Thanks Doc!

Re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Again, I apologize for not being around as much as I'd like to be. Trust me, there are very good reasons for this, but I definitely wish I had more time to be here and do what I love....which is discussing and brainstorming High Brix gardening tech for the best plant on earth.

Yes, a webstore exists. No, it isn't finished but will be soon. It will have video's new instructions, Science for Stoners, and all kinds of good stuff for HB growers. Between growing, packing kits, working a full time job and life....I'm completely overwhelmed time-wise. But it's by choice, and it's temporary.

As for getting "big" no worries. The product will always be developed, quality will never be sacrificed. I'm striving to improve the service end before I turn the lights on.....and there's a lot of work to be done, people to hire, infrastructure to build, etc. It's all happening, slowly at times, but surely.

And don't think for a second I've forgotten about any of you, who you are, who I am and how WE are doing this together in many ways. At the top of my list is finding a way to reward all of you for testing my gear and helping me improve it. None of this could be done without your help and I haven't forgotten it and won't forget it!

Stay tuned.....

Hey HB gang! Got a quick question for you experienced brixers.

I have a Skywalker kush in 1st run soil that has been starting to show yellowing in the leaves. I'm thinking she is telling me to give her more of something. But what is that something?

Here's how I"m approaching these Frankenstrains:

Baby the roots for the first half of bloom. Very Light feedings, soil slightly more dry than normal for bloom.....they need massive roots due to being so damn inefficient.

Do the Cat Drench later and lighter.....and once the plant seems to be fully engaged, THEN hit it with stronger drenches, etc.

Also, use Snake Oil (or Wayahead if you've got it) along with Brix, even during the first half of bloom. Just allow for the roots to develop before feeding it too much.

Thanks Doc, I forgot to mention she's using the old formulas as well. But yes I guess I fed her too much. She has gotten water the past two waters(1 gallon each). She is supposed get a Trans drench next so I will go light on her. I'll spray brix tonight and add snake oil for the Skywalker as well. I figure since I start bloom in less than a week, Im good to start this?

Afternoon to ya Colorado! Old formulas eh,...start giving her some Epsoms . You can either mix it up with her next drink or top dress a handful , scratch and water in. If you mix it with water , first heat up a glass in the microwave a lil, not hot , but warm,..mix in the Epsoms two tablespoons/two gal. watering can is good. The warm water really helps it all dissolve nice. Make sure to stir it up until it goes 'clear' again, then pour it in your main 'drink' water . Do this treatment three consecutive times , then nothing for two times , then a couple more times with it ,..got it. Doc's new formulas have addressed these issues with the frankenstrains we all like to grow these days so, there will, hopefully be a lot less using Epsoms in the future. Couple thoughts for ya Colorado. Cheers eh!:high-five:

Epsoms... got it! I will probably just top dress and scratch it into the surface since that's how I have always done it.

This is hopefully the last time using the old formulas. I have the new formulas and my clones are already in 2nd run soil. I'm ready and waiting to use! My clones need a bit before they get anything besides water though. I bet my Skywalker will love the 2nd run soil and the new formulas!

Thanks again Duggs.

There's lots of love in my heart for you Doc. There's a bunch of us that will always stand by you. We appreciate all you do and I know we are all glad to be on this adventure together.

My thoughts exactly..
I have been extremely busy at work due to lack of help, if I was in hydro right now, my garden would be dead. I have not been able to give my plants the attention I would like to, but with Docs kit they are flourishing nicely. Although could be better, but that is on me not the kit.
Thanks Doc

Hiring you say? Now that would be awesome, but I bet relocating and cost of living in Cali is out of my budget.

:allgood:

Yep. I totally agree.

Ideally, get a massive root ball in veg, hack the plant back in such a way that you can train it into a decent shape and put it into bloom 2 weeks after the hack job.

You get a rootball for a 4 ft tall plant feeding a 2 foot tall plant....baby that thing till midbloom and THEN start feeding heavier. The last 2 weeks makes all the difference with the OG strains and a few others I've grown.

But if you try to push them from the start, the roots won't respond like on other plants and you'll burn an already weak root system.

Think soil. If the plants don't look right think soil, not leaves, not "defiencies" but soil. High Brix soil is deficient in nothing, but if something happens to the microbial life that slows it down. Common causes of poor microbial action:

low temps from a concrete slab
too high of temps from running small containers outside in the summer
too much organic matter. More than 8% organic matter will choke the soil. It's common with organic growers of all types.
keeping the soil too moist

If we get the roots and microbes dancing in rhythm, and have a large rootball feeding a relatively small plant.

Much love and respect bro. Your plants speak for themselves.

Speaking of what we do, the weed grown in this soil keeps extremely well if cured properly. I've got some stuff grown by a known misfit that's a year old and it's a whole 'nuther kind of experience. I can't wait to share my observations about this with everyone. I've never had weed like this!

Not going to lie, the yellowing looks like tobacco mosaic virus (TMV). Just on half of the two leaves...thats what I see.

Why does that name sound so scary.... I'm not too familiar with TMV?

Check out PotChimp's threads he has had to deal with it a few times. It is a systemic virus that is usually transferred from tobacco products to other plants. Symptoms are usually variegated, scimitar leaves. It can be passed from plant to plant and from what I have read you can only get rid of it by culling what you have or getting it to harvest and starting fresh. If you clone from a plant that has it the clones will carry it as well. I do not think it kills plants (unless in extreme cases maybe) but it will negatively effect yield.
