Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

So here's the deal, they were planted a quarter inch deep maybe a little lower. RO water soaked paper towel squeezed over them to moisten the area. Temperatures are between 73 and 75. OK I guess I will have to be patient. I'm a Patient guy I can wait. I did soak them in RO water for 24 hours

When I put mine in cups, ill fill the cup/pot up half way, soak that soil really well, fill the cup up the rest of the way with soil, make a half inch deep hole, add ROOTS!, drop the seed in and add just enough water to close the cavity the seed is in. Every time I've done this, I get a sprout in 3 days...just sayin :)

New stuff:

Reformulating Growth Energy to include magnesium and sulfur. This is huge! Up till now, such a thing was very difficult due to the propensity for the bottle to bloom and produce gas....pop and leak, etc. This is going to negate the need for epsoms.

Same deal with Transplant. It will have magnesium, sulfur and a bit of iron in it. Between the two drenches, we should not see anymore mag issues AND we'll still have high brix!

about a month away.
Hi doc been seeing the great stuff your soil does and I know it is mixed with promix if I remember correctly. I am not able to acquire promix where I am but I can get another brand.
Do you know if this would work TH-1 All-Purpose Professional Growing Mix | Theriault & Hachey Peat Moss Ltd.

This is awesome! I should run out of GE just in time for the new stuff. I have a whole quart of transplant though. Lol I bought too much.

I can probably guess that he'll say no but you never know. He has posted a list of different soils that you can use. I'm sure you can find it on page 78 of "In the lab with Doc bud"

That's a new way. I didn't do that but I wish I had added the water to close the cavity. I think I may have put to much pressure on them when I closed it. Not sure tho. I did add roots tho

Oh.....it could be any number of things in a "super" soil. Generally speaking, they're over-the-top full of organic material, which makes the soil life sluggish and promotes pathogens.

This is why when you harvest, many times you'll find that the roots never really colonized the lower part of the container. The soil is way too "hot" and has way too much organic matter, and of course massive amounts of potassium, which makes high brix impossible.

Please, when you harvest take note of the roots. 9/10 times they never really develop right in "Super" soil. Been there, done that. Still kicks ass over salt ferts, tho.

Yes sir, I had noticed that on the first couple of first runs with this soil. Ive now found that second run SS is actually much better than 1st run. So what I do is actually dilute the soil by cutting in a bit of plain soil. That actually helps a ton. Ive noticed deeper stronger roots since implementing this. Ugh.. yea high potassium... well maybe one day I'll get to grow high brix. but yea it is better than salt ferts fo sho... Thanks again Doc Bud!!

Just saw the news about the drench changes! Awesome, can't wait!! I still need to try the OG drench.

If everything goes right, the OG drench will retired. It's always bothered me that things didn't work perfectly for certain strains and this new formulation should do the trick. Was on the phone with the lab yesterday and got the good news! 1 month in the bottle and no explosions or foamy leaks....stable and perfect.

That's awesome! I'll wait until you get the new stock to pick up another kit.

Hah! Well I'm happy that I didn't go big and just stuck with a kit. I look forward to using the new products. Now I need more plants to use up this stash!
